Rift: Countdown to Doomsday

As night fell, the entire forest was enveloped in thick darkness. The moonlight shone through the sparse leaves, casting mottled shadows on the ground. There was an ominous smell in the wind, as if some danger was quietly approaching.

"Let's camp here tonight," Ling Feng said as he prepared the camp. "It's getting late, and it's too dangerous to move forward."

Xue Wu looked around vigilantly, "The atmosphere here is not right, everyone should be careful."

Lie Yan picked up the big sword and stood guard outside the camp. "Don't worry, with me here, no enemy can get close easily."

Lan Ya nimbly climbed up a big tree, ready to observe the surrounding movements from a high place.

As the night deepened, everyone was on alert. Suddenly, a rustling sound came from a distance, breaking the silence of the night. Ling Feng stood up suddenly, "Everyone, be alert! Something is coming!"

Several figures slowly walked out of the darkness. They were vaguely seen wearing black clothes and had gloomy faces. The leader was a tall and burly man, holding a long sword that flashed with cold light.

"It's the Shadow Assassins!" Xue Wu whispered, "They come with bad intentions."

The leading man sneered, "You are able to camp here, you seem to be quite capable. However, tonight is your end."

Ling Feng said in a deep voice, "We don't want to be enemies with anyone, but if someone attacks us, we will not show mercy."

The shadow assassins quickly launched their attacks, and the battle broke out instantly. Ling Feng used the ability granted by the system, and the sword shadows flew, fighting with the enemy. Xue Wu and Lie Yan guarded the left and right sides respectively to prevent the enemy from attacking from the flanks.

"Ling Feng, be careful!" Lan Ya suddenly jumped down from the tree, her voice full of anxiety.

Ling Feng dodged the enemy's sneak attack, then slashed with his sword, repelling the attacker.

The battle was extremely fierce. The attacks of the shadow assassins were strange and fierce, but Ling Feng and his men gradually gained the upper hand with their tacit cooperation.

“Ling Feng, your strength is indeed extraordinary,” the Shadow Assassin leader wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, “However, our mission is to completely eliminate you. None of you will leave alive today.”

Ling Feng sneered, "Then give it a try!"

Suddenly, Ling Feng felt a strong murderous aura coming from behind him. He turned around suddenly and blocked the fatal blow of the Shadow Assassin leader. When the two fought, sparks flew in the air and the swords flashed, making it almost impossible to open your eyes.

"Ling Feng, hold on, we'll be able to deal with them soon!" Before Xue Wu finished her words, her magic wand emitted a bright light and knocked back an enemy.

Lie Yan also took the opportunity to launch a fierce counterattack. No one could stop him wherever his sword went. The shadow assassins were defeated and finally realized that they had underestimated their opponents.

"Retreat!" The shadow assassin leader gave the order helplessly, and the shadow assassins quickly disappeared into the night.

After the battle, Ling Feng and his companions breathed a sigh of relief, but they knew that this was just the beginning and there were more and greater dangers ahead.

"We have to speed up and not be caught up by these guys," Ling Feng said.

"That's right," Xue Wu nodded in agreement, "We must find the legendary holy land as soon as possible. The power there may help us defeat these enemies once and for all."

"Then let's go," Lie Yan clenched his sword, "No matter how dangerous the road ahead is, we will not retreat."

On this night full of danger, Ling Feng and his companions once again embarked on an unknown journey. They knew that only by moving forward could they uncover the secrets hidden in the darkness and welcome a bright future.
