Western Fantasy: The Princess Wants to Save the World
Chapter 8 Departure
Gallup certainly knew Cecelia's voice-over.
But Cecilia was all he had.
He couldn't imagine what he would do if something happened to Cecilia during the journey.
"Father, I want to see the outside world and see with my own eyes what the kingdom you rule looks like."
Cecilia looked into Gallup's eyes and said, "Even if this incident with Duke Reynard hadn't happened, I would have proposed this idea to you, father. How about treating it as my twentieth birthday wish?"
Gallup took a deep breath and said, "Okay."
There is still a portrait of his wife Elena on his desk. Elena is holding a bouquet of white jasmine with a bright smile.
"But I will send a guard to go with you. If you don't agree, don't mention it again."
Cecilia nodded quickly and agreed, "Are you sending Valken to go with me?"
Gallup nodded. "If you don't want him to accompany you, you can change someone else."
Cecilia shook her head, "I think Valken is great," she lifted her skirt and saluted Gallup, "Then I'll go talk to him about the travel issue now."
Gallup nodded helplessly and let Cecilia leave.
After Cecilia left the study, Gallup picked up Elena's portrait and said sadly, "Our daughter has changed."
The office of the commander of the Royal Guard is outside the palace.
Cecilia arrived almost at the same time as the eunuch sent by Gallup.
The eunuch relayed Gallup's orders and left.
Cecilia sat in the guest seat of the office, "I need to discuss travel with you."
Valken put down his pen and waited for the princess to continue.
"I want to leave as soon as possible and get to Clifton Harbor as soon as possible, preferably tomorrow."
After Cecilia finished speaking, she looked at Valken, who was still waiting for Cecilia's other instructions.
After a moment of silence, Valken was the first to respond, "Okay, Your Highness, I will prepare a list of the people accompanying you on the trip and send it to Your Majesty and your palace today."
Cecilia nodded, "Thank you for your help."
Valken was terrified. "This is my job."
"Oh, by the way, I hope the accompanying knight of the Royal Guard can know a little bit of magic."
"Okay, I'll pay attention."
Cecilia stood up and thanked Valken again, "Thank you for taking care of me for the next half month."
Valken was horrified.
But Cecilia had already turned and left.
When Cecilia returned to the palace, she called the maids to help her pack her luggage, "The simpler the better."
The maids quickly helped Cecilia pack her things.
"I need a maid to accompany me, is there anyone willing?"
Several maids looked at each other, and the maid with rabbit ears raised her hand, "Princess, may I?"
Cecilia nodded, "Of course!" Then she looked at the remaining maids, "During the time when I'm not in the palace, those who live in Petra may have to work harder. They can come back from time to time during the day to clean up, and then they can leave. As for those who live far away and were unable to go home the day before yesterday, they can take a half-month vacation and come back after fifteen days."
Cecilia then looked at the bunny-eared maid and said, "It's not too late for you to regret now."
The bunny-eared maid hesitated for a moment.
Cecilia didn't push him, "It's okay, you can reply to me tomorrow morning."
The rabbit-eared girl instantly gave him a grateful look.
Cecilia smiled. She didn't necessarily need a maid to follow and take care of her. After all, she was a princess and it wouldn't be good to have no maid at all.
Cecilia's palace was extremely busy, and Gallup would send people to deliver some things from time to time.
Cecilia looked at the things the guards brought her, and was at a loss whether to laugh or cry.
A gorgeous-looking sword inlaid with diamonds; a stack of various magic talismans; a crystal ball; a large box of jewelry; a piece of clothing that is said to be able to resist any magic...
Cecilia stopped the guards who were carrying the things and said, "Tell the emperor not to search the treasury anymore. The president of the Magician's Guild will accompany him, so tell him not to worry."
In the Magicians' Guild outside the palace, Lorian, who was holding a meeting with guild members, sneezed.
Maybe because of the gimmick of the president of the Magicians' Guild, Gallup really didn't give away those messy magic props anymore.
But there were also other gifts.
Cecilia was even more helpless and had to have these things sent to the warehouse in her palace.
When setting out the next day, Cecilia finally put on a neat, simple and tight outfit.
Compared to the cumbersomeness of the big skirt, the restrictiveness of the tight outfit made Cecilia feel a lot more relaxed.
But she will find a way to improve this dress after she leaves Petra.
Phew, I can’t breathe anymore.
In the end, the rabbit-eared maid chose to accompany Cecilia on the road to Clifton Port.
Cecilia asked for the other party's home address and had someone send some money over.
Valken was waiting outside the palace with his selected twenty-man guards.
Gallup personally escorted Cecilia out of the palace. "Be careful on the way. If you don't want to go anytime, you can always go back home. Father is here."
Sometimes Cecilia really envied the original owner for having such a good father. She nodded to Gallup, "Okay, father."
The technological level of the continent of Swest has made a qualitative leap in the past four hundred years. Compared with Cecilia's original world scale, it is probably in the Victorian Steam Age.
Some machines have been invented, and the first car in the continent of Svest was also introduced in the twenty years.
When Cecilia stepped onto the car, she saw that next to the guards led by Valken there was a team of knights wearing uniforms different from those of the Royal Guards.
Cecilia looked at the leader of the team.
It's Mel.
Prince Mel, son of Prince Morpheus of Anatolia.
Cecilia had an impression of this name. Wasn't this the man of the same age that the original owner had kidnapped and brought back to the palace?
But why is he here?
The original owner's reputation could not have any substantial impact on Cecilia, but the other party looked disgusting and did not seem to have come voluntarily.
Cecilia called Valken and asked.
"His Majesty sent Prince Morphis to Duke Reynard's territory to investigate population, wealth, etc. The prince wanted to train the young prince, so he asked the young prince to go with his confidants."
Cecilia was silent. "They should leave Petra and go their separate ways, right?"
Valken chose his words, "His Majesty has ordered Prince Mel to take care of you on the way."
Cecilia understood, no wonder the other person had such a sour face.
I'm afraid you won't be bored on this journey.
The bunny-eared maid thought she had to walk behind the car all the way, but she heard the princess calling her, "Celine, get in the car."
Cecilia lowered the car window and looked at Celine at the end of the team, "Come on."
As Celine ran towards the carriage, she heard someone's voice, "Why are you pretending to be a good person here?"
