Bright Sword: This unit is really ruthless
Chapter 528 A Breath of Relief
"Ugh..." The village chief let out a scream and fell to the ground.
Zhang Ling stood beside the village chief's body and breathed a long sigh of relief.
He finally avenged A Yue.
He looked at the dark night sky outside the cave, his heart filled with sadness and confusion.
A Yue is already dead, what should he do?
Suddenly, he saw a stone door deep in the cave.
Curiosity drove him to walk over and push open the stone door.
Behind the stone gate is a huge underground space.
In the center of the space, there is a huge altar, on which is placed a sparkling gem.
Zhang Ling approached the altar and reached out to touch the gem.
Suddenly, a powerful force sucked him in.
His eyes went dark and he lost consciousness.
When he woke up again, he found himself in a strange world.
This is a world full of technology, with tall buildings, flying cars, people wearing strange clothes and speaking languages he can't understand.
"Where...is this?" Zhang Ling looked around in confusion.
A man in uniform came over and said to him in a strange language: "Welcome to the interstellar age."
Zhang Ling knelt down beside Ah Yue's cold body, his heart aching. This sudden change was like a heavy hammer hitting his chest, making it almost impossible for him to breathe. He reached out his hand tremblingly and stroked Ah Yue's pale face, his vision blurred by tears.
"Why...why is it like this..." Zhang Ling's voice was hoarse and weak, like a wounded beast whimpering.
He recalled every detail of his encounter with A Yue, her clear smile, her gentle hug, her encouragement and support for him...Now, all of this has vanished, leaving only endless regret and pain.
If he had not come to this village, A Yue would not have died; if he could have discovered the village chief's conspiracy earlier, A Yue would not have died; if he could have been stronger, A Yue would not have died...
"It's all my fault... It's all my fault..." Zhang Ling blamed himself over and over again, his heart consumed by guilt and despair.
Suddenly, he felt a strong anger rising from the bottom of his heart. This anger was like a burning fire, instantly igniting the hatred in his heart.
"Village chief! I must kill you to avenge A Yue!" Zhang Ling's eyes were bloodshot and his voice was full of murderous intent.
He slowly stood up, picked up Ah Yue's body, and gently placed her on the ground. Then, he picked up the dagger on the ground and held it tightly in his hand.
The cold touch of the dagger sobered him up a little, and he took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He knew that now was not the time to be sad, and what he had to do was to avenge Ah Yue!
He looked around and found a path deep in the woods. He knew that this path led to the village chief's house.
"Village chief, just wait, I will make you pay the price!" Zhang Ling clenched his teeth, his eyes flashing with a cold light.
He walked along the path, step by step, deeper into the woods, and his figure gradually disappeared into the darkness.
Night fell over the entire village, and the air was filled with a gloomy atmosphere. Zhang Ling came to the door of the village chief, opened the door, and walked in.
The room was dark except for the faint candlelight. Zhang Ling saw the village chief sitting on a chair with a puppet in his hand.
"You're here." The village chief's voice was hoarse and low, as if it came from hell.
"I'm here to avenge A Yue!" Zhang Ling's voice was cold and firm.
"Ayue? Haha, she's just a tool." The village chief smiled disdainfully, "Do you really think you can defeat me?"
"Just try it and you'll know!" Zhang Ling raised the dagger in his hand and rushed towards the village chief.
The village chief put down the puppet in his hand and stood up. His figure suddenly became tall, like a giant.
"You are too naive!" The village chief sneered and waved the wooden stick in his hand towards Zhang Ling.
Zhang Ling nimbly dodged the attack of the wooden stick, then swung the dagger and stabbed at the village chief's chest.
With a "clang" sound, the dagger collided with the wooden stick, making a crisp metal collision sound.
Zhang Ling was knocked back a few steps, and felt a sharp pain in his palm. He then realized that the village chief's power was much stronger than he had imagined.
"Boy, you're still far from strong enough!" The village chief smiled proudly and waved the wooden stick again to attack Zhang Ling.
Zhang Ling didn't dare to take the blow head on, so he could only dodge. He knew that if he continued like this, he would be defeated by the village chief sooner or later.
He must find a way to turn the situation around!
Suddenly, he had an idea and thought of a solution.
He pretended to be defeated and retreated backwards, then took advantage of the village chief's inattention to throw the dagger in his hand away.
The dagger spun rapidly, heading straight for the village chief's face.
The village chief obviously did not expect Zhang Ling to use this trick. He was unable to dodge and the dagger hit his left eye.
"Ah!" The village chief screamed, covered his left eye, and fell to the ground in pain.
Zhang Ling took the opportunity to rush forward and pulled the dagger out of the village chief's left eye.
Blood gushed out, staining the village chief's face red.
"You...you actually..." The village chief's voice was full of fear and anger.
"This is the retribution you deserve!" Zhang Ling said coldly, then raised the dagger, pointed it at the village chief's heart, and stabbed it hard.
The village chief widened his eyes, his look filled with reluctance and despair.
His body twitched a few times, and then he became motionless.
Zhang Ling looked at the village chief lying in a pool of blood and did not feel a trace of happiness in his heart.
He avenged A Yue, but A Yue would never come back.
He knelt beside the village chief's body, tears blurring his vision again.
Suddenly, he felt dizzy and then lost consciousness.
When he woke up again, he found himself lying in a strange room.
He looked around and found some strange instruments and equipment in the room.
"Where...is this?" Zhang Ling asked puzzledly.
Suddenly, a voice sounded in his ears.
"you're awake."
Zhang Ling turned his head and saw a man in a white coat standing next to him.
"Who are you?" Zhang Ling asked.
"I'm the doctor here." The man replied, "You had been unconscious for a long time when you were sent here."
"I...why am I here?" Zhang Ling asked.
"You were rescued by a mysterious organization," the man replied. "They said you were a very important person."
"Mysterious organization?" Zhang Ling frowned, his heart full of doubts.
What is this organization? Why did they save him? And who is he?
All of this left him confused.
Zhang Ling held Ah Yue's body, letting the warm blood soak through his clothes. The biting cold wind could not cool the rage in his heart. His eyes were red as he stared into the depths of the woods, as if he wanted to swallow up the darkness.
"Village chief! I want you to pay for your blood with blood!" Zhang Ling's voice was hoarse, like the growl of a wild beast.
He slowly put A Yue down and stood up. The sword in his hand hummed, as if responding to his master's anger.
Suddenly, a gloomy voice came from deep in the woods: "Haha, young man, your anger is really ridiculous. Do you think you can kill me?"
Zhang Ling turned his head suddenly and looked in the direction where the voice came from, with murderous intent in his eyes.
The village chief slowly walked out of the woods with a strange smile on his face and a black wooden stick in his hand.
"Did you kill A Yue?" Zhang Ling's voice was icy cold, as if it came from hell.
"Yes, I killed her." The village chief admitted without hiding anything. "She is no longer useful. It would be a waste to keep her."
"Use value?" Zhang Ling clenched his fists tightly, his nails almost digging into the flesh, "What do you think she is?!"
"It's just a tool." The village chief shrugged, "A tool to control the villagers."
"You deserve to die!" Zhang Ling roared and rushed towards the village chief with his sword.
The village chief sneered, raised his wooden staff, and a black light shot out, blocking Zhang Ling's sword.
"You don't know your own limitations!" the village chief said disdainfully, "You think you can kill me?"
"Then try it!" Zhang Ling roared and swung his sword at the village chief again.
The two men fought fiercely, with swords flashing and dark shadows everywhere, and it was difficult to tell the winner for a while.
Although Zhang Ling was angry, he did not lose his mind. He calmly observed the village chief's moves, looking for his flaws.
The village chief's moves were strange and unpredictable, and his wooden stick seemed to have some special power that could withstand Zhang Ling's attacks.
"Boy, your swordsmanship is good, but unfortunately, you met me." The village chief said while attacking, "My puppetry is not something you can deal with."
"Puppetry?" Zhang Ling's heart moved, and he suddenly remembered how A Yue looked before she died. Her eyes were empty and her expression was numb, like a puppet without a soul.
Could it be that...A Yue was also controlled by the village chief's puppetry?
Thinking of this, Zhang Ling became even angrier and his attacks became more fierce.
"Go to hell!" Zhang Ling roared, and used all his strength to stab the village chief's heart with the sword.
The village chief's face changed. He didn't expect that Zhang Ling could burst out such powerful strength.
He hurriedly waved his wooden stick, trying to block Zhang Ling's attack, but it was too late.
The sword pierced the village chief's heart and blood gushed out.
The village chief opened his eyes wide, filled with unwillingness and fear. He never thought that he would die at the hands of a young man.
"You...you..." The village chief pointed at Zhang Ling and wanted to say something, but he couldn't utter a word.
His body slowly fell down, and the wooden stick in his hand fell to the ground.
Zhang Ling stood there, looking at the village chief lying on the ground. He did not feel any joy in his heart, but felt even heavier instead.
He killed the village chief and avenged A Yue, but A Yue would never come back.
Suddenly, Zhang Ling felt dizzy, his eyes went dark and he lost consciousness.
When he woke up again, he found himself lying in a strange room.
There were some simple furniture in the room and a painting of a beautiful woman hung on the wall.
Zhang Ling sat up and rubbed his swollen temples. He looked around, his heart full of doubts.
"Where is this place?"
Just then, a voice came from outside the door: "Are you awake?"
Zhang Ling turned his head and looked at the door, only to see a woman in white walking in.
The woman had a beautiful face and an elegant temperament, like a fairy from heaven.
"Who are you?" Zhang Ling asked.
"My name is Bai Ling." The woman smiled slightly, "I'm the owner of this place."
"Where is this place?" Zhang Ling asked again.
"This is...Xianling Island." Bai Ling said.
"Xianling Island?" Zhang Ling was even more confused, "Why am I here?"
