Chapter 107 Building a House, Willful Zhou Rong

Fang Chang pushed his bicycle towards the school. Hao Dongmei was behind Fang Chang on his right hand.

Fang Chang could feel a pair of eyes secretly looking at him from behind him.

Fang Chang parked the bicycle calmly. This time, Fang Chang walked behind and Hao Dongmei walked in front.

Hao Dongmei was walking in front and wanted to turn around to see if Fang Chang was also looking at her secretly.

After arriving at the classroom, Fang Chang took out the textbook and "carefully" flipped through it.

Days passed by, and a week passed in a flash.

During this week, Fang Chang began to be ambiguous towards Hao Dongmei, always using the excuse that he was afraid Zhou Bingyi would misunderstand him.

Hao Dongmei was upset.

Fang Chang was just like usual, eating well, feeling healthy, and in a particularly good mood.

The school was closed for the day, and we had a month's summer vacation.

The first thing Fang Chang did was to use his connections to find two truck drivers, treat them to a meal, fill up their gas tanks, and buy them cigarettes.

Two truck drivers drove Fang Chang, Zhou Bingkun, Zhou Bingkun's friend Sun Ganchao and his neighbor Cao Debao in the dark.

On the first night, four young men with four shovels and two people loaded a cart. They worked from about six in the evening until about eleven at night, and pulled ten carts of soil in total.

Every time we came back, the six of us would finish a watermelon weighing seven or eight kilograms.

Fang Chang bought the big watermelon on the black market.

There are more than a dozen of them in the vegetable cellar!

Zheng Juan and her mother also stayed up until after eleven o'clock before going to bed.

The next day, after sending Zheng Juan to work, Fang Chang borrowed a three-wheeled cart and went to a nearby village to buy a cart of dry straw.

After returning home, Fang Chang placed the dry straw on the dirt pile on the west side of the yard and started digging the foundation half a meter deep and half a meter wide with a shovel.

Zheng Guangming carried an earthen basket (a basket woven from elm strips) and went outside to pick up broken bricks and tiles and throw them into the foundation pit.

By the time the soil was covered with straw and watered, it was already noon.

When Zheng's mother came out after cooking and saw her son-in-law standing in the yard with his bare chest and covered in dirt, she felt a little distressed:

"Xiao Fang! If you can't finish the work, just spread it out and do it tomorrow. Look at how much sweat you've made. You're all dirty and exhausted, right? Go wash up and go inside to eat."

"Auntie, I'm fine. I'm just watching."

Fang Chang said as he walked to the well and tested the water temperature in the wash basin. He then washed his face sharply, washing away all the dirt on his body.

Mother Zheng went into the house and got Fang Chang a towel.

"Brother-in-law! I have picked up all the bricks in front of the house. I will go to a smaller place to pick up more bricks after dinner."

Zheng Guangming pulled a rope and dragged a half-basketful of broken bricks into the yard.

"Let's leave it there for now! Let's wash up and eat. In the afternoon, we'll go borrow a carriage and go west to haul a few loads of stones."

wow~

As Fang Chang spoke, he poured the water in the basin into the yard, then poured a basin of water for Zheng Guangming. He took the towel from Zheng's mother's hand, wiped it, and turned into the house.

In the afternoon, Fang Chang took Zheng Guangming to the suburbs to pull three carts of stones.

When Zhou Bingkun and his friends got off work in the evening, they went directly to Fang Chang's house to eat wild fish from the Yitong River.

"Brother Fang, this fish is really delicious. This is the first time I have eaten such delicious fish in my life."

After dinner, Zhou Bingkun sat in the yard, took a sip of tea, and said while picking his teeth with a broom.

"Bingkun, are you stupid? Didn't you see how much oil the old lady put in when stewing the fish? It would be strange if the fish wasn't fragrant!"

Cao Debao, Zhou Bingkun's childhood friend, retorted to Zhou Bingkun in an unpleasant tone.

Zhou Bingkun smiled and replied unyieldingly:

"You talk as if you've ever eaten such a greasy meal."

"Brother Fang, it's almost time. Let's work a little longer before it gets dark."

Sun Ganchao is a down-to-earth person. He feels embarrassed to eat all the delicious food and fish that Fang Chang has given him without working.

"Okay, Catch up, and Debao, you two step on it, and Bingkun and I will throw dirt in."

Fang Chang stood up and said with a smile.

Then several young men began to work. Zhou's mother sat in the yard, doing needlework while watching her son-in-law and his men work.

Zheng Juan was sitting under the grape trellis with a dictionary on her lap and the little red book given to her by Fang Chang in her hand.

During these two and a half months, Fang Chang would occasionally compose a poem, which fascinated Zhou Rong, a willful young lady. She would often go to Fang Chang's house after dinner to sit for a while, listening to Fang Chang's occasional poems and watching him work.

After two and a half months, Zhou Rong often went to Fang Chang's house and soon diverted her attention. Feng Huacheng used to be invisible and intangible, but now Fang Chang could see and touch him, so she didn't touch him for the time being.

After having dinner at home, Zhou Rong came to Fang Chang's house with a book in her schoolbag.

"Zhou Rong is here! Come and sit here."

Zheng Juan didn't know that Zhou Rong, the eldest daughter, often came to her house to wish a happy new year to the chicken, so she stood up enthusiastically and brought a small stool to Zhou Rong.

Zhou Rong glanced at Fang Chang, who was working with his bare chest and muscular body.

"They are doing quite well."

Zhou Rong retracted her gaze and said with a smile.

"Brother Fang insisted on building two warehouses. Come sit here, Zhou Rong. I have something I don't understand and want to ask you."

Zheng Juan pulled Zhou Rong to sit down and then went to the Red Book to ask Zhou Rong.

Zhou Rong explained it to Zheng Juan seriously, but she would glance at Fang Chang from time to time.

Spirited, literary, knowledgeable, humorous, physically fit,

There are too many advantages, all of which I like.

As Zhou Rong was thinking, she started to lose focus.

"Zhou Rong, are you worried about something?"

Zheng Juan looked at Zhou Rong and asked.
