Chapter 6 Two Flies

After entering high school, the number of girls decreased drastically. There were 52 students in Class 5, and only of them were girls.

Everyone was talking about the sudden appearance of a new person in the class. Gu Xiaoran remained calm and maintained a friendly attitude towards the classmates who were looking at her.

After a while, the head teacher, Mr. Huang, and the chemistry teacher came in together. The chemistry teacher stayed alone at the door waiting for Mr. Huang's pre-class speech.

Teacher Huang walked straight to the podium. He frowned as he looked at the transfer student who had already chosen her seat on her own. It seemed that this student was a person with her own ideas. He just hoped that she would not disturb the normal study of Class 3. After all, the college entrance examination would be coming soon and every second counted.

"Before we start the chemistry class, let me say a few words. There is a new female student in our class, Gu Xiaoran, welcome everyone," said Teacher Huang.

Gu Xiaoran stood up and waved to everyone with a smile.

Warm applause broke out instantly, Zhang Jian's palms turned red from clapping. He and Chen Yong looked at each other and smiled so hard that their teeth were showing.

Teacher Huang pressed his palm downwards into the air, and the applause stopped. He coughed lightly and said, "Everyone should focus on their studies. The college entrance examination is approaching, so everyone should concentrate. Also, tomorrow is Saturday, and there will be a baseline test in the morning for Chinese and mathematics. Okay, I won't say much, you can go to class."

There was an uproar in the audience. Ding Yu glanced at Qiu Huoming, who patted him on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry, I'll copy it for you."

Ding Yu curled his lips, held his chin and didn't bother to pay attention to him.

Only then did Teacher Huang walk down the podium with satisfaction and hand the class back to the chemistry teacher who was looking out the door.

When Ding Yu saw the chemistry teacher come in, he fell back onto his desk with a "pop" as if he had no bones.

Chemistry is one of his most hated subjects.

In fact, it is not the students' fault. Current schools are not equipped to perform the experiments in the chemistry textbooks, so the teachers can only describe the experimental processes and results out of thin air. The teachers are engineering students with poor expressive skills, and the students in the room are all drowsy after listening to them.

Ding Yu poked Qiu Huoming's elbow, "Well...what's the name of the martial arts novel? I'll go buy one."

Qiu Huoming picked up a pen and wrote the title of the book on the back of Ding Yu's notebook.

It makes no difference whether you attend this class or not. The teacher just reads from the textbook and it's boring to listen to.

Qiu Huoming was flipping through the chemistry textbook. Compared with physics, the chemistry textbooks of this period were actually simpler.

There were four classes in the morning, namely chemistry, physics, mathematics, and Chinese. It was almost a cramming education model. After the class, Qiu Huoming was surprised to find that his memory was indeed ridiculously good.

Those complicated formulas and element names were loaded into his mind almost effortlessly. Even the knowledge points from his previous life returned to his memory palace while he was flipping through the book.

The bell rang and the chemistry teacher left the classroom with a stern face.

The students relaxed. Zhang Jian kept looking back in the front row. Besides him, there were several other students, including He Xinxin, the study committee member. The students not only admired Qiang, but also Ai...

Who doesn’t like to take a second look at a beautiful girl?

But there was more of a complex emotion in He Xinxin's eyes. She was originally the class beauty of Class 3, but she was afraid that the class beauty would change in the future.

Qiu Huoming smoothed his messy short hair and turned to look out the window. Suddenly, his eyes caught his eye and he saw his uncle holding a small bag and leading a thin boy across the playground towards the office building.

The teaching building where I am located is side by side with the office building. The playground is in front of the teaching building. To enter from the school gate, one must cross the trail next to the playground.

The young man was tilting his head to listen to what his uncle was saying. Qiu Huoming looked at his profile and a name emerged in his mind: Qiu Sheng.

The eldest uncle Qiu Jianjun brought his son Qiu Sheng to the school early in the morning. Without even thinking about it, Qiu Huoming already knew what they were going to do. His father probably hadn't told them that he didn't plan to drop out of school.

Qiu Huoming watched them coldly as they disappeared around the corner.

When he turned around, he saw Gu Xiaoran looking at him with interest.

Ding Yu on the side said with a smile: "Huozi, what are you staring at so intently? Two knives can fly out of your eyes."

"Nothing, just saw two annoying flies."

Qiu Huoming closed his textbook and stood up.

Ding Yu also stood up, leaned forward, and patted Gu Xiaoran on the shoulder, "Go out for a walk? I'll take you to get familiar with the campus..."

Qiu Huoming raised the corner of his mouth. Ding Yu is such a great guy!

"Okay, I just arrived this morning and haven't gone shopping yet." Gu Xiaoran stood up with a smile.

Amid everyone's surprised gazes, a group of three walked from the back door to the corridor. A number of students walked by in the corridor, most of them rushing to the toilet. The toilet was behind the stairs and could almost be found by smell.

The teaching building has only three floors in total. High school grades 10 and 11 are on the third floor, and the junior high school is on the first and second floors. The podium building at the back is the office building, which does not have the same entrance as the teaching building.

"Fatty, you accompany classmate Gu for a walk, I'm going to do something..." Qiu Huoming waved his hand, and he could faintly hear Ding Yu's muttering behind him. He spread his long legs, rushed to the entrance of the corridor quickly, rode down very fast, and soon his back disappeared around the corner.

Qiu Huoming ran straight towards the office building.

The office building has two floors. The second-year high school office is on the east side of the first floor. It is a large room. Qiu Huoming leaned his head over from the corridor and did not see his uncle and the others.

It's time to get off get out of class and the office is very busy.

He glanced at the stairs. The second floor was the school leaders' office. He went up to the second floor. Perhaps because of the cold weather, the corridor was empty. A familiar voice came from the director's office.

Qiu Huoming put his ear to the door and heard the uncle talking, "Director Chen, my Qiu Sheng's grades are much better than Huoming's. Look at these transcripts, they are all ranked in the top ten. Huoming is not a good student. Look... this degree?"

"Qiu Sheng was raised under my care. Don't worry, as long as Qiu Huoming agrees to drop out of school, I will keep this student number for your Qiu Sheng." Director Chen's voice slowly reached Qiu Huoming's ears.

"Thank you so much, Qiu Sheng. Thank you Uncle Chen."

"Thank you, Uncle Chen."

"This matter should be done as soon as possible and before the preliminary selection," said Director Chen.

"Don't worry. I know Huo Ming. He is determined to get a job in the factory. I heard that he has almost completed the process. I will go to him and ask him to sign."

After saying this, the eldest uncle lowered his voice and said, "We just slaughtered a good pig in the meat processing plant. I have kept a few ribs and will send them to your home in the evening. I remember what my sister-in-law said last time..."

Qiu Huoming looked through the crack in the door and saw Qiu Sheng with a flushed face, huddled behind Qiu Jianjun, while Director Chen was waving his hands with a righteous look on his face.

It turns out that they have known each other for a long time, and it seems that they have a close relationship.

Qiu Huoming turned around and went downstairs. He wanted to get back to the classroom before the bell rang.

The memories of the previous life gradually emerged in my mind clearly.

The reason why my father agreed to let me work in the factory was not because I asked for it, but because he had no choice. I was instigated by my eldest uncle and went through the withdrawal procedures without telling him. By the time my father found out, my name had already been signed, so naturally he would not allow me to regret it.

A half-grown boy stayed at home and caused trouble, so his father used his connections to get him a job at a chemical factory. The work in the factory was heavy and he couldn't handle it, which led to a series of subsequent events...
