Chapter 44 Report

I went up to the third floor and found Room 304, which was right in the middle of the corridor. The door was open. A slightly plump aunt was changing her pillowcase. She turned her head and took a look when she heard the noise.

"Sister Xiaoqin asked me to come up and put down my things. This room has been reserved by our teacher." Qiu Huoming quickly explained.

"Oh, I see. Put the things down. They won't be lost." Aunt Huang spoke with a local accent, but her attitude was quite nice.

Qiu Huoming put down the bag, turned around and walked out.

The materials used in this guesthouse are of very fine quality. It seems that it was rebuilt from an old building. When Qiu Huoming went downstairs, he met Gu Xiaoran and Teacher Cheng on the stairs.

Everybody is pretty fast.

Director Jiang was holding a cigarette in his hand, which was only the butt left. He stood in the yard and waved to them. Teacher Cheng walked out first.

"Let's go and have dinner." Director Jiang threw away the cigarette butt in his hand, stepped on the tiptoes and said to several students.

The restaurant also has terrazzo floors and is on one floor. It looks spacious, with a total of eight rectangular tables, three of which are already occupied.

Director Jiang chose a location near the yard.

The menu is only one page long, the dishes are simple, and the staples are quite rich.

Director Jiang waved his hand and directly ordered four pounds of cabbage and pork dumplings and a bowl of egg soup.

Maybe it’s because dumplings are easy to cook, and it didn’t take long before the food started to be delivered from the kitchen.

When Sun Zili smelled the vinegar, his appetite gradually increased. After eating a few dumplings dipped in vinegar, his expression relaxed. He ate ten dumplings in a row before putting down his chopsticks. He stood up and served a bowl of egg soup to drink. His originally pale face now had a hint of redness.

When Teacher Cheng saw that he had regained his energy and spirit, he felt relieved and his tone became much more relaxed.

After finishing the meal, Director Jiang signed the form and said, "Let's go and report directly to the organizing committee. We will have a rest in the afternoon."

Qiu Huoming and Gu Xiaoran were fine, but Sun Zili's appetite started to wane when he thought of the smell of gasoline in the jeep.

Teacher Cheng patted his shoulder and said, "You sit in the passenger seat. I heard that you won't get carsick if you sit in this position."

Sun Zili forced a smile and said, "Thank you, Teacher Cheng."

In the yard, Director Jiang had already started the car. After they got in, he took out a bag from the central control and handed it to Sun Zili who was sitting in the passenger seat.

Then he skillfully shifted gears with his right hand, stepped on the accelerator, and lightly lifted the clutch. The car turned 90 degrees smoothly, passed the gate of the guesthouse, and drove out of the alley.

Sun Zili was originally quite nervous, but later he found that after sitting in the passenger seat, he felt much better and was able to look at the scenery outside.

Director Jiang opened the car window a little, and the wind blew in.

The car drove to the overpass we had passed before, and Director Jiang said, "This competition is scheduled to be held at the University of Science and Technology. The organizing committee is also there. You will be there soon. You can ask Teacher Cheng to take you around and feel the atmosphere of a higher education institution."

"Okay, let me meet these proud children too." Qiu Huoming said with a smile.

Teacher Cheng also laughed, "If you work hard, you will also be the proud children of heaven!"

Sun Zili originally wanted to return to the guesthouse early after reporting because he still had some books to read, but when he saw that everyone was very interested, he resisted the urge to object.

Twenty minutes later, a tall school gate with ivy on both sides appeared in front of me. A security guard was standing at the gate, and at the end of my sight was a red building.

Director Jiang slowed down the car, rolled down the window, stopped the car, and handed over the letter of introduction. "Comrade, we are here to report to the Olympic Array Committee."

The security guard took a look at the letter of introduction, looked up and said, "Do you see that red building? The organizing committee is right there, you'll see it when you get there." The security guard was very polite. He returned the letter of introduction to Director Jiang and stepped aside to let him pass.

The car continued to move forward. This time, not only Qiu Huoming was curious, but even Gu Xiaoran became curious. Maybe because it was noon, there were many students on the road, probably rushing to the cafeteria.

Qiu Huoming thought back to when he was in college. For some reason, he was always particularly hungry at noon. As soon as the get out of class was over, he and his roommates would rush to the cafeteria and he would always be among the first few in line to get food.

As a result, several aunts in the cafeteria closest to their college all knew him.

In addition, he was sweet-talker, so the aunts were always lenient with him, which allowed him to live a lavish life for several years.

While thinking about all sorts of things, he looked at these students. His heart was filled with excitement at the thought that one day he would be able to return to college to study.

The car squeaked to a stop, and Director Jiang put the car in gear and turned off the engine.

"arrive."

Qiu Huoming looked at the red building in front of him, and only when he got closer did he realize that it was particularly tall and had a very architectural texture. The school had excellent greenery, and on the first floor there were vines following the water pipes and had already climbed up half of the wall.

A red banner was hung in the lobby on the first floor: [Warmly welcome students participating in the Mathematical Olympiad].

There were two rows of long tables in the gatehouse on the first floor, covered with red velvet cloth, with registration books on them and a vertical sign on the table: [The First Provincial Capital Mathematical Olympiad Organizing Committee].

Two young people, a man and a woman, were sitting behind the table on the left, eating their boxed lunches with their heads down.

The young man seemed to have finished his meal. He took a sip of tea from the cup beside him, and then he noticed a group of people walking over.

"Hello, comrade. We are from Wucheng Middle School and we are here to participate in the competition..."

As soon as Director Jiang finished speaking, the young man immediately stood up, shook hands with him and said, "Welcome, welcome."

He registered very quickly.

Soon, the names of the three contestants were registered. Qiu Huoming took his own entry certificate, which was a card with the school, name, gender, age, and number written on it, and the official seal on his name.

"It will start at 8:00 tomorrow morning, and the game will start at 8:30 sharp. The venue is on the third floor of this building. You can go up and take a look. The seat numbers and names are posted right at the door..."

The young man was very good-tempered and explained it clearly and logically.

Director Jiang thanked him, turned around and said to his students, "Let's go up and take a look."

Stepping onto the spacious staircase, Sun Zili was greeted by a huge glass window. He exclaimed, "I don't know why, but as soon as I got here I felt it was sacred."

"Maybe this is the power of knowledge." Qiu Huoming said with a smile.

"Puchi." Gu Xiaoran couldn't help laughing out loud.

Sun Zili touched the back of his head and laughed.

The examination room on the third floor looks like a large classroom, with a ranking list of participating candidates posted at the door.

There were quite a lot of candidates, about 100 of them. Qiu Huoming quickly saw his name. His position, that of Gu Xiaoran and Sun Zili were messed up. He was in the third row of the first column, Gu Xiaoran was in the fifth row of the second column, and Sun Zili was even further away, in the second to last row of the last column.

Sun Zili looked at his name on the form and his hands and feet trembled slightly. He didn't feel it at ordinary times, but when he really participated in this kind of provincial examination, he still felt nervous.

He looked at Qiu Huoming with some jealousy. He came from a small place just like him, so why did he look so calm?

On the contrary, he had no malicious speculation about Gu Xiaoran. She was originally from a big city, so it was normal for her to have some experience.

He lowered his eyes slightly, hiding the indignation in his eyes.
