Good luck every time

Chapter 50: Mixed Public Opinion

Three women were walking side by side on a small, rarely visited path in the village.

Two of them were older, and the one sandwiched between them was younger, around thirty years old.

"Sixth sister-in-law, why are you here?"

The person on her left, called Sixth Sister-in-law, showed a gossipy and ambiguous look, patted her arm, laughed, and then leaned close to her and whispered in her ear.

"Let me tell you, I discovered something..."

Mrs. Han Liu is the most famous loudmouth in the village, and she always wants to join in on the fun.

Today, I was basking in the sun outside my house when I heard Li Zhuzi muttering something like "I'm starving, I miss my sister" as he walked towards the end of the village.

She thought of Li Pandi's leaving the clan a few days ago, and her curiosity was piqued.

Sure enough, she followed and found a big melon.

"I saw the kid who wanted to sell his sister to the building a few days ago! He said he was starving and wanted to go look for his sister."

With this beginning, Sun Si Niang on the other side also grinned.

"I never realized before that Chief Li is quite wicked!"

"The chubby child became so skinny due to hunger. He said he wanted to starve the child to death. Then the two acres of land belonging to the child would belong to him."

"No way? My Sixth Uncle is not that kind of person. You must be overthinking it."

I originally just wanted to spread some gossip, but I didn't expect it to be denied.

They both confronted her at the same time.

"You are just too young!"

"You really don't understand this..."

They all showed a look of disdain and slight contempt.

What's the point of sharing gossip?

Is it sharing?

Of course not, but the sense of accomplishment of discovering the truth.

This person is really not good enough. He denies the prerequisite right from the start. How can he find out the truth?

Han Liusaozi and Sun Si Niang immediately pulled the person who affected their joy to the opposite side of the trench.

As he walked, he talked here and there.

"Your clan leader has been going too far these years. I won't talk about this incident. Last time, they helped to match my aunt's neighbor's second daughter with a girl. They said she was rich, powerful and of the same age, but after she married him, I found out that he was a fool."

The man in the middle heard about this and quickly refuted it.

"I know about this. I've said before that my brain isn't working very well. They agreed to this themselves."

"Oh my! He agreed to it himself! Just listen to how a good man can act as a matchmaker for such a beautiful young lady. I also heard that the idiot is a relative of his daughter-in-law's family in that county."

When Sun Si Niang talked about this, she had something to say.

"Speaking of this, has Patriarch Li taken a liking to Li Zhaodi?"

"I seem to have heard that Li Dacheng's wife's family is quite powerful and overbearing. The family has a bad atmosphere and the surrounding villages are unwilling to marry their daughters there."

Mrs. Han Liu immediately took over the conversation without waiting for the person in the middle to speak.

"I also heard that this time the guy was even worse. He beat his wife to death. Later, the family bought a maid and also beat her to death."

"Really? How do you know?"

Sun Si Niang admires Han Liusaozi a little bit. Her information network is so wide.

Mrs. Han Liu was somewhat pleased.

"Isn't my mother's family from Liujiagou? My eldest sister-in-law married from there. Let me tell you, my eldest sister-in-law is four or five years older than that guy. I went back to ask about it when my father celebrated his birthday a few days ago."

"Oh... that person is really a piece of shit. He has been a bad person since he was a child."

After hearing what Han Liu's wife said, Sun Si Niang was amazed.

"Tsk tsk tsk, she is only four or five years younger than your sister-in-law. If she is married to Li Zhaodi, there will be too much difference between them. There is a generation gap between them."

Mrs. Han Liu slapped her thigh.

"That's exactly what I'm saying! How old is Li Zhaodi? Twelve or thirteen, maybe! That guy is already thirty-three or thirty-four, more than twenty years younger, older than Li Dagui."

Li Wu Gu, who was caught between the two, finally couldn't stand it anymore.

"Ah, what you said is not true at all. The clan leader never said that Li Zhaodi should marry him. That's all Li Pandi's nonsense."

"If you ask me, that girl Li Pandi is a worthless person. She is destroying her elder sister's reputation by saying that."

Sun Si Niang didn't have much feeling about this matter at first, but because she had an opponent, she developed a strong desire to win.

"Is this still a clue? Otherwise why would he starve Li Zhuzi so much? I think he wanted Li Zhuzi to cry miserably to his sister so that Li Zhaodi would soften her heart."

Mrs. Han Liu immediately stood on Sun Si Niang's side.

"That's what I think. Even if Li Zhuzi is poor, he still has two acres of land. He can't even have enough food to eat with two acres of land. His sister is afraid of being sold, so she lives in the old blind lady's yard. She has no place to eat, drink, defecate or urinate. He still goes to cry. Isn't that forcing his sister to marry and ask for a dowry?"

Sun Si Niang responded immediately.

"That's right, he even sold his own sister, and he still has the nerve to cry. If it were my brother, I would beat him to death."

After saying this, Sun Si Niang seemed to remember something and continued.

"By the way, this is quite mysterious. How could an eight-year-old child be so bad?!"

Han Liu's sister-in-law sneered.

"You guys! You can't even tell. You must be behind this. How can a good person resist such instigation?"

After Han Liu's sister-in-law despised the two of them for being stupid, she leaned closer and whispered.

"During this lean period, his mother died and he had to pay a lot of money. His family didn't have enough food and had never experienced hard times. He wanted to sell his sister when he was persuaded! I guess the people who gave him advice had already arranged the way for him."

Sun Si Niang was shocked.

"That means if my sister sells her property and her child starves to death, the remaining money and land will belong to the clan!"

Li Wu Gu took a deep breath and quickly pushed their heads which were almost touching.

"I'll make you realize that there are no good people in this world! You guys are talking as if it were true. How did that girl know to open an account in advance? It's not certain what happened. That girl's mind is not as simple as you say. Just wait and see!"

After saying that, she became a little annoyed, squeezed out from between the two people and walked forward.

Seeing her disrespectful look, Han Liu's wife and Sun Si Niang were both a little unhappy. They snorted as they watched her leave.

"I think this branch of theirs is full of evil hearts. The brother sold out the sister, and the clan leader cheated people of their land. She can use this to talk about other people's household registration. If it were me, I would also set up a household registration if the clan leader cheated my family of their land."

Mrs. Han Liu said a few words quickly.

Sun Si Niang also followed suit and boasted.

"I think it's a good idea for Li Zhaodi and Li Pandi to leave the Li family."

Patriarch Li didn't know that Aunt Li Wu had completely offended two important gossipmongers in the village.

The two of them quickly went to the entrance of the village and spread the story that they had just seen Li Zhuzi and heard Li Ruyi crying, and then they were caught by Li Wu Gu, who wanted to pull her in to gossip but failed.

For a while, there was a commotion in the village over whether Patriarch Li was a good person.

Those who thought that Patriarch Li was a bad person dug up all his past.

Those who think that Patriarch Li is a good person use all the vicious words they have learned in their life to describe Li Ruyi, saying that she is unfilial and disrespectful to her elders. They also say that she has a vicious mind at a young age and that anyone who marries her will be unlucky for the rest of his life!

They must nail the other party to the pillar of shame to prove the character of Patriarch Li.

When the sun set, the voices of public opinion had not stopped and had even spread to the kangs of every household.
