The next morning, after breakfast, Xu Han went out. She wanted to make konjac tofu today, but there was nothing suitable for grinding konjac.

The tools I bought in the past for grinding things were too small and not suitable for grinding konjac.

Xu Han planned to go outside and find an uneven stone slab to use to grind the konjac paste.

I first came to the place where I looked for stones last time. After choosing for a long time, I didn’t find anything suitable. Either they were too big or too thick, and they were not very usable.

I walked a little further and looked in another place. After walking for a while, I finally found a stone slab of similar size and thickness.

And most importantly, there are no particularly large edges and corners on the surface of the stone slab, but it still needs to be slightly trimmed, otherwise it will scratch your fingers.

Xu Han put the stone slab into the space, then turned around and walked home.

After arriving home, I took out the stonemason's tools and tried to trim the stone slab myself.

Xu Han took the chisel and started to work carefully, not daring to use too much force for fear of breaking the stone slab.

Fortunately, the final product is still acceptable. Although it is not particularly perfect, it is at least usable.

Xu Han took the chiseled stone slab to the backyard, cleaned it, and put it aside for later use.

Then he brought a large wooden basin, took out a large konjac from the space, put on cooking gloves and started washing the konjac.

There is a layer of mucus on the konjac. If you don’t wear gloves and it gets on your skin, it will be very itchy. Xu Han doesn’t want to experience this feeling, so she just wears gloves obediently!

Konjac itself contains some toxins and cannot be eaten raw. The toxins can only be transformed through high temperatures.

Wash off the dirt on the surface of the konjac, and then use a knife to peel off the skin. Peel a large konjac and a medium-sized konjac in succession before stopping.

It was her first time, so Xu Han didn’t dare to make too many at once for fear of failure, so she tried two first to test the waters.

After these two are cleaned, they weigh about 30 kilograms and can be made into a large pot.

Xu Han cleaned the konjac, cut it into large pieces and put it into a wooden basin, otherwise it would be too heavy to grind into pulp.

Add an appropriate amount of clean water into the wooden basin, and then start grinding the konjac paste. This is also a hard job that requires constant friction with your hands.

There are no tools like blenders here, so there is no other way but to work harder.

After everything is ground, add an appropriate amount of alkaline water into the basin, stir evenly, and then wait for the konjac tofu to solidify.

It will take some time for the konjac tofu to take shape. After Xu Han finished lunch, she took out the unprocessed ice powder fruit from the space and continued to process it.

In the afternoon, tired of sitting, Xu Han came to the wasteland again and covered the onions that she had planted before with a layer of soil. After a while, she would be able to harvest them.

After the sun set, Xu Han saw a figure from afar walking towards them. Upon closer inspection, it was indeed Lu Chuan.

Xu Han hurried forward and saw Lu Chuan dragging a particularly large wild boar and walking forward with difficulty.

"This wild boar is so big!" Xu Han shouted.

When Lu Chuan saw Xu Han coming, he was so tired that he sat on the ground waiting for Xu Han to come and did not move forward.

"Yes, a grown boar, very heavy," he answered, breathing heavily.

Xu Han stepped forward and put the wild boar into the space, then took out a cup of warm water and handed it to Lu Chuan.

After Lu Chuan had a good rest, the two of them went home.

When they got home, Xu Han started to boil water for Lu Chuan to use to deal with the wild boar.

Lu Chuan was sitting in the yard eating the tomato dumpling soup that Xu Han had just taken out from the space.

After Lu Chuan finished eating and took a short rest, he began to process the wild boar. He had to process the wild boar today, as he had to take it to the county town to exchange it for money tomorrow!

Xu Han returned to the kitchen and began to cook the solidified konjac tofu.

First boil two large pots of water. After the water boils, cut the konjac tofu into large pieces with a knife dipped in water. Put them in the water and cook for half an hour.

Although I only made two konjacs, the konjacs were so big that I couldn't finish them in one pot, so I had to cook them in two pots because I needed more water to cook the konjac tofu. Otherwise, it would be hard to cook.

After cooking, take it out and rinse it with cold water, then you can use it to cook.

Another way to make konjac tofu is to add konjac paste and water into a pot and cook it, stirring it constantly during the cooking process.

After boiling, add alkaline water and stir evenly, then quickly smooth it out, cover it with a lid and wait for it to solidify, then add water and cut it, boil it again, serve it out and rinse it with cold water.

Xu Han has never tried this method, and plans to try it tomorrow to see which method will produce better tasting konjac tofu!

After it was done, Xu Han took out some konjac, cut it into thin skins or long strips, and put it aside for use in cooking later.

Put the cut konjac tofu into the pot and blanch it. This will remove the alkali in the konjac tofu, making the fried konjac tofu more delicious.

Take out some sauerkraut, wash it slightly, and then chop it into small pieces.

Heat oil in a pan, add onion, ginger, garlic, then add chopped sauerkraut and stir-fry. Pour in konjac tofu, add appropriate amount of seasoning, stir-fry and it is ready to serve.

Currently, konjac can only be eaten as a dish by stir-frying. Xu Han wanted to make some konjac, but the refrigerator was full and she couldn't take anything out.

It cannot be frozen. Unfrozen konjac has no holes and is not flavorful. You can only wait until the weather is cold and freeze it outside.

She fried another portion of Chinese cabbage and the rice was already steamed, so Xu Han went to the yard to call Lu Chuan to eat.

"The meal is ready! Let's deal with it after dinner!" said Xu Han.

"Okay, I'll be right there." After saying that, he went to wash his hands and went into the kitchen to have dinner.

"Try this. I made konjac tofu today. It goes really well with rice."

Lu Chuan took a bite and said, "It's really delicious! Sour and spicy, just right."

I ate all the konjac tofu today straight away. It seems that I made it quite successfully.

"This one konjac can make a lot of konjac tofu. We have already dug a lot. Do you want to dig more?" Xu Han asked.

"We can dig some more when we have time. It should be able to be preserved in the cellar for a while!"

"It should be possible. If there is still room in the back space, we can just dig a little more. It won't take much effort."

Xu Han also agreed with Lu Chuan's opinion. After all, in a year of disaster, who would be afraid of having too much food?

"In winter, I can also make some konjac noodles to eat as a snack, which is also very good." Xu Han added.

"Okay, then save some! They're delicious when you cook with them!"

"I'm going to the county town to sell wild boar meat tomorrow. Will you still go?" Lu Chuan asked again.
