HP: For a better world

Chapter 25 Quidditch in the Rain

When Winston packed up and walked back to the common room, he was pulled away by Draco.

He led Winster through the quiet corridor and into his dormitory.

"Lalo." Draco called out his name as he entered the room.

A house-elf plopped into Draco's dorm and bowed respectfully, its long, curved nose pressed firmly to the ground. It wore a sleeve and looked at the ground, and screamed, "Lalo is honored to serve the students of Slytherin."

Winston looked at Draco strangely.

"Help me and this gentleman to style up." Draco snapped his fingers and explained, "I borrowed this elf from the dean. It will help other team members to take care of themselves. I think we are a little late."

Then Draco looked at Lalo, "How are the others getting ready?"

"Mr. Flint is already waiting for you in the Slytherin Quidditch locker room, and two other gentlemen have just gotten up," Lalo replied in a shrill voice.

"That should be our last beater." Draco walked to the side and pulled out an armchair. "We still have about ten minutes - do you have any requirements for your hairstyle?" Draco asked, and then ordered first, "Just fix my hair, I'm going to Quidditch soon, just something suitable for exercise will do."

"Then I'll be more casual and wear everyday clothes." Winster nodded.

Lalo responded respectfully, then asked them both to sit on chairs and directed the flying tool to move quickly over their heads.

Draco was done quickly. He sprayed himself with some ordinary perfume and frowned, regretting that he couldn't use the perfume with potion effects today because charm potions were prohibited in Quidditch.

Things suddenly became complicated for Winster.

He waited for the house-elf to serve him with a stiff face and a bit of discomfort. In his memory, they were all shaved flat. But after coming to the world of Harry Potter, he found that the wizards' hair also contained personal information. There were few barbershops in the wizarding world, and most of them relied on the house-elves they trusted or their families to cut their hair.

For example, compound potions banned by the Ministry of Magic use the body tissues of wizards. Hermione used this trick in the second grade to make Harry and Ron transform into Crabbe and Goyle to sneak into Slytherin to get Draco to tell her who is the heir of Slytherin.

Draco leaned against the side and watched Lalo carefully combing Winston's hair with his long nails. He braided the long black hair into strands and tied them loosely behind his head, then hooked the shorter hair and pinned it in front of his ears to modify his face shape.

After doing all this, Lalo bowed respectfully again and disappeared into the room.

"Okay," Draco raised his chin with satisfaction, "Mom told me to teach you not to be like Professor Snape, so this is good."

"Teacher?" Winster pinched the ends of his hair uncomfortably. Because it was difficult to style his own hair, he simply followed Snape's example and grew his hair half-long. Every day before going out, he would give himself and his room a whirlwind clean. But the habit left by White's short-hair period still affected him. He usually let his hair down and wait for it to fall naturally on his shoulders.

When I suddenly tied my clothes up, I felt my center of gravity begin to fall onto my back. It was a very strange feeling.

"My mother is worried that you will forget to take care of yourself while brewing potions like the dean did." Draco curled his lips. Although he was very surprised why his mother suddenly asked him to pay attention to Winster's living habits, Draco still followed her instructions and trimmed Winster.

After styling, my hair does look much better than the frizzy ones.

"Your mother?" Winston felt puzzled. The special treatment of the Malfoy family could be understood because Snape had a close relationship with the Malfoy family and wanted to win over the apprentice of the potion master. But why did Draco's mother care so much about his living habits?"

Winster looked at himself in the mirror with his head tilted to the side. His new hairstyle gave him a different kind of handsomeness, and a more stable and gentle feeling.

When I was brewing the potion, I had to tie up my hair tightly, and it felt like I had an extra tail.

Draco had no intention of explaining further. He seemed to have treated Winston as his follower and led him to the Slytherin Quidditch locker room.

Marcus Flint was the captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team. He could have become the prefect when Winster entered the school that year, but it was said that he failed because he almost failed to get full A's, so Snape chose someone else.

But Quidditch's appeal to wizards means that his captaincy carries as much power as that of a prefect.

Marcus used this to bully Jenny and was taught a lesson by Winster.

"You know that Marcus and I have a grudge." Winster raised his eyebrows and stopped outside the lounge to look at Malfoy.

"Of course." Draco said arrogantly, "But he won't say much. I brought you here." He curled his lips, "The brooms for the whole team were donated by my father. Otherwise, with his prestige being destroyed by you in his first year, he would have been ousted long ago just by his violent tactics."

The Quidditch team led by Marcus always likes some rough physical contact, blatantly rubbing back and forth on the edge of violations.

Draco sneered, "Cliff and the others should have told you the news. The first person you dealt with in your first year was actually Marcus. He had just been appointed Quidditch captain, and he was so proud of himself that he wanted to show off his power." Just in case, Draco explained the whole story to Winston.

Luo's father. Although his last name is Cliff now, he was a member of the Flint branch before changing his name.

Every wizarding family has more or less Squibs. Even the Weasley family, who are the most open-minded and friendly to Muggles, keep silent about the Squibs that appear in their family.

They are the invisible people and second-class citizens of wizarding society, the Muggles among wizards.

This resulted in very few wizards combining with Squibs, and the Squibs were more integrated into the Muggle world, providing a large source of Muggle wizards.

"He despises Cliff, but wants to use him - and he doesn't even think about how the Flints treated the Squibs," Draco sneered.

Winster listened quietly, and did not point out that the Malfoys' own attitude towards Squibs was even worse.

"It seems like they just threw the person directly to some Squib charity foundation." Draco spoke with contempt.

Winster waited for a while and found that Draco had not responded, so he knocked on the door and spoke to stop him.

"...That's all?" Winster asked doubtfully, "Are you not finished yet?"

Draco gave him a puzzled look as he recited the command, "What?"

The portrait tipped its hat to the two men and turned back to make way.

"That's it." Draco said impatiently, feeling surprised that the topic needed to be expanded. "How else to deal with it? I think they are still too conspicuous. Now everyone knows that there is a Squib in their family--"

Draco suddenly lowered his voice. Marcus was standing at the door of the lounge, looking at Draco with a ferocious expression.

It seemed that he heard what Draco just said.

Did he just hear that? Draco kept muttering, blocked in the doorway.

Winster noticed that the person Marcus was staring at was him, so he greeted him slowly.

"…Hello, Flint."

While playing with his wand nonchalantly.

"Hello..." Marcus' voice seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth. He said it hard, then stepped aside and continued to stare at the door fiercely.

"What is he doing?" Winster and Draco walked aside and calmly greeted the other team members. From their surprised expressions, it was obvious that the news that the Malfoys had befriended Winster had not yet spread. In other words, his identity as Snape's potion apprentice had not yet been made public.

"He's waiting for the two batsmen." Draco breathed a sigh of relief, but was still a little worried about being heard saying bad things behind his back. "At least Goyle and Crabbe aren't stupid enough to get lost."

Quidditch is a wizarding sport played on broomsticks. It is extremely popular among witches and wizards and, according to Hagrid, is as popular as football in the Muggle world.

Each Quidditch team has a Seeker who is responsible for finding the Golden Snitch, two Beaters who move around the other players to protect them from Bludgers, three Chasers who pass the Quaffle into the opposing team's goal circle, and a Keeper who guards their own goal.

There were several men sitting in the locker room, all of them were big and strong with thick hair.

It was Montague, Warrington and Miles.

Draco greeted them. Montague, Warrington and Marcus were Chasers, and Miles was the Keeper.

But it looks like Miles alone is enough to block most of the ball ring.

"Derek and Bol haven't gotten up yet?" Mrs. Monty said gruffly, "Don't let the house-elves lead them to the stadium again. They can even get lost in the lounge!"

Derek and Boal were Slytherin's Beaters, and they were famous for always getting lost in various ways. This reputation seemed to have spread to Gryffindor.

Winster even heard Ron gossiping and asked him how the two of them managed to get to the Quidditch field without getting lost.

Now he knows.

Soon, the two batsmen were led to the common room by the house-elf.

Winster listened drowsily as they fiercely reconfirmed their tactics, with Marcus's voice being particularly loud.

In a nutshell, he was teetering on the edge of a foul, and Malfoy was specifically told to keep a close eye on Harry Potter and catch the Golden Snitch before him.

Then Marcus led everyone to the hall for breakfast, and the Gryffindors also arrived at the hall.

Harry was eating his bread and yawning.

But what was not looking good for everyone was the weather on the ceiling of the auditorium.

The hall's enchanted ceiling displays the weather outside.

There were thunder and lightning on the ceiling, and the wind was howling. The clouds were like ravaged rubber, changing their shapes rapidly in the air. Filch cursed and dragged a mop across the instep of every student who walked into the hall from outside, wishing to eliminate every drop of rain from the root.

Mrs. Norris stayed far away. In this kind of weather, she didn't want to get close to any human being who might get wet.

"Keep an eye on Potter's glasses when you go on the field." Marcus glanced at the Gryffindor who was frowning at the weather and warned him. Harry was the only one wearing glasses in the two teams, and he was also the Seeker who decided the game, so he would be targeted every time. "...if there is a chance, they will be knocked away." He lowered his voice and told the two Beaters the second half of the sentence.

Then they walked past the Gryffindor table, talking and laughing, showing off their prowess.

Draco raised his voice deliberately, shook out the fireproof and moisture-proof robes that each of them wore, and laughed loudly at the Gryffindors who had to cross the bridge to get to the Great Hall for breakfast.

Probably to attack the enemy psychologically.

Wood was extremely nervous, and he was holding Harry down hard, as if he was afraid that he would rush up and get beaten at any moment. In that case, their most important Seeker would have to be absent before the Quidditch game.

But Harry was unmoved and just munched on the bread in his hand, looking listless and completely in no mood to pay attention to them.

Wood became even more nervous. After the Slytherin left, he kept complaining that Harry didn't have enough sleep and wasn't energetic enough.

Winster had parted ways with them long ago, before the Slytherin team entered the hall, and now sat in his old seat and watched coldly.

Luo and his friends were also very excited, rubbing their hands in anticipation of the arrival of Quidditch, but Winster noticed that Luo had a small green lion head in his pocket. It was obvious that he did not want to support the Slytherin team led by Marcus, but he did not want others to know. So he just secretly wore a lion badge disguised as a green one. People who didn't pay attention would only think it was a snake badge like the others.

Today is the match between Slytherin and Gryffindor.

The deans of the two colleges seemed to have started fighting in advance.

Winster saw Snape specially changed into a black and shiny wizard robe, handed the school flag to the two prefects, and arrogantly raised his nose to the sky, seemingly friendly and chatting with Professor McGonagall about the outcome of Quidditch.

Professor McGonagall, wearing a bright red wizard robe with gold embroidery, held a fork tightly in her hand, pressing it on the table, and smiled back in the same kind manner.

The atmosphere on both sides was tense. Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout looked at them with a smile, not trying to stop the knives flying in their eyes.

Quidditch is about to begin.

As breakfast time came to an end, the food on the school's long table disappeared without a trace. At the last minute, Winster fished out a glass of pumpkin juice, ready to drink it while walking.

Quidditch is very popular in the wizarding world, and just like the basketball games we saw before, it was warmly welcomed. Even in such bad weather, all the teachers and students in the school came out to watch the game as usual.

The Gryffindor team ran along the lawn towards the pitch, heads bowed against the fierce wind, which blew umbrellas into the air and flew away, then fell to the ground and broke into pieces.

Just as Harry was about to enter the locker room, he saw Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle walking towards the open-air stadium under a large umbrella, pointing at him and laughing.

Winster also learned an umbrella spell, raised a transparent umbrella from the tip of the wand and walked through the rain. But this spell was different from Hermione's physical umbrella, it was not windproof, so Winster had to wrap his wizard robe tightly and walk towards the Quidditch field with a warm spell.
