The 4th Regiment also advanced along the official road from the small road, recaptured Xuliang Town, Baishan Town, Changping Township and other places, and arrived outside the east gate of Qinyang County.

The First Battalion of the Fourth Regiment took a short rest and then launched an attack on Qinyang County.

After crossing the Dan River Gorge, the Third Regiment successively recovered Baixiang Town, Wangzhao Township and other places, and arrived outside the north gate of Qinyang County.

After a short rest, the First Battalion of the Third Regiment immediately launched an attack on Qinyang County.

With the support of the air force, the 1st Brigade successfully recaptured Qinyang County in the afternoon.

At this time, the main forces of the First Brigade, the First Regiment and the Second Regiment were attacking Meng County.

The First Brigade Commander left the Third Regiment to clear out the remaining Japanese and puppet troops in Qinyang County. The Fourth Regiment continued southward into Meng County and began to clear out the Japanese and puppet troops' strongholds in the surrounding towns and villages.

Fierce gunfire and explosions were heard around Meng County.

In order to prevent the Japanese troops from Luoyang and Zhengzhou on the south bank of the Yellow River from rushing to reinforce, more than 10,000 people from the Jidong Independent Brigade deployed defenses along the Yellow River in Xinxiang all the way to the Yellow River in Mengxian.

The First Army Air Force also increased patrols along the Yellow River.

In order to maintain a bridgehead position on the north bank of the Yellow River, Commander Hata Shunroku decided to reinforce Mengxian.

The Japanese troops in Zhengzhou and Luoyang, who had just retreated, had not even had time to relax before they had to march quickly to Jiaozuo.
