Zongman, Rebirth of the Heaven-Defying Kirito

Chapter 506 I'm Down on My Luck, Family

As CC entered the room, the first thing she did was put the huge backpack on her shoulder in the corner.

Then she walked to the window and reached out to pull back the curtains.

In an instant, sunlight streamed into the room through the glass window, revealing a breathtaking view overlooking half of Academy City.

CC narrowed her eyes slightly: "The scenery here is more peculiar than any city I've ever been to."

Kirito didn't disturb the two of them too much, but simply handed CC a communication device that looked like a cell phone: "If you encounter any trouble, feel free to contact me."

CC watched Kirito turn and leave, muttering to herself, "What a weirdo..."

Such unreserved help from the other party even made her mistakenly believe that her ability to 'be loved' had been activated.

After seeing Kirito off, CC returned to her room.

Although she now has a stable place to live, she has not relaxed.

The mission to find the C ruins is not yet complete, and Lelouch's condition needs to be monitored closely.

As noon approached, CC took out the ingredients from her backpack.

She skillfully operated the automatic cooking equipment in the kitchen and soon finished preparing lunch for the two of them.

Lelouch hid in the corner, too afraid to come out.

CC then carried the food over, squatted down, blew on it to cool it down, and then fed it to the other person's mouth.

She ate bite by bite until she was sure he was full before she cleared away the dishes.

After dinner, CC took out all the clothes that had gotten dirty during the trip and put them in the automatic washing machine in the room.

Then, she took out several damaged pieces of equipment from her backpack.

That was the instrument she used to probe the ruins; it had been damaged by the mechanical hounds in the previous battle.

She sat on the carpet, took out her toolbox, and carefully disassembled and repaired the parts.

By the time everything was finished, the sky outside the window had gradually darkened, and the afterglow of the setting sun bathed the room in a warm orange-red hue.

CC stretched and turned to look in Lelouch's direction, only to find him curled up in the corner, fast asleep.

It's rare for him to quiet down, but sleeping in the corner isn't a solution either.

"He's such a worry." C.C. sighed helplessly, stepped forward, and gently dragged Lelouch up from the ground.

"If you want to sleep, you should go to the bed." Her movements were very gentle.

Perhaps the past few days of travel had left him too exhausted, for Lelouch did not wake up despite her movements.

C.C. gently placed Lelouch on the bed, covered him with a blanket, and then wiped the sweat from her forehead.

Just then, a cool evening breeze blew in through the window, stirring the curtains.

CC walked to the window and looked at the city lights gradually coming on outside. A thought suddenly popped into her mind: Let's go and see this city. Maybe we can find some useful clues.

Of course, before leaving, she had to make thorough preparations and eliminate any possible accidents.

CC first closed the window tightly, and then used the rope in her backpack to secure the window frame.

Then, she walked to the door and placed a chair behind it.

This was solely to ensure that Lelouch wouldn't run around in fear or even jump out of the window after waking up.

After doing all this, she left the room with peace of mind and walked alone towards the hotel rooftop.

The wind on the rooftop was stronger than inside the room, blowing CC's long green hair.

She walked to the edge of the rooftop and looked down at the entire Academy City.

The city is more beautiful at night than during the day. The lights outline the silhouettes of the skyscrapers, and the maglev train speeds along the track like a flowing ribbon of light.

“A nice city,” CC said softly, her most objective assessment of Academy City.

She leaned against the railing, letting the night breeze caress her face, and began to recall the day's events.

First, they were hunted by unknown mechanical monsters, then they were rescued and settled in this unfamiliar city.

It all happened so fast that she was somewhat dazed.

"Speaking of which, what exactly are those monsters?" CC muttered to herself.

It looks like a machine driven by gears, but is that even possible?

It's absurd to think about.

After a moment's thought, CC took the Explorer out of his pocket, pressed the power button, and the screen lit up.

The words "No region found" displayed above are unusually prominent.

She frowned: "Academy City...where am I?"

I've never heard of this name, and I can't find it on any map. Could I have ended up in some unknown country?

But she quickly shook her head, suppressing the thought.

Thinking about these things now is useless; her primary task is to find the C Ruins and awaken Lelouch.

So she opened the explorer's electronic map, which clearly marked dozens of red dots. These were the locations she had identified as potential ruins.

CC swiped her finger across the screen, found the ruins she had visited not long ago, and put an X on them.

Then, she selected the location closest to the cross: "Let's go check this out next."

The next day at noon, Kirito planned to come and check on the situation.

But before he could even reach the door, he heard a loud commotion coming from inside the room.

First came the crisp sound of bowls and plates clattering together, followed by a "bang," as if someone had fallen to the ground.

Then, C.C. gently reassured him, "It's alright, Lelouch, it's safe here..."

After a long while, the room finally quieted down.

Kirito gently knocked on the door with his hand, which had been hovering in mid-air.

The door was quickly opened, and Kirito looked up and froze instantly.

CC was covered in brown soup, her long green hair was mixed with a few pieces of unknown vegetable leaves, and even her cheeks were splattered with dirt, making her look extremely disheveled.

"What's going on here...?" Kirito asked, his gaze unconsciously glancing into the room.

CC said in a flat tone, "I'm sorry you had to see this."

She didn't explain, but stepped aside to let Kirito come in.

Kirito entered the room, and the scene before him surprised him even more.

The dining table was overturned, bowls and plates were broken, and food and soup were splattered everywhere.

In the corner, Lelouch was curled up, his hands covering his head, his body still trembling slightly; he was clearly the culprit behind the chaos.

Ignoring the stains on her clothes, CC immediately picked up a broom and rag and began cleaning up the mess.

Her movements were practiced, clearly indicating that this wasn't the first time she had handled such a situation.

Kirito watched her busy figure and couldn't help but ask again, "Is his condition... very common?"

He was referring to Lelouch's loss of control.

CC didn't even look up, and said indifferently, "Anyway, I'm used to it."

It's truly unbelievable that the once spirited and shrewd Lu P has turned out like this.

Not only is he unable to take care of himself, but he also gets out of control from time to time.

The thought of mocking him had vanished completely, leaving only a pang of heartache.

We've really fallen on hard times, family.

"Let me help you." Kirito bent down and joined CC in tidying up the messy scene.

After a while, the two of them finally finished cleaning the room.

Kirito took two slices of pizza out of his backpack and placed them on the table: "You guys probably haven't eaten yet, right? Why don't you eat this first? It's easier than cooking."

CC sat down at the table and said in a serious tone, "Thank you for the treat."

After saying that, he tore open the packaging and started eating.

Kirito sat opposite her, watching her eat. After hesitating for a moment, he couldn't help but ask, "Can I ask you a question?"

CC, still chewing on pizza, nodded in agreement.

"Why did he become like this?" Kirito pointed to Lelouch, who was still trembling in the corner, his tone filled with curiosity.
