After saying this, he knelt down and bowed to the old man, saying: "Thank you for your guidance, Master. Thank you to all the predecessors! Thank you... for enlightenment in Longchang! My heart is bright, what else can I say!"

The old man helped him up and asked with concern: "Sir, have you completely understood it this time?"

Wang Yangming said to the old man in great joy, "Yes, the purpose of investigating things to acquire knowledge is the crystallization of my thoughts that I have pondered for nearly twenty years. I have been searching up and down, wandering around, and constantly realizing it through practice. Today I finally understand it thoroughly, as if the clouds and fog have dissipated and I can see the sun. Not only have I transcended the thoughts of life and death, but the purpose of investigating things to acquire knowledge, which I have never understood, has finally revealed its true face. The way of the sage is hidden in everyone's heart. I have always sought truth outside of my heart, and this method itself is a mistake. The way of the sage is enough for my nature."

The old man stroked his beard, smiled happily and looked at him and asked, "Oh! Sir, what did you understand? I am very curious, can you tell me in detail?"

Wang Yangming smiled at the old man, raised his head and looked into the distance, and replied calmly: "I understand life! When I was young, I was arrogant and proud of my talent. As the saying goes, when the sky is crazy, it will rain, and when people are crazy, there will be disasters! Ever since I failed the exam for the first time and suffered a major setback in my life, I have been trapped in the fog for more than ten years. I can't understand why a young man has achieved success but has no place to use his talents. I have been carving bamboo for seven days, hoping to find the answer I want from the outside world, but it is like tying myself up in a cocoon, and the ties are getting tighter and tighter.

How many people in this world have lost their original intentions in pursuit of fame, wealth and fortune that are envied by others. They only see the glorious side of others but fail to see the hardships behind the glory.

The more successful you see others, the greater your sense of gap will be, and the more painful it will be. The root of this pain is the same mentality as mine, because our hearts are always seeking outside, constantly looking for answers to the outside world: why can others get it easily, but it is so unattainable for us?

The more we seek outside, the more we lose ourselves and the more we cannot find the direction. But we have never thought of looking inside. What exactly do we need? What are we good at? What do we love? How can we find our own track through what we are good at and what we love? Only the love from the heart can become the driving force of our life. Only then can our life bloom like a flower, full of passion! Full of vitality! Full of endless energy and driving force! "

Hearing this, Luo Ying was deeply touched. In the real world, he was the same. When he was young, he was arrogant and proud of his talent. As the saying goes, when the sky is crazy, it will rain, and when people are crazy, they will suffer misfortune!

The speed of falling from the peak to the bottom is much faster and more painful than the speed of climbing to the peak!

The old man that Luo Ying transformed into couldn't help but ask the doubts that Luo Ying brought from the real world: "Then what you mean is that climbing from the low point of life to the peak can be achieved through passion and hard work, as well as choosing the right life track. Anyone and anywhere will encounter bad luck, suffer serious illness, career impact, family misfortune... When the storm of fate hits, many people will be knocked to the ground and never recover.

Although we cannot control our own destiny, we can control our attitude towards destiny. When facing the invasion of bad luck, if you cultivate a good mentality and learn to heal yourself, you will naturally be able to get through it safely.

It is easy for people to climb from the bottom to the top, but it is extremely difficult to fall from the top and return to the top again! How many people in this world can understand and do it? "

The old man who was transformed by Luo Ying asked excitedly: "What's the solution?"

Wang Mingyang smiled and said, "It's actually difficult to say, but it's also extremely simple to say."

Luo Ying asked anxiously: "How do you say that?"

The reason why people in this world are restless and can't find their true heart, lose themselves and fall into endless pain is that they lack a benevolent heart! A heart of conscience!"

The old man's eyes lit up and he asked, "Oh! What is the heart of benevolence? What is the heart of conscience?"

Wang Yangming smiled and explained: "The heart of a gentleman is the heart of benevolence and virtue, the heart of conscience. The heart has neither good nor bad intentions, but it has good and evil intentions. Knowing good and evil is conscience, and doing good and eliminating evil is the study of things.

People who do not have kindness in their hearts are because they are too selfish.

In poverty, people tend to be desperate and unscrupulous in pursuit of fame and fortune, even at the expense of others. In wealth, however, they are prone to squandering because they cannot exercise self-discipline and frugality, and they are unable to keep their wealth because their virtues are not worthy of their position. They fall back into poverty, or even get into huge debts and are unable to recover, which makes them regret for the rest of their lives.

People with a benevolent heart are based on benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and trustworthiness. They do not seek fame or wealth, but only peace of mind. They do not worry about poverty, nor do they become arrogant because of wealth. They have a peaceful mentality and sentiment.

Wise people understand that "a family that accumulates good will have more blessings" and know the long-term value of benevolence, so they work harder to accumulate good deeds. Knowledge is the beginning of action, and action is the completion of knowledge. The unity of knowledge and action leads to conscience.

Everyone wants to be rich and noble, but if you don’t use proper methods to get it, it won’t last long. Even if you have it for a while, it will become a passing cloud, and you may even lose more because of it.

Poverty and low status are things everyone hates, but if you don’t use proper methods to get rid of them, you will never get rid of them. Even if you use unscrupulous means to get rid of them temporarily, one day, the law of nature will become even worse and add more to them. "

Luo Ying suddenly understood. Isn't this exactly the answer he had been searching for while trapped in the real world?

Wang Yangming went on to say: "Virtue can carry all things. Anyone who can accomplish an extraordinary cause must have a benevolent heart."

Luo Ying couldn't help but ask: "How can one have a benevolent heart?"

Wang Yangming went on to say: "If you want to achieve great things, you must first defeat the thief in your heart."

Luo Ying asked curiously: "How to defeat the heart thief?"

Wang Yangming laughed and said, "It is easy to defeat the thief in the mountains, but it is difficult to defeat the thief in the heart! There are three thieves in the heart: First, sit in silence; defeat the thief of anxiety. Those who are content are rich, and those who know when to stop win. Do not cling to external materials and reactions. Through meditation and introspection, you can see your heart and nature, and then your body and mind can be united. Second, gain by giving, defeat the thief of desire. Benefit yourself by benefiting others, and ask for things by giving. You must know that if you do not live for yourself, you can live long, and if you are not selfish, you can achieve your own selfishness. Third, practice in things, defeat the thief of depression. Life is a dojo, and work is a practice. Work in things, practice in things, and you will naturally have abilities. If the three thieves are defeated, everything can be accomplished!"

When Luo Ying heard his words, it was as if the clouds and fog had cleared away and he suddenly saw the sunshine.
