Devil's Army

The Jackal arrived in Hangzhou and, after asking around, ended up at the Jianqiao Aircraft Manufacturing Factory.

The Jianqiao Aircraft Factory was under military control at the time, and the gate was guarded by guards from the Nanjing government. No one except employees of the factory could enter.

The jackal was wandering outside, thinking about how to get in.

In the evening, two older men walked out of the gate of the aircraft factory and came to the tavern opposite.

The Jackal followed him into the tavern and sat down at the table next to them.

Jackal sat nearby and listened for a while. The other party was talking about topics related to aircraft manufacturing. So he approached and tried to get close to him:

"Hello, are you technicians from the Jianqiao Aircraft Manufacturing Plant?"

The other party looked at the jackal warily, and one of them said calmly:

"No, we are just a bunch of chores."

"How can a handyman know so many professional terms in aircraft manufacturing? Is that a lie?" The Jackal knew that the other party was wary of him, but he did not say it out loud. He just asked them:

"Excuse me, do you know Xiong X and Gao XX?"

The other party stared at the jackal seriously for a while and replied:

"do not know."

These two people were experts in aircraft manufacturing. It was said that they had moved from the Fengtian Aircraft Manufacturing Plant to the Jiangqiao Aircraft Manufacturing Plant. Even ordinary workers would recognize them. So the Jackal thought that they were still on guard and unwilling to tell him the truth.

"Then do you know Luo XX?"

Jackal still did not give up. He had no way to go into the Jianqiao Aircraft Manufacturing Factory or the Jianqiao Aviation School to look for people, so he could only ask people outside.

The two men looked at each other, and the one with glasses on the left said to the jackal:

"know."

God helps those who work hard, and the jackal was very happy. He thanked the man with glasses again and again.

"What do you want from him?" asked the man with glasses.

"I need to see him for something. Can you help me make an appointment with him?" This was a Kuomintang-controlled area. It was impossible for Jackal to openly tell him that he wanted to bring him to the tribe to research and manufacture airplanes. He could only give him an ambiguous answer.

"Okay, I'll ask him to come over at this time tomorrow afternoon." The two men looked at each other again, and the man with glasses said to the Jackal.

"Okay, I will be there on time. This meal is on me, thank you." The jackal knew that as long as he found one person, he could find a group of people.

"Shall we go back first?" the man with glasses asked his friend.

His friend nodded, and the two of them took the leftover food and wine back to the Jiangqiao Aircraft Manufacturing Factory.

After seeing the two of them off, the Jackal had nothing to do, so he took a walk outside.

Hangzhou is now under the control of the Kuomintang. Although the atmosphere is not as terrifying as that in the Japanese-occupied area, the pedestrians on the road are in a hurry, busy making a living. They are not as leisurely as the people in the tribe.

The Jianqiao Aviation School and the Jianqiao Aircraft Manufacturing Plant have been merged together. Jackal wants to get to know some more teachers at the Aviation School through Luo XX tomorrow, so that the training of pilots and the production of aircraft can be carried out simultaneously.

The Jackal was thinking about something when he bumped into a major when turning a corner in the street.

"Have you no eyes?" the major shouted at the jackal.

The major wanted to scold the jackal, but a captain beside him stopped him and said:

The major glared at the jackal and hurried away with the captain.

"I'm so unlucky. I bump into people while walking. I don't know if tomorrow will be smooth." The Jackal thought as he walked back to the inn.

As the Jackal expected, time came to the evening of the next day, and he hurried to the tavern.

The man with glasses had already been sitting at a table waiting; his friend did not come that day.

The most important thing is that the tables next to the man with glasses are full of guests.

The Jackal knew by instinct that these people were not good people. They were not interested in drinking and kept looking around.

As soon as the Jackal entered the tavern he noticed that they were keeping an eye on him.

The Jackal walked up to the man with glasses, pulled out a stool and sat down.

The man with glasses nodded to a man behind him, and five men from the nearby tables gathered around him, pointing five pistols at the Jackal.

"What do you want to do?" the Jackal shouted at them.

"I should be the one asking you this. Why are you asking around about important people in our important units?" a man in a baseball cap asked coldly.

"I just came to Hangzhou to catch up with some friends."

"You're looking for some friends to reminisce about the past, but these friends of yours are all important figures in our important units? It doesn't matter if you don't say anything now, take them away first, and we'll talk somewhere else."

One of them searched the jackal's body without saying a word, but found no weapons.

The man in the baseball cap waved at them, and his men tied up the jackal tightly and took it away.
