Fierce fighting soon broke out on the outskirts of Antu County and Wangqing County.

The Japanese artillery guarding troops in Yanbian felt the pressure doubled and had to retreat.

The Japanese army's three axes of attack were first air bombing, then artillery bombardment, and then infantry charge.

Now that their air force had been defeated and their artillery had retreated, the Three Axes were left with only tanks to cover the infantry attack.

In order to avoid the air raids of the Xinjing Air Force, the Japanese troops in Yanbian took small roads, which brought great inconvenience to the rapid advance of his tanks.

Under the surprise attack of the 17th Brigade's rocket troops, the Japanese tank vanguards and rearguards attacking Antu and Wangqing counties were successively destroyed, leaving the few remaining tanks in a dilemma.

At this time, the Special Forces Battalion of the Third Regiment arranged elite troops to raid the Japanese tanks attacking Antu County on the small road.

The main force of the Third Regiment also surrounded them from three sides.

Seeing that the situation was hopeless, the Japanese commander in Yanbian had no choice but to order the troops attacking Antu County and Wangqing County to retreat to Wangyugou and Majia Datun.

However, the troops of the 3rd and 4th Regiments attacked very quickly. Before the Japanese troops retreating to Wangyugou and Majiadatun could gain a foothold, they immediately launched a fierce attack on Wangyugou and Majiadatun.

After more than an hour of fierce fighting, the Yanbian Japanese army could not withstand the fierce attack of the 3rd and 4th Regiments, and successively abandoned Wangyugou and Majia Datun and retreated to Yanji County.

Yanji County has an important geographical location. It can attack Antu County to the southwest and Wangqing County to the northeast.

Brigade Commander Guo took advantage of the Japanese army's defeat in Yanbian and ordered the 3rd and 4th Regiments to attack Yanji County.

Although the Japanese troops in Yanbian and the defenders of Yanji County fought hard, they could not withstand the fierce attack of the two powerful divisions of the 3rd and 4th Regiments.

After more than an hour of fierce fighting, the Yanbian Japanese army and the Yanji County defenders abandoned Yanji County and retreated to Tumen County and Longjing County bordering North Korea.

The soldiers of the 3rd and 4th Regiments did not continue the pursuit, but instead built fortifications along the border between Tumen County and Longjing County to prevent a counterattack by the Japanese army.

At this point, among the six counties and two cities of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, the northern Dunhua City, Antu County, Yanji County and Wangqing County were all recovered and connected into one.

It would be very difficult for the Japanese army to attack Yanbian again.

Given the strategic location of Yanji County, Brigade Commander Guo had originally planned to station more troops there. However, the task of attacking Hailin County was too daunting, so he reconsidered and decided to leave only the First Battalion of the Third Regiment to garrison, while the remaining troops were sent to Changting Town in Hailin County and the Second Regiment's camp at Dahailanghe.

The commander of the first battalion of the third regiment bluffed and built fortifications and deployed decoy troops in the areas bordering Longjing County and Tumen County with the Japanese army.
