HP: For a better world

Hermione was not wrong.

It was Crookshanks and Ron's rat, Scabbers.

The cat and the mouse were running out of the castle very quickly, like two tumbleweeds, one yellow and one gray, sweeping across the lawn in the wind.

They were still some distance away from Winster and his companions. If one's eyesight was not good enough, one might only see a blurry yellow shadow running past, rather than recognizing the animal it was chasing.

Perhaps it was because wizards had sharper eyesight that Hermione was able to recognize her cat from a group of ginger shadows.

Winster also looked over in the direction of the sound and almost suspected that he saw a small cheetah running on the grassland.

Is this how cats hunt?

——It ran on the grass like crazy. It completely abandoned the hunting habits of a cat. It ran with all its strength, stretching, jumping... Every stretch of its body was to catch up with the mouse. Like a cheetah hunting an antelope, it rushed forward madly, with only its prey in its eyes.

Banban was running for his life. It was hard to imagine that a bald mouse with skin diseases that were contracted from nowhere could run so fast. He rushed left and right, but did not try to hide behind the surrounding objects. He flew in a clear direction.

The two animals rushed towards Winster and his group.

"Scabbers!" Ron roared. Seeing that Scabbers was about to be caught by Crookshanks, he suddenly got angry and kicked the cat away.

Crookshanks was caught off guard and was stopped by Ron's foot, his teeth sinking into his leather boot.

Ron stood in the middle.

Crookshanks missed his bite, and with the force of Ron's kick, he kicked back with his paws and landed lightly on the ground, staring at Ron with a pair of ferocious eyes. His claws dug into the ground, his fur stood up, and his tail stood up high.

Banban took this opportunity to take a deep breath, then left Ron behind and fled.

All efforts were lost.

Crookshanks growled at Ron angrily.

“Meow!!!!”

Hermione rushed over to try to save her cat: "RON!!!"

"Watch your cat!" Ron yelled back. He had originally thought that Scabbers was dead, and had given up on giving it the mouse tonic, planning to sell it... maybe he could even buy a newborn little owl or something.

Turns out it was still alive, it had just been hiding from the cat!

"It's it again! It's it again! Do I have a grudge against it? It has always been targeting my pet like this!" Ron's face flushed with anger and he roared loudly.

Hermione ignored Crookshanks's desire to attack and picked him up even though she had to endure the scratches on her hands.

"It's just a cat! It's not targeting you!"

Hermione choked.

Harry and Winster hurriedly followed from behind. "Ron! Scabbers is going to disappear again!" Harry shouted anxiously.

Ron glared at the cat with hateful eyes, his fur standing on end, still looking in the direction where Scabbers ran away, but he had to endure it because of Hermione, and began to call out to Scabbers anxiously with a look on his face.

"Crookshanks! Crookshanks! Are you okay?" Hermione cried, desperately turning over Crookshanks' fur to find the place where Ron kicked him in anger.

Crookshanks was still growling softly, his claws stretched out to hook Hermione's robe in defiance, and he struggled hard to break free from Hermione's arms.

"Scabbers - Scabbers - come back quickly, it's me, your master Ron. You are safe. There is no stinky cat -" Ron's shout came over. He bent down step by step to find out where Scabbers hid after escaping.

Harry called out to him, but got no response, so he followed him and tried to get him to put on his Invisibility Cloak.

"Crookshanks! Crookshanks, please, Crookshanks, please don't chase Scabbers, okay? Let me see if you are hurt." Hermione stroked Crookshanks' fur desperately, and endured the red marks on her wrists caused by the cat's anger to comfort it.

"Banban!" Ron's voice came from a distance, he was surprised to find Banban shivering in the crevice of the rock.

Crookshanks meowed angrily, and struggled once more, but was still firmly pinned to Hermione's chest, unable to move. He slapped Hermione with his tail in anger, and could only yell:

“Meow—meow!!!”

The sound vibrated from Crookshanks' throat. Hermione had never thought that a kitten could make such a loud and sharp roar. She stopped stroking the cat's fur in surprise. She looked at the cat in her arms in doubt: "Crookshanks?"

Even Ron was startled by the shrill meow and turned around to see what was happening. The shrill meow could be heard all the way into the Forbidden Forest.

Scabbers was hiding in a crevice, panting, and peering at Ron's outstretched hand.

Suddenly a black dog jumped out of the woods and rushed towards Ron.

Banban screamed and turned over to run away. This time he ran faster than the last time the cat chased him. He hardly looked like a skinny rat with bald spots on its skin covered with lichen and crawling with fleas.

There was a knuckle missing, luckily Ron could still spot it.

"Banban!"

Ron screamed, shook off the Invisibility Cloak that Harry was about to put on him and chased after him.

"Ron!" Harry's hands were opened and he saw Ron going to rescue his pet again. He was anxious and worried that others would see them breaking the rules.

But it was difficult to chase him with the invisibility cloak on. Harry looked around and didn't see anyone else. He gritted his teeth, took off the invisibility cloak, and chased after Ron.

"Harry!" Hermione subconsciously reached out to grab him.

Crookshanks took this opportunity and pretended to bite Hermione's hand, which scared Hermione so much that she screamed and shook her remaining hand, shaking off Crookshanks.

It immediately adjusted its landing posture, and as soon as it touched the ground, it pushed off the ground and flew forward to chase Ron.

"Fuck!" Someone cursed inwardly. The four people and the cat chased Wormtail Peter into the distance just like the original plot.

The skinny black dog suddenly stopped and slowed down.

Ron didn't notice and finally surpassed the black dog. Ignoring the surrounding environment, he leaped forward with great effort, rolled on the mud, and finally grabbed Scabbers' tail and pulled it back into his palm.

Harry was still chasing him.

But Ron was already sweating profusely, panting and had no more strength left: "Scabbers? Don't, don't run! I will protect you!!"

The black dog didn't rush over, but was walking around with a fierce look in its eyes. But when it saw Ron catch the mouse and was about to put his hands together to hold down the struggling Scabbers, its light grey eyes seemed to emit a green light.

Suddenly it howled and rushed forward fiercely.

But a green shadow was faster than it, and Ron screamed and was knocked to the roots of the tree - it turned out that they had already chased to the Whomping Willow.

But this time Ron just changed places.

The black dog couldn't stop the car and crashed straight into it.

Ron let out a short whine and rolled into the tree hole.

"Ron——"

Harry followed anxiously, and just as he was about to go in, he was hit on the wrist by the Whipping Willow.

Harry felt pain and the Invisibility Cloak slipped to the ground. Harry didn't have time to pick it up and quickly left the Whomping Willow's territory.

A second and third willow branch followed suit and hit Harry.

"Crookshanks!" Hermione followed breathlessly.

Crookshanks came running down the hillside, passed Harry, dodged the branches of the Whomping Willow nimbly, and snapped a knot at the base of the tree to get inside.

Seeing that Harry and Hermione were stunned and motionless, he deliberately crawled back up and called out to them as if urging them.

"Where's Winster!" Hermione asked anxiously.

It was getting late and the sun had already set. Hermione looked back and saw that the castle was too far away. The mountains and fields were empty and she could not see anything.

Harry didn't care about that, he was worried about Ron's scream, and didn't dare to delay for too long, and rushed down with Crookshanks.

"Wait! Harry?!" Hermione was worried that they had entered an unknown place, so she wanted to stop Harry and leave one person to prevent any problems. But Harry had already rushed in and slid down the tree hole.

Hermione stamped her feet and groaned inwardly. She couldn't see clearly where Crookshanks pressed in such dim conditions, and the Whomping Willow began to stir again, so she had to follow him in.

The path under the tree hole was not long. Or rather, as long as they were willing to take the risk, this path could save them more than half the time - they slid down the stone road like a slide, with almost no bumps.

Harry slid faster and faster, his buttocks were rubbed so hard that he almost suspected that his buttocks would be rubbed flat. This kind of sliding down seemed to have no end, and he could not see anything in the dark environment.

Crookshanks was smart enough to find someone to take his place with him, so he jumped onto Harry's body and slid down in his arms.

But Harry didn't have to worry about sliding down the slide to some dangerous place. The slope became gentler and the speed became slower.

Hermione's voice came through in a scream.

"Harry, get out of the way!"

Harry quickly rolled and crawled away from the flat ground.

But Hermione's foot still tripped him and made him stumble.

Crookshanks jumped away from Harry and walked away.

The thin moonlight made the green cat's eyes reflect light.

Hermione grabbed Harry's hand and climbed to her feet.

"Follow Crookshanks, it must have discovered some danger!"

Harry took out his wand to illuminate the area. After the stone road, there was a wooden building that had fallen into disrepair and had a few spider webs in the corners.

They followed Crookshanks up the stairs, and after climbing some distance they finally saw the outside of the cave.

It was a small wooden house. The windows were boarded up and there was a small hole above. It looked familiar.

"This should be the Shrieking Shack," Harry whispered, looking around the floor. He didn't see any crystal balls, only furniture and other things that had been violently destroyed.

"A ghost wouldn't do such a thing," said Hermione, and she and Harry became cautious.

At this moment, there was a sound of someone being dragged and struggling from the rooftop, as well as Ron's cry of pain.

"Up there!" said Harry.

"Let's go!" Hermione pulled Harry up the stairs quietly and quickly, and saw the traces where Ron had been dragged.

"That dog—" Hermione whispered her doubts to Harry.

Harry also felt that something was wrong with the dog. But they had no choice, and it was too late for anyone to go back and ask the professor for help.

The slippery stone road almost blocked the way to climb up quickly. I don't know who built it, but it seems that they didn't consider the scenario where people needed to return quickly.

They turned off the lights at the same time.

Ron's voice came from the only open door.

"It hurts... Damn cat... Stay away from me..."

Ron's intermittent cries of pain could be heard, along with the snoring of Crookshanks in excitement.

"Ron - are you all right?" Harry asked hurriedly, kicking open the door and pointing his wand nervously.

Hermione pointed her wand just as nervously.

"Harry - hiss, run away! That's not a dog -" Ron saw that they actually caught up with him, his eyes widened in horror, and he endured the pain and screamed.
