HP: For a better world
Chapter 90 The Wind Chimes Ring
"What do you want me to do?" Newt turned his head away depressedly and stared at the pedestrians walking outside the window. His resentful eyes occasionally glanced at Dumbledore who was reaching out to the waiter to ask for another dessert.
"I just wanted to give a little help to the two juniors...it's not as big as saving the world, right?" He looked out the window and at the floor gloomily, but not at Dumbledore.
My fingers tapped nervously back and forth on the paper cup of coffee with a plastic straw inserted, and there was a lot of noise around me.
The waiter brought another plate of mousse cake. Dumbledore smiled happily and slowly cut a piece of it and put it into his mouth.
The soft surface of the cake was slightly concave along the edge of his knife, and with a "plop" sound, it cut to the bottom.
Dumbledore put the teaspoon down, clinking it against the white china cup.
The expression on Newt's face seemed to become even more hopeless. He curled his fingers and silently moved the paper cup closer to himself.
"It's just a little help... I didn't put everything into it. Rolf wants to do something with his friends... I want to support him." Newt sighed, feeling quite helpless, "... I'm still busy with things in the United States. Can we finish it quickly?"
"...Besides," he continued after a brief silence, "their idea is very beautiful...isn't it? If these reproducible materials can be used to change the manufacturing of many potions and magical items, there won't be so many cases of hunting and killing wild magical animals."
"..."
After Newt finished speaking, he looked at the old man who was immersed in eating cake and said helplessly: "Mr. Dumbledore..."
"Mmm...right away, right away," Dumbledore swallowed a mouthful of mango mousse with enjoyment before putting down his fork and looking around, he exclaimed, "I haven't been to this shop for a long time. I didn't expect that their mousse cakes are getting better and better. Do you want to try some? Believe me, you won't be disappointed." Dumbledore recommended enthusiastically and pushed the small mango mousse cake he had cut in half towards Newt.
"Thank you... No thanks." Newt refused him with a difficult expression, "Tina is still waiting for me outside, I hope we can finish the talk quickly." He glanced outside at Tina standing outside the door, with a helpless smile on his face.
Dumbledore followed his gaze and looked outside. "Why don't you invite her in? I think it wouldn't be a problem to invite one more person." He smiled.
Newt looked out the window, and Tina waved her hand angrily, signaling him to finish talking to Dumbledore and leave. "No," he refused, "Tina is still not used to Muggle cafes, please tell me what you want, Dumbledore." He repeated, "I'm really busy, and I came to see you this time when I just caught the trace of the Nundul Panther."
Dumbledore seemed a little surprised. "Hasn't it been found yet?"
Newt shook his head. "...No, but I have roughly determined her direction. What I need to do next is to find a way to sneak into Yellowstone Park and find her."
"Forgive me, Newt. I'm already very old and I really don't want to cause any more trouble. I can't help but fuss over some things."
“I don’t understand,” Newt responded. “Isn’t this a good thing? Helping werewolves get a stable life. I heard they even hired a werewolf as a role model… At least it won’t turn into a werewolf registry at the Ministry of Magic.”
"...But this can easily be exploited by those with ulterior motives." Dumbledore sighed and said worriedly, "Those who help these werewolves may also control them..."
"It's better than waiting until Voldemort is reborn and the werewolves are lured over by them again."
"You are right," Dumbledore nodded and comforted him, "I just want to make sure about this matter. Since it is all your wish, then it is fine."
Newt breathed a sigh of relief and took a sip of his coffee.
The food Dumbledore ordered is indeed delicious.
He asked the waiter for another glass and prepared to bring it to Tina.
Ding--
Newt pushed open the door and trotted over to offer Tina the other cup of coffee he was holding.
Dumbledore looked through the glass.
Tina seemed to mutter something, and took a sip of the coffee from Newt's hand. Newt lowered his head slightly, showing a happy smile, and opened his mouth to speak a few words. It seemed that he was asking her how it tasted. In the end, the two left hand in hand.
"Oh," Dumbledore looked up at their departing backs, then lowered his head to look at his coffee, exclaimed in annoyance, and said to himself: "Should I stop drinking coffee when I get old?"
He smacked his lips, "Let's go back to Bobby and ask for a dose of the water of life and death."
He snorted twice and enjoyed the rest of the cake happily.

12 Grimmauld Place
"Woof!" Sirius imitated a dog's bark, proudly attracting Lupin's attention, and gestured with his hands very vigorously: "That's how I caught Harry's attention at the time, a big black dog like a wolf! I dare say that there is no kind of dog in the Muggle world that can be more powerful than me when transformed. Harry must have recognized me at the time, but he didn't know my identity yet. I watched Harry give that female Muggle an impressive punishment."
"I wanted to follow Harry, but the Knight Bus is easy to spot."
"So after I sent Harry to the car, I went back to make trouble at his uncle's house and barked at them -" Sirius laughed uncontrollably, "You don't know how funny it is to see them timidly trying to drive me away but afraid of attracting other people's attention!"
"You didn't see Remus - what a brilliant prank! Harry must have inherited James's creative ideas. The woman floated into the sky like a balloon, and the Ministry of Magic people chased her and tried to pull her down with their wands, but they just pushed her higher."
"She was so swollen that it wasn't until well into the night that the Ministry of Magic managed to pull the Muggle down from the sky."
Sirius grabbed Lupin and winked at him: "How about we go check on Harry? I guarantee we'll just have to call a few times near their house--"
Sirius once again growled like a dog, "It'll be enough to keep them trembling with fear and panic like a group of frightened chickens for the whole day - avenge Harry first, and no one will notice me!"
A loud scream suddenly came from the gray house, interrupting Sirius' laughter.
A string of curses came out from the portrait at the door.
He paused, showing an impatient and angry expression, and roared into the mansion: "Kreacher! Cover up my mother's portrait!"
"Sorry Remus, I have to go check it out."
Lupin, who was even more silent than usual, forced a smile and gestured to him to do as he pleased, then immersed himself in his own world again.
Sirius walked angrily towards the portraits in the hallway.
The old Black house looked like it hadn't been cleaned for decades. There were cobwebs everywhere and dust was evenly spread in every corner. Only the place where Sirius had just stayed had been cleaned by him and Lupin together.
That was Sirius' former room, locked by his mother with magic and not used again until he came back to unlock it. Compared to the rats and spiders crawling around outside, at least there were no other little gifts in the locked room.
Sirius approached, scratched his ears impatiently, and showed an unbearable expression: "Shut up!" He shouted at the portrait from a distance, "Shut up! Kreacher!"
The frame of the portrait showed signs of having been pried open, and a large piece of wallpaper next to it had been peeled off, but the portrait was still stuck on it intact.
The large wooden cabinet Sirius had used to hold down the white cloth covering the portrait had fallen to the ground.
Nothing responded.
"Kreacher!!" he shouted again in anger.
"…Filthy! Shameless scum! A disgrace to the family! How dare you bring a werewolf into the house? Get out of my house! Kreacher! Kreacher! Get them out!"
Sirius yelled, "Shut up!" and quickly pulled the opened white cloth to suppress the sound of the portrait.
"Woo! Woo! Woo!!"
"Kreacher! Get out here!"
Snapped!
An elderly house-elf materialized from behind a cabinet.
As soon as it appeared, it bowed deeply, sticking its long nose on the ground, not caring at all whether the ground was covered with dust. It shrieked:
"Kreacher serves the Master!"
But he immediately changed his tone and repeated it in a low and strange voice: "Kreacher serves the prodigal young master that the poor mistress hates the most. If the mistress knew, how would she look at Kreacher? There is also an ugly and obscene beast in the young master's room. It is a werewolf, a beast and a scumbag that the mistress would never accept in the past. Oh, my poor mistress's house is going to be ruined by the prodigal son she hates the most. But Kreacher has no choice. Kreacher cannot disobey the young master's orders."
Sirius said impatiently: "Shut up Kreacher! I told you not to lift the cloth. What are you doing!"
Kreacher's nose never rose from the ground. His big watery eyes were fixed on the ground. He glanced viciously at Sirius, then lowered his gaze back to the ground and replied, "Kreacher is cleaning. The mistress has instructed Kreacher to polish and wax her portrait on time."
"Kreacher is merely following the orders of his great mistress, not the filthy bastard who is the stain of his great mistress's life.
Old Kreacher was ashamed. The young master who was not even worthy of carrying the mistress's shoes came back. Kreacher asked him to bring his werewolf friend in. He not only wanted to destroy the mistress's last portrait, but also wanted Kreacher to lock her up. Kreacher would never forget the mistress's order, but the great mistress had foresight. The young master could not take down the portrait, and could only roar helplessly at the poor and lonely Kreacher. What could Kreacher do? Kreacher was willing. "
Kreacher muttered darkly, "As long as the shameless young master can't take down the portrait of the great mistress."
"Shut up!" Sirius was so angry that he kicked over the chair next to him. The wood of the chair was very brittle and it broke directly. It fell to the ground with a thud, raising a cloud of dust.
Kreacher sneezed a few times, then continued to press his nose to the ground gloomily.
"I can hear what you're saying! Don't talk about my friend like that!"
Kreacher looked at Sirius in confusion, then lowered his head and said in a voice that was neither too loud nor too low: "Kreacher doesn't know what the master is talking about. Kreacher didn't say anything."
"Where's the food I asked you to prepare?"
Kreacher bowed, "Kreacher will bring it here."
Sirius stared at it suspiciously for a moment, not expecting it to be so obedient.
Kreacher turned and went back into the kitchen.
Sirius lifted the cabinet and pressed it down on the portrait again before walking back.
Lupin seemed very depressed after hurting his students, and the Ministry of Magic began to hunt him down again. Sirius invited him to stay temporarily at Grimmauld Place. Although the place had not been cleaned for a long time, the Ministry of Magic could not find it.
