Slowly Deep Love

Chapter 38 Spring Snow

In the first half of the night, Yue Weiwei was always thinking about Chengtai Theater. She was unusually awake and had trouble falling asleep. It was not until the late evening that she fell into a deep sleep.

When the sky turned pale, a ray of light shone into the room through the window, and she suddenly opened her eyes and woke up.

Quickly getting dressed, she opened the door to greet the day.

Changle, who was guarding the door, was startled. She asked, "Miss, you must be tired after all the hard work yesterday. Why don't you sleep a little longer today?"

"I don't want to sleep anymore. I want to go to Chengtai Theater."

"Madame Li is preparing breakfast in the kitchen. Miss, please be patient. Changle will help you wash up." Changle said this as he helped Yue Weiwei into the house.

Soon, Nanny Li came with a lunch box. Seeing Yue Weiwei getting ready, she knew that she was ready to go to Chengtai Theater at any time.

After dinner, Yue Weiwei took Nanny Li and Changle away from Qingxiang Pavilion.

On the way, they saw a maid coming from afar. She was pretty and smart. When she saw Yue Weiwei, she stopped for a moment, with a long-lost look on her face and joy in her eyes.

She walked quickly towards Yue Weiwei, and Li Ma said, "Miss, she is Chunxue."

Yue Weiwei took a closer look and found that she was the maid who did the shopping for the kitchen. She left some fresh and rare vegetables for Minglu every day.

She walked towards Chunxue generously, but Chunxue seemed a little embarrassed. She lowered her head and walked quickly towards her to greet her.

Without waiting for Chunxue to salute, Yue Weiwei held her arm and said, "Chunxue, you have to get up early every day to do the shopping. It must be very hard."

"Mrs. Ming, this is Chunxue's job. It's not hard."

"Have we met before?"

Chunxue was stunned at first, then continued: "On the day when Madam Ming married into the Taiwei Mansion, Chunxue saw you from afar. You were wearing a veil at that time. After that, Chunxue and Madam Ming met once more."

"Do you remember that encounter?"

"To answer Madam Ming, how could Chunxue have forgotten? The day you came home, Chunxue was driving past the gate of the mansion and happened to see you getting on the carriage."

Yue Weiwei always felt something strange in her heart. Just these two random meetings made her look at Minglu differently and take better care of her.

After hesitating for a moment, she said, "Chunxue, you and I really have a connection, as if we had met in our previous life. Did we meet before Minglu married into the Taiwei Mansion?"

Haruyuki's expression froze, as if she was lost in thought.

Nanny Li and Changle were somewhat shocked and looked at each other.

"Never." Haruyuki broke the silence with simple words.

Yue was a little disappointed. She really wanted to hear Chunxue talk about Minglu.

"Miss, how did you and Chunxue meet?" Changle said shockingly.

Nanny Li followed up by saying, "Young lady and Chunxue hit it off right away, so they naturally sympathize with each other."

Yue Weiwei quickly smiled and said, "Chunxue, if you have any difficulties in the future, just come to Qingxiang Pavilion and tell me. If I can help you, I will definitely help you."

Chunxue looked at her gratefully and said, "Mrs. Ming is a noble lady, how can you have anything to do with a servant like Chunxue?"

"Why should you be polite to me? You have to buy all the fresh vegetables for the whole family. Just come to me if you have any problems." Yue Weiwei said straightforwardly.

"Mrs. Ming, I am grateful for your kindness."

"It's settled then. Remember to come find me at Qingxiang Pavilion." Yue Weiwei thought of Chengtai Theater, said goodbye to Chunxue, and left.

Chunxue looked at her from behind, thinking, "Ms. Ming, you don't remember me."

What a distant memory that is.

Chunxue's father worked in the fields of Mingfu. Since he could read and do arithmetic, after the busy farming season was over, the people in the accounting office would ask him for help with the accounts.

Every time this time comes, Chunxue's family is like the New Year, because working an extra job means earning more money, and they can eat a few pieces of meat every day.

But things did not go as planned. Haruyuki's father died of illness early, leaving her and her mother behind when she was only 10 years old.

It was like the sky had fallen on our family. My mother cried every day. The few acres of land in the family all fell on her shoulders. She was exhausted both physically and mentally, and she quickly lost a lot of weight.

In order to reduce her mother's burden, Chunxue began to work in the fields. It was then that she tasted the hardship and fatigue of labor.

However, the yield from those few acres of land was low. After a year of hard work, the harvest was pitifully small, just enough to feed the mother and son. The rest of the expenses had to be paid from the savings her father earned from working.

In the end, I've spent all my savings.

Chunxue's mother made a decision. She wanted to send Chunxue to Ming Mansion as a maid, which would be better than suffering with her.

That day, mother and daughter were kneeling in front of the gate of Ming Mansion. Coincidentally, Minglu and her mother had just returned from Rocky's shop. Seeing the mother and daughter, 9-year-old Minglu stopped.

"Mother, they look so pitiful."

Chunxue's mother knew that there was a young lady in the Ming Mansion, but she had never seen her. She crawled to Minglu's feet desperately and cried, "Miss, please, please accept my daughter! Let her work like a cow or a horse for you, just give her a meal."

"What's the good of being a maid? If you become a slave in the future, what hope is there?" Minglu asked her back.

"Her father had been working in the Ming mansion, but he died last year. We mother and I have no hope left. We can barely eat." Chunxue's mother was already sobbing.

Minglu has lived a life of luxury and never has to worry about any household affairs. Today, when she saw this poor mother and daughter, she felt heartbroken.

She asked Madam Ming, "Mother, can my daughter make the decision today?"

After Madam Ming nodded in agreement, Ming Lu said, "There is an acre of good land in the east of the city. I'll give it to you and your daughter so that you can live a good life."

Not only Haruyuki's mother, but even Mrs. Ming did not expect that this was Minglu's decision, but she did not stop it.

A pie fell from the sky, but Haruyuki and her daughter were dumbfounded and didn't know how to reach out to catch it.

"Don't spread the news about today's events. Not everyone has the same fate as us." This was Minglu's advice.

Thanks to this piece of land, Haruyuki and her daughter lived a wealthy life for 6 years.

It was also on this piece of land that Haruyuki's mother was beaten to death.

Thinking of this, Chunxue shuddered. She stood within the courtyard wall of the Taiwei Mansion, feeling as if she were in another world.
