Zongman, Rebirth of the Heaven-Defying Kirito
Chapter 401 BOSS Strategy Meeting
In a high-class conference room in an office building, hundreds of players gathered to discuss matters related to the BOSS, Accelerator.
Essentially, this was a meeting about BOSS strategies.
That's such a long time ago. Since the launch of SAO, it seems that only the first floor strategy was ever held. After that, such strategy meetings were abandoned and never appeared again.
It's not that there were none at all, but rather that the scope of the meeting was reduced from the general player base to individual guilds.
After all, once you've tasted the benefits of being the first to kill the boss, everyone wants their guild to take it down.
Putting aside the dropped equipment and massive experience points, even just having the players who participated in the strategy recorded in the inscription would be a very prestigious thing.
For the reasons mentioned above, subsequent strategy meetings were all held quietly within each guild after they obtained information about the BOSS. They couldn't let others know about this kind of sneaky way of getting the benefits.
As Tilberu, the host of the meeting, took the stage, the volume of the discussion decreased slightly.
After all, he had rented this place for 10,000 kor per hour, so he had to give him some face.
Tilberu stepped onto the stage, placed his hands on the conference table, and scanned the room: "I'm sure everyone is aware of the battle this morning. The BOSS on this floor killed five hundred players in a row, and that doesn't even include the number of lone wolves and tourist players."
A player immediately spoke up below:
"It's just five hundred players. It just means that the BOSS we're facing this time is very powerful, that's all."
“That’s right. Besides, this is only our first time meeting the BOSS. I don’t think there’s any need to make a big fuss.”
Tilberu shook his head. Those who spoke were all representatives of the top guilds, who ultimately wanted to go back and take on the BOSS on their own.
He paused for a moment and then continued, "My purpose in inviting everyone is certainly not just this. I wonder if you all still remember the BOSS on the tenth floor?"
"The tenth floor boss?"
"I remember that server-wide strategy event again, where the opponent was 'Witch's Night'. I remember it very clearly."
"Yeah, that time I had so much fun playing with guns."
Even players who didn't witness the boss battle firsthand were stunned by the vivid descriptions from the players around them.
Firearms resupply, colossal bosses, bizarre scenes...
That sounds really interesting.
Suddenly, one of the players realized something: "Wait, the tenth floor... the twentieth floor!"
After that sound, the entire conference hall fell silent for a few seconds.
Until someone asked Tilberu, "Could it be the twentieth floor...?"
Tilberu nodded: "Very likely. Based on the data we have so far, the BOSS on this floor is far more powerful than the ordinary BOSS."
Upon hearing this, some players jumped up excitedly, shouting "Awesome!"
Some players sat silently, their eyes occasionally flashing with thoughtful clarity.
Although they had different ideas, they were all undoubtedly looking forward to this grand BOSS event.
No wonder I received a mission notification as soon as I reached the twentieth floor; the bigger one was still hidden!
Kirito never expected that his simple request for help from these players would lead to such a sophisticated understanding.
That's right, Kirito was sitting among the crowd, wearing the 'Hidden Cloak'.
After listening to these players' unfounded speculations, he felt completely numb.
I really didn't expect it could be done like this!
The meeting continues.
Someone asked, "So what is the purpose of this strategy meeting?"
"The goal, of course, is to combine everyone's strength to defeat the BOSS." Tilberu said confidently, "If it's really as I think, it's impossible to do it with just a small group of players, so let's fight together!"
"Join forces!"
For a time, the phrase "fighting together" was heard everywhere.
The atmosphere in the conference hall was completely energized, with everyone looking excited and eager to try.
Tiberlu was very satisfied to see that everyone was cooperating well, so he nodded and signaled for everyone to quiet down.
"First, I need everyone to talk in detail about the battle, including the 'Accelerator' you encountered, what were its attack methods? Did it show any weaknesses? Or was there anything unusual?"
Several representatives stood up and spoke, but they all talked about how powerful the BOSS was, how invincible it was in close combat and how it could attack from a distance.
A brief silence fell over the meeting room, followed by a few people raising their hands to speak, though some added their own points, the content remained largely the same.
Everyone chimed in with their own opinions, but they were all just describing Accelerator's power; no one could offer an effective countermeasure.
Suddenly, someone in the corner shakily raised their hand.
The man was wearing a black overcoat with a hood; he was a player dressed as an assassin.
Tilberu was somewhat surprised. If the words of the members of the large guilds in the front row were useless, how much better could the players of the small forces in the back row be?
However, he still gestured for the other person to speak: "Go ahead, don't be nervous."
The assassin player took a deep breath and stood up: "I...I think the BOSS's ability isn't just about strength or speed, his ability is probably...reflection."
"Reflection?" This question, like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, instantly ignited the atmosphere in the room.
What does "reflection" mean?
"Does that mean he can reflect attacks?"
"Then our attack was completely wasted?"
The hundreds of players started discussing amongst themselves, and their voices grew louder and louder, making the conference room noisy.
"Quiet!" Tilberu commanded in a deep voice, then gestured for the assassin to continue.
The assassin player gripped the dagger tightly, as if finding courage in the weapon: "When I ambushed him this morning, I had already succeeded, but suddenly a huge force came from the dagger. It wasn't that he exerted force on his own; it was more like my attack was being forcefully bounced back."
His words made many players realize the truth.
A player with a greatsword slapped his thigh: "Yeah! When I attacked him, I was also knocked away. At the time, I thought it was because of his incredible strength, but now that I think about it, it might actually be a reflection!"
Then more players said similar things.
Tilberu nodded in satisfaction, a glint in his eyes: "Very good, this is the biggest progress of today's meeting."
"If the BOSS's ability is really reflection, then our attacks will be useless. How can we defeat it?" someone questioned.
"First of all, the developers would never design an invincible boss; that's the premise of the game SAO."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Then Tilberu smiled confidently: "That makes things much simpler!"
