HP: For a better world

Chapter 114: Getting Along with the Club

Winster brought Loial into the club.

There were only Colum and Neville in the club room. Colum had a habit of subscribing to various newspapers and making clippings. Neville was helping him, and they put the clippings into a collection that looked like a photo album made of newspapers.

Winster said hello to Colum and Neville, pulled Loial to his seat, and locked the door of the club again. Only club members could open it with coins.

"Soon we won't have to worry about the club's funds," said Winster. "Hasn't my pharmacy formed an association? It will give me money in proportion to its profits. I plan to use part of the funds to help our club develop."

"The Solidifying Potion Association that you and Malfoy were working on on the train? It looked like it was called SIPA in the newspaper?" Loial thought for a moment and asked, "When?" He took out a booklet for keeping accounts from the bookshelf and prepared to write them down seriously, calculating the funds they could use to recruit new members.

They were saving money to buy a weather carpet - a blanket with different weather spells solidified on it, which could simulate different environments to add some diversity to the duel arena. They were also saving money to buy alchemy supplies to expand the classroom space, as the duel arena in the classroom was a bit small if they wanted to expand the club.

That was only enough for a few people to conduct the simplest duel. There was no complicated environment, no, just the most rudimentary platform that would not cause the duelists to fall suddenly - the effect of spells did not count.

There are already more than a dozen club members now, and the duel arena cannot meet everyone's needs.

"It should be soon. I estimate that it will happen next month, in time for the club to recruit new members." Winster replied immediately: "The first profit will be distributed as a celebration. If the first batch of potions can be sold out, the club will probably get 20 Galleons for the first time. It will be enough for us to buy one or two different weather carpets."

"That's great. Send Mike to bargain. He used to hang out on the streets of Diagon Alley. He knows better than us where to buy cheap and reliable weather props..."

Luo Ou calculated as he wrote, "... generally a club can have two instructors. Professor Snape is too busy and doesn't come often. We have to consider inviting another professor to help us practice..."

At this time, the door opened and Mike and Carl walked in.

"Who of you locked the door?"

Mike stuffed the coin he had just used to open the door back into his trouser pocket with a look of pain on his face. "I was rummaging through a pile of Nat's for a long time... Were you calling me just now?"

He pulled Karl around the table and sat down, "What do you want me to do?"

Winster went over to close the door and locked it both physically and magically before returning to rejoin the conversation.

But he had just sat down for a while when he heard the sound of the door lock turning. The person pushed it, but the door didn't move at all.

Then a light seemed to come through the keyhole and it turned with great effort - but apparently in vain - and the spring of the door lock quickly returned to its original state.

Everyone in the classroom watched nervously, holding their breath.

"Who's in there?"

The result was Hermione.

She knocked on the door, and a puzzled voice came from behind it, "Open the door, please."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and started laughing.

Winster's previous performance as if facing a powerful enemy made everyone nervous.

Carl smiled and went to open a door.

Hermione came in with a bunch of small badges, with a letter tucked inside.

She first looked around the classroom, "So most of you are here... Where's Jenny?" she asked in surprise.

"Yeah, Jenny's helping out in the medical wing." Loio subconsciously raised his hand to answer, but Mike pushed his hand back with a stifling laugh.

This is what happens when you are used to raising your hand to answer questions, and your hands don’t obey you.

"Okay..." Hermione said with a little regret, changing the subject, "Is there anyone willing to join the association I founded?"

Luo Ou glanced at Winster and said, "Another association?" He sounded a little surprised.

Winster looked up at the sky with a guilty conscience... Maybe after buying the magic carpet, he could add two fixed positions on the duel stage...

"It's the Society for the Advocate of House-Elves," Hermione corrected, waving her badge in front of the group.

"Is there anyone willing to support me and join? The membership fee is two Sickles, and you will get a badge. The money will be used to print and distribute badges. There are already two members. If you join now, you will be a veteran in the future."

Hermione had figured out the best way to convince Slytherin.

But no one thought that this club would have any future use: "I have no money - I only have a few coppers left in my pocket now." Mike simply took out his empty pocket to show her.

Undeterred, Hermione continued trying to shove the badge under everyone's noses.

Both Karl Collen and Neville paid the money obediently and received a badge.

Luo Ou struggled for a moment: "Wait! Who were the first two members to join——"

"Harry and Ron." Hermione counted the Sickles they handed over with a little satisfaction, turned to Winston, and handed him a badge. "I know you are not interested, but you have to support us, right?"

Winster surrendered the two Sickles.

"Don't you think you're collecting protection money now--" Luo Ou was still protesting behind him.

Hermione turned back angrily: "I don't think so. I didn't threaten you to pay me."

"If you don't want to give it to me, forget it," she said simply. "Anyway, I'm going to see Jenny later. She will definitely support me. We have a good relationship. You can take it from her later and take a closer look, and pretend that your sympathy is not just for wizards."

"We're saving up to buy a weather carpet..." Loial said with a desperate struggle, "I demand to see your financial records."

Hermione was satisfied with the development of several new members today. "Of course, you go find Ron Weasley, he's in charge of finances." She said lightly. There was still half of the badge left in her hand, and the letter inside became more conspicuous.

"Oh, by the way," she took a few steps and turned back, throwing the letter to Winster.

"Ok?"

She raised her head and said proudly, "Don't get me wrong, this is a letter someone wrote to you and asked me to pass it on."

Winster opened it, took a look, then quickly closed it as if it was burned.

"Please pass it back for me and tell her that I have no intention of falling in love." Winston said sincerely and respectfully put the letter back in Hermione's hands.

"Go by yourself," Hermione said contemptuously, "She also asked me to tell her that she liked you before you became famous, and asked you not to regard her as the same as those vulgar women."

Winster cried out in pain in his heart. How could he encounter such a thing after hiding in the club... "I just don't plan to fall in love. I am now focusing on my potion career... There is no signature on the letter, I'm afraid it would be better for you to go."

Hermione let out an angry cry, glanced at the end of the letter, and could only say angrily: "Okay... she's a coward... I'll tell her. I will never help her do this again... She actually sent a love letter without writing her name..."

She closed the door and walked away.

Luo Ou muttered that he wanted to add a rule to the club rules that prohibits promoting other clubs within the club.

Carl comforted Mike and thought of it as tuition fee to avoid Hermione nagging like she did when she was giving them tutoring... No one knew who gave the two Sickles.

Colum didn't think anything of it. He and Neville put the badge in their respective newspaper clippings and laughed happily. They also had a collection of various strange club logos. Hermione might have added a collection to them. There were also the Vampire Rights Protection Promotion Association and the Centaur Re-employment Help Center. First of all, vampires suck human blood, and their rights are probably not protected by wizards... Secondly, the Centaur Re-employment Center? Centaurs don't work in the wizarding world at all. They all live in the wild forests or grasslands. Most of them are very unfriendly to wizards.

"How about Professor Flitwick? I heard that he was the champion of the wizard dueling competition when he was young--"
