At that time, due to the important strategic location of Qiqihar, the Japanese army had several strongholds in Qiqihar:

The Third Front Army Headquarters: code-named Unit 13, stationed in Dongshulin, Qiqihar.

The 14th Division Headquarters: affiliated with the 18th Unit of the Japanese Army, stationed on Zhengyang Street in Qiqihar City.

Second Air Force Headquarters: Located at the Japanese Shrine in Qiqihar City, near Gate 3 of Longsha Park today.

(After the fall of Harbin Majiagou Airport, Qiqihar Airport was immediately relocated due to its proximity to Majiagou Airport. Most of the Second Air Force Command was also immediately relocated and their whereabouts are unknown.)

The 59th Infantry Regiment: codenamed the 209th Unit, stationed in the South Camp of Qiqihar, now within the compound of the First Machine Tool Factory.

46th Infantry Regiment: stationed in the East Camp of Qiqihar, east of today's East Market.

The 14th Engineer Regiment: stationed in Beidaying, Qiqihar, now in the Jianhua Factory yard.

Qiqihar Japanese Military Police Headquarters: Located inside the Military Police Headquarters.

Army Chemical Research Institute: code-named Unit 516, stationed near the intersection of Nanpu Road and Shuguang Avenue in Qiqihar City.

Qiqihar Branch of the Kwantung Army Field Freight Yard: codenamed the 300rd Unit, stationed south of Qiqihar Nandaying, about meters southwest of the railway station.

Qiqihar Branch of the Kwantung Army Field Weapons Factory: codenamed Unit 76, stationed in the northeastern suburbs of Qiqihar, near the present-day No. 2 Plastic Factory.

In addition, the Japanese army’s stronghold in Qiqihar also includes the "Big Black Bunker" located in the southwestern suburbs. It is a large cone-shaped bunker built in 1937, integrating functions such as garrisoning troops, storage, command, and communication.

After the Second Regiment of the Fourth Regiment broke through the Japanese defense line in Qiqihar from the direction of Heihe, the 46th Regiment of the Japanese Army retreated to Dongdaying and continued fighting.

The artillery of the 4th Brigade launched a fierce attack on the Japanese Beidaying, but was met with fierce counterattacks from the Japanese artillery inside the Beidaying.

On September 1931, 9, the Japanese army bombarded our Beidaying in Fengtian, firing the first shot of the September 18th Incident. Eleven years and more than three months later, the First Anti-Japanese Army bombarded the Japanese Beidaying, sounding the death knell for the Japanese army in Qiqihar.

Seeing that he could not achieve victory quickly, the commander of the Fourth Regiment left part of the Second Regiment to launch a feint attack, and he himself led the Fourth Regiment to quickly turn northeast.

In order to achieve the effect of a surprise attack, the commander of the Fourth Regiment specially arranged for the golden eagle to explore the way ahead and bypass the Japanese patrols and sentries.

In the evening, when the afterglow of the sun covered the earth with a layer of gold, the guards of the Kwantung Army Field Weapons Factory discovered that a troop was marching towards them in a hurry.

At first, the guards thought they were friendly troops sent to reinforce their defense. But then they noticed that their clothes were different from their own and immediately shouted:

"Who is it?" But the vanguard of the Fourth Regiment did not answer and responded with bullets.

The Japanese guards raised their guns to scare the enemy, but were eventually knocked down by the soldiers of the Fourth Brigade who had taken the initiative.

After knocking down the guards at the gate of the arsenal, the soldiers of the Fourth Brigade split into three groups, one group attacked the arsenal directly, and the other two groups occupied the high-rise buildings on both sides of the arsenal.

The defense forces on both sides of the arsenal rushed over to reinforce the arsenal, but were blocked by the 4th Regiment troops on the left and right, and a fierce battle broke out between the two sides in the street.

The Japanese troops in Qiqihar now have no support, and the arsenal is their confidence in resisting the devil's troops.

For this reason, the commander gave a death order to the Japanese 46th Regiment to fully reinforce the field weapons factory.

The regiment commander, like a mad dog, launched a series of fierce attacks on the Second Regiment troops that were blocking them.
