Quick Wear: The Crazy Boss Only Loves the Cold Host

Chapter 10: Elegant Uncle x Emotionally Deficient Niece 10

After returning home, Jiang Yan went to the study. Even though he had just recovered and been discharged from the hospital, he was still busy working and stayed there for half a day.

Jiang Qing ignored him because he was in good condition. When Jiang Yun came back after finishing his work and heard that he was still working, he rushed into the study and ordered Jiang Yan to have a good rest without even putting down the documents in his hand.

"I'm going back home on my flight tomorrow. Can't you let Dad worry less?"

The door was not closed and the sound coming out was clear.

Jiang Yan whispered something, and finally came out of the study with Jiang Yun. As soon as they sat down in the living room, Jiang Yun stood up again to answer a phone call. After the call, she came back and sat next to Jiang Qing.

"Qingqing, do you want to go back with your aunt? I have to leave tomorrow."

She leaned over to help Jiang Qing push back the loose hair on her temples, her expression gentle.

Jiang Yun manages a branch company in the Jiang family, and her job is much easier than her brother who shoulders a heavy burden. Therefore, when Jiang Yan gets into trouble, she is the only one who has time to come.

But now the company has a lot of work to deal with, so she has to rush back.

Jiang Qing shook his head without hesitation, "I want to stay here."

Seeing this, Jiang Yun did not force it anymore. She gave Jiang Qing some instructions and went upstairs with the documents.

Suddenly, the only people left in the living room were Jiang Yan, who was forced to stop working, and Jiang Qing, who had nothing to do.

The setting sun shone in from the French windows on the west side in the evening, making people feel tired. Jiang Qing found a magazine under the coffee table and sat on the carpet to read it. Then, without raising his head, he asked Jiang Yan: "Uncle, take me for a walk around here. It's better not to be too busy with work when you are recovering from your illness."

Jiang Yan had no choice but to agree, since she was Jiang Qing.

So after they sent Jiang Yun to the airport the next day, Jiang Yan asked Su He to take them to find some scenic spots or other leisurely places to visit.

In order to take care of Jiang Yan's injuries, they chose places where they didn't have to walk too far.

They went to the world's tallest building to watch the sun covering the earth, and sat in a coffee shop on a busy street corner for an entire afternoon. Perhaps it had been a long time since they had spent time like this, so Jiang Yan became more talkative during this time. He told Jiang Qing how he had attracted partners and how he had convinced those cunning capitalists to finance him.

Jiang Qing knew that his strength was unquestionable, but it was also the first time he heard these things about him. Compared to the inspirational protagonists in TV dramas who climbed to the top step by step, Jiang Yan took fewer detours, but because of his original identity, he had seen all kinds of darkness.

"Few people who stay in this position here are clean." Jiang Yan picked up the glass and took a sip of warm water. "When it's hard to have the best of both worlds, I can only find a balance myself."

His eyes were full of mystery and looked straight into Jiang Qing's eyes.

Jiang Yan left it blank without saying anything else. After checking the time, he drank the rest of the warm water in one gulp. He took Jiang Qing's hand and returned to the car, asking Su He to take them to the beach to watch the sunset.

Just like a scene in a movie, when Jiang Qing recalled this day many years later, he could remember that every frame seemed like a carefully designed romance.

Look at all living beings at the place closest to the sky, and when the end of the day comes, go to the beach to listen to the waves hitting the beach and watch the sunset.

They did not go down to the beach, but found a nearby wooden chair on the beach to sit down.

There were still many people having fun on the beach in the distance.

The blowing sea breeze was damp and salty, and the setting sun was still hanging above the sea level.

Maybe the atmosphere was too good, Jiang Yan continued, "Once the company encountered a bottleneck in designing a new product, and a lot of information was obtained by the competitor. No one knew what to do, including me." His peach blossom eyes narrowed into a beautiful arc because of the light.

"During that time, I often suffered from insomnia, so I drove to the beach every morning to watch the sun rise."

A volleyball rolled down the beach to his feet. Jiang Yan bent down to pick it up and threw it back to the child who was running over.

"Every time I think of you in the direction where the sun rises," he paused, "and your grandparents, and the Jiang family, I know there must be a way."

Jiang Qing listened to this quietly, turned her head to look at him, and said nothing.

"If I failed, I could just go back home. But at that time, I had only one thought - that I only had this one chance, and I was actually more eager to succeed than anyone thought."

He turned around and met Jiang Qing's eyes.

"Qingqing, I will leave the Jiang family and return to the Mo family."

Jiang Qing was stunned.

"for what?"

Jiang Yan lowered his eyes and seemed to be thinking, "For..."

He suddenly stopped what he was about to say, his eyes darkened, and he smiled, "Really... why am I telling you this? Our Qingqing is still a child."

Jiang Qing just stared into his eyes without blinking, "I'm not a child."

Jiang Yan avoided looking at her, then rubbed her hair, stood up, and pulled Jiang Qing up with him.

"Let's go. It will be dark after the sun sets and the tide will rise soon."

Jiang Qing shifted his gaze to the sun in the distance which had been mostly swallowed by the sea level, silently took the hand that Jiang Yan extended, and left the beach.

The sea breeze blows up tiny grains of sand every morning and evening, subsiding and rising again as the sun sets.

...

Su He was a very competent assistant. When they were sightseeing yesterday, he took a lot of photos not far away, printed them out and gave them to Jiang Qing.

Jiang Qing flipped through the photos and her favorite one was the one where she and Jiang Yan were sitting on the beach. The camera framed them from behind, and they were frozen in the picture along with the sunset on the horizon.

This photo seemed to awaken some deeply buried memories in her mind. She felt dizzy for a moment and some of the photos in her hand fell to the ground.

Su He held her elbow and asked with concern: "Ms. Jiang Qing, are you okay?"

Jiang Qing steadied himself. He couldn't piece together the fragmented images in his mind. He shook his head slightly and said, "I'm fine." He squatted down and picked up all the photo papers.

Su He quietly observed Jiang Qing for a while, and only after confirming that she was really okay did he reveal the purpose of his visit.

"Ms. Jiang Qing, I have to borrow Mr. Jiang Yan today. He may not be able to accompany you."

Jiang Yan has a party that he can't postpone, so he has to go today.

Jiang Qing didn't really care and nodded.

Su He then arranged a driver for her so that she could go wherever she wanted.

Originally Jiang Qing had no plans to go out, but Xiao Qi said that he had seen an art store in the city yesterday that was in line with his aesthetic taste, so he asked Jiang Qing to take him to see it.

Jiang Qing had no choice but to pack up and go out, but she didn't expect to run into trouble again as soon as she went out.

She had just come out of the store and was about to walk towards her car left at the street corner when she saw a valuable luxury car stop in front of her.

Jiang Qing sometimes wondered that the followers of the Mo family were indeed like dogs, and would rush forward at the slightest smell of meat.

Smith got out of the car, politely straightened the wrinkles on his clothes caused by his sitting posture, and then walked in front of Jiang Qing.

"Ms. Jiang Qing, Mr. Mo wants to meet with you."

"I don't want to see him."

Jiang Qing took a step back and wanted to turn around and leave, only to find that they had people on both sides.

She frowned slightly, and her pretty face was cold at the moment.

"It turns out it's not an invitation, but a notification."

She didn't step back, but raised her chin slightly to let Smith make way, "I have to talk to the driver."

Smith's dark green eyes turned to Jiang Qing and then moved away without moving. The curve of his mouth expressed an emotion that Jiang Qing could not understand.

"Someone will tell him, Miss Jiang Qing, please get in the car."

Finally, he helped Jiang Qing into the car very politely.
