Before Su Yang could react, two more wolves rushed in from outside the cave, one on the left and one on the right, attacking Prisoner. She dodged the bite of the one on the left by moving sideways, while reaching out to grab the ear of the one on the right and slamming its head against the rock wall!

"boom--!"

"boom--!"

"boom--!"

The sound of the collision was so dull that it made people's teeth ache. The wolf's skull was quickly shattered, and red and white splashed all over the body. She pulled out the wolf's ribs with her backhand, and with the folding knife she had taken out from somewhere, she cut the ribs into a bone blade!

The wolf on the left lunged again. Prisoner Skeleton grasped the ribs and charged forward, the bone blade piercing the wolf's eye socket with pinpoint accuracy, sinking all the way to the handle! The wolf let out a short, wailing howl, its massive body collapsing to the ground with a thud, its limbs still twitching in vain.

In just ten minutes, three wolves died and the rest were injured and fled in a panic.

The cave was filled with the strong smell of blood, mixed with the dampness of rain, making one almost nauseous. Qiu Gu stood among the wolf corpses, his black hoodie soaked in blood, his face splattered with dark red, his eyes gleaming eerily in the darkness, like a Shura who had just crawled out of a pool of blood.

She pointed at the wolf's corpse with her still-bleeding finger: "There's meat to eat."

The strong smell spread in the narrow cave, which was simply unbearable. Su Yang's stomach was churning. He covered his mouth and rushed deeper into the cave, holding onto the rock wall and retching.

Behind her, she heard a dragging sound. It was Qiu Gu dragging the wolf carcasses out of the cave, probably because they were blocking the way. After a while, she came in, holding a relatively clean wolf skin. She spread it on the haystack and sat down. She closed her eyes as if to rest, but the stench of blood could not be dispelled.

Su Yang paused for a moment before turning back to look at her. Qiu Ge was leaning against the rock wall, his hat brim covering his face. He was breathing evenly, as if he were asleep.

He slowly moved to the corner farthest from the prisoner's skeleton and curled up, but he couldn't fall asleep. The scene just now kept appearing in his mind. The moment the bone blade pierced the wolf's eye, the arc of brain matter splattering, and the smile on her face that almost seemed to enjoy herself...

This guy is not human at all.

When the rain stopped, it was just dawn. The wolf carcass outside the cave was bleached white by the morning dew, and flies buzzed around it. Su Yang was awakened by the smell of blood. When he opened his eyes, he saw Qiu Gu squatting beside the wolf carcass, holding a piece of broken glass in his hand, slowly and methodically peeling the wolf meat with the skill of a butcher.

His stomach churned again, and he turned away, holding onto the rock wall to stand up. The swelling in his ankle had subsided a little, but it still hurt when he stepped on the ground.

He didn't look at the prisoner's skeleton, but walked straight out of the cave and moved in the direction where he found the wild fruits yesterday. If he stayed any longer, he was afraid that he would vomit out his gallbladder.

The footsteps behind him arrived as expected. Su Yang didn't need to look back to know that Qiu Gu was following him again, like a piece of dog-skin plaster that couldn't be shaken off.

He picked a few wild fruits from the fruit tree he'd been to the day before and slowly nibbled them while leaning against the trunk. Qiu Gu sat down on the rock beside him, fiddling with the blood-stained folding knife, the blade gleaming coldly in the morning light. She glanced at Su Yang and suddenly threw the knife towards him.

Su Yang subconsciously caught it, and the blood stains on the handle rubbed against his palm, making it sticky and disgusting. He frowned and threw the knife back: "Hey! Take it away."

Qiu Ge took it, took out a wild fruit from his pocket, wiped it on his clothes, and handed it to Su Yang.

Her clothes were covered in the smell of blood and residual brain matter, so it would be better not to wipe them off. Su Yang moved aside in disgust and kept his distance.

He finished his fruit and continued walking aimlessly. They walked in silence, their only sounds being the rustling of footsteps and leaves in the wind.

Su Yang would occasionally stop to observe the terrain or make a mark on the bark. Qiu Gu never interfered, but when Su Yang tripped over a vine, he would quietly help him up, so quickly that he thought it was an illusion.

Around noon, they reached an open, rocky beach. The sun was glaring, and there wasn't even a tree to provide shade. Exhausted, Su Yang found a shady rock to sit on. He pulled out some wild fruit he'd picked that morning and was about to eat it when Qiu Gu pulled something out of his arms: a piece of raw wolf meat wrapped in leaves.

She handed over the raw meat, her fingers still stained with unwashed blood.

"Ugh! You think I'll eat anything you want? Get out of here!"

Qiu Gu didn't force it. He withdrew his hand and started to gnaw on the wolf meat himself. There was blood on the corner of his mouth and his eyes were calm, as if he was eating some delicious barbecue.

Su Yang felt uneasy and simply closed his eyes and pretended to take a nap.

After an unknown amount of time, he was awakened by a chill.

He opened his eyes and found that the sun in the illusion was already setting. Qiu Gu sat beside him, took off her hoodie, and covered him with it. She was only wearing a thin T-shirt underneath. The wound on her arm had not yet healed, and it was glowing a fierce red in the sunset.

Su Yang suddenly pulled off his hoodie and threw it far away, his tone extremely bad: "Who told you to cover me with this rag! It's so dirty! It stinks! I think you wish I would catch an infectious disease and die!"

Qiu Ge picked up the clothes, but didn't put them on. He just held them in his arms. There was no emotion in his eyes, as if he didn't hear what he said.

When darkness fell, they found another cave. Su Yang curled up in a corner, his back to the cave entrance, pretending to sleep, but his ears were perked up, listening for the movements of the prisoner. He heard her building a fire at the cave entrance, the sound of her turning over the firewood, and even her humming a strange, tuneless tune that sounded like both crying and laughing.

In the middle of the night, the fire had gone out, leaving only a few sparks. Shivering in his sleep, Su Yang groggily moved toward the fire. Just then, he felt a sinking sensation, and the bloody hoodie fell back onto him.

As the morning light streamed into the cave, Su Yang felt a cool sensation on his ankle. He opened his eyes and saw Qiu Gu half-kneeling at his feet, holding a dark green paste in his hand and applying it to his ankle.

"Hey! What are you doing?" Su Yang suddenly retracted his foot.

Qiu Gu's hand froze in mid-air, and he grabbed his ankle again, forcibly applied the remaining herbs on it, and then wrapped it with torn linen strips. His movements were so fast that Su Yang had no room to resist.

“This grass reduces swelling.”

Su Yang stared at his bandaged ankle and wanted to scold her for meddling in other people's business, but he swallowed the words back. It was a waste of time to get angry with this crazy person.

After a while, he dragged his better feet out of the cave. Qiu Gu was squatting by the fire, roasting fish. The fish skin was roasted crispy, and oil droplets dripped into the fire, splashing sparks.

Su Yang found a rock farthest from the fire and sat down, lowering his head to tug at his clothes. These past few days of wandering around in the woods had torn them to shreds, stained with mud and blood, and emitting a sour, rancid stench, as if they had been fished out of a garbage dump.

He raised his hand and sniffed it carefully, his stomach churning and he ran to the bushes next to him to retch.

Su Yang stood up with the help of the tree trunk and saw Qiu Gu standing not far away, his brows tightly furrowed. His eyes fell on him with an indescribable disdain, but it seemed to be more than just disdain.

"What are you looking at! Haven't you seen a handsome guy vomiting acid? Get away from me!" Su Yang shouted in a hoarse voice, with more embarrassment than anger in his voice.

The prisoner turned around and walked back to the fire, wrapped the roasted fish in leaves and placed it on the stone. He walked further away and sat down against an old tree, watching him from a distance, as if observing some strange creature.

Su Yang didn't touch the fish. His mind was now filled with the stench of his body; even breathing was choking. He dragged his feet deeper into the woods, looking for a clean puddle to wipe his face, when the slow, unhurried footsteps of Qiu Gu followed him.

After walking for about an hour, Su Yang was so exhausted that he stopped at the foot of a huge banyan tree. The tree's roots twisted and twisted, forming a natural seat. He leaned back and sat down. His eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and soon he fell into a deep sleep.

When I woke up again, the sun was already setting.

"It's dark? Time passes so quickly in this illusion..." Su Yang muttered to himself, and subconsciously looked to the side, but it was empty.

The prisoner's bones are not there.

He stood up and looked around. The forest was very quiet. There was only the sound of wind blowing through the leaves, and not even a bird singing.

Where has she gone?

Just as I was wondering, I heard footsteps behind me. Qiu Gu walked out of the woods with a pile of things in his arms, wrapped in cloth, and bulging.

She walked up to Su Yang and threw the package to the ground. The cloth opened, revealing the items inside: a new light blue T-shirt, a pair of expensive khaki pants, a pair of the latest sneakers, and even a pair of underwear.

It goes without saying that it must have been stolen.
