Devil's Army

Chapter 874 Japanese Special Forces Operation

The golden eagle fiercely blocked the Japanese soldiers who attempted to pursue the anti-Japanese armed forces, and only flew away after all the bullets in its abdomen were emptied.

By this time, the anti-Japanese armed forces had gone far away, and the Japanese reinforcements in Tianjin could only watch in despair.

Captain Wei caught up with the anti-Japanese armed forces and told a soldier that he wanted to see their commander.

The soldier did not know Captain Wei and refused to introduce him.

While the two sides were talking, a greeting came from the left front of Captain Wei:

"Zhigang?"

Captain Wei looked up and was surprised to find that it was Captain Tu Jun of the First Squadron of the Special Operations Team, from whom there had been no news.

"Captain Tu, why are you here? Where have you been?"

"It's a long story. Where is the main force?"

"There's no large army here. It's just Zhao Shutong and I who followed the Japanese from Tianjin. The Japanese shouldn't be able to catch up with us. Shall we find a place to sit down and rest?"

Captain Tu ordered the troops to rest on the spot. He asked Captain Wei:

"Where is the main force now? How did you track this enemy force in Tianjin?"

"The area south of Sanhe County is now under the jurisdiction of our First Army. We are carrying out a special mission in Tianjin. By the way, where have you been during this period? There are quite a few new faces." Captain Wei asked Captain Tu while looking at the army of more than 100 people.

"We fought fiercely in the battle of Tianjin, and half of our troops were killed. We then followed the 37th Independent Brigade of the 27th Division to Chahar."

Captain Tu paused for a moment and then continued:

"While we were fighting the Japanese in Chahar, we were also keeping an eye on news from Tianjin and Beijing. Some time ago, I heard that Japanese planes were shot down by a pointed-nosed aircraft in Tangshan. I guessed that they were from our First Army, so I brought them back."

"Captain Tu, how many members are left in your squadron?"

"We still had 78 members when we retreated from Tianjin. Twelve of us died in the battle with the Japanese in Chahar."

These team members were carefully selected and trained, and it can be seen that Captain Tu is very upset.

"They were the troops we encountered during our battles with the Japanese in Chahar and on the way back."

"Captain Tu, you are much better than us. We fought all the way here, and only 36 members of the Second Squadron are left. He Xiaoguang and Deng Taiyuan also died two days ago."

"Why are you fighting the Japanese here in Jinghai County?"

"When we were passing through Jinghai County, we encountered a Japanese patrol. We wanted to make a quick decision, but we were entangled by the Japanese garrison in Jinghai County. Then the Japanese reinforcements from Tianjin came. If it weren't for the help of the Golden Eagle, we don't know what would have happened to us."

"Isn't it all out? By the way, Captain Tu, I want to discuss something with you."

"What is it, you say?"

"He Xiaoguang and his team died a few days ago. We are short of manpower here. I wanted to go back to Sanhe County to transfer two team members. Now that I have met you, I want you to arrange two special forces members to help."

“That’s fine.”

"Captain Tu, I have another mission. I'll ask Xiao Zhao to take you back to Sanhe County. We'll go back to Tianjin first."

"Okay." Captain Tu then said to the two special forces members beside him:

"You two will go back to Tianjin with Captain Wei to handle the affairs and follow Captain Wei's arrangements."

"Yes!"

The two special forces members saluted Captain Tu and returned to Tianjin with Captain Wei. Zhao Shutong also took Captain Tu and his men to Sanhe County.

When Captain Wei returned to Tianjin, the boss of the intelligence station immediately came forward to greet him. Just as he was about to say something, he saw two strangers following Captain Wei and immediately asked:

"Sir, what can I buy?"

Captain Wei nodded to the boss and took two special forces members to the inner room.

"Boss Cao, we just lost two members. These two members were transferred from the headquarters and are our own people."

Upon hearing this, Boss Cao breathed a sigh of relief and asked:

"Captain Wei, have you found out? What kind of unit is this devil's army?"

Captain Wei shook his head and replied disappointedly:

"This is just an ordinary Japanese army unit. They went to Jinghai County to encircle and suppress our troops. Was there any major movement in the military camp after we left?"

"No."

Since no one was found, the only option was to reconnoitre. The golden eagle began to scout back and forth over Tianjin's South Gate and North Gate.

After lunch, the Eighth Route Army intelligence officer outside the military camp in the north of Tianjin brought new information: four trucks drove out of the military camp, followed by a squadron of Japanese soldiers. And judging from the load of the trucks, these four trucks seemed to be empty.

Captain Wei and Boss Cao were both puzzled. Where were the Japanese going with four air force vehicles? The only explanation was that the special forces were not in the barracks, and the empty vehicles were going to pick them up.

It can also be judged from the information transmitted by the Golden Eagle at the North Gate that these air force vehicles did not leave the North Gate.

After a while, the special forces pointed at the intelligence sent by the golden eagle and shouted:

"Captain, there's a situation."

"Captain Wei, these four vehicles are obviously much heavier."

The Eighth Route Army intelligence officer who was conducting reconnaissance outside the Japanese military camp in northern Tianjin pointed to the image sent by the golden eagle and said.

The timing also confirmed Captain Wei and Boss Cao's guess that the Japanese special forces were not in the barracks, and the four military vehicles just now were going to pick them up.

But what kind of unit was this special unit of the Japanese army? Why didn't they live in the barracks?
