Children of Loulan

Chapter 509 Extra (Ayi 9)

However, when the Fifth Master's eyes fell on Ayi's face, he suddenly noticed that the color of the mark seemed to be much lighter than when he saw her a few days ago. He couldn't help but feel puzzled and wanted to get closer to see it more clearly.

At this moment, Ayi seemed to notice the Fifth Master's gaze, and her heart tightened. Could it be that the "mark" on her face had fallen off? But then she thought again, something was wrong, because she had just looked in the mirror in the morning and clearly saw that the "mark" was still there.

Aiyi calmed down, coughed lightly, trying to hide her inner uneasiness, and then asked calmly, "Fifth Master, what's wrong with you?"

The Fifth Master was interrupted by Ayi's voice. He came to his senses and realized that his behavior was inappropriate. He smiled awkwardly and said quickly, "Oh, it's okay. Well, you should go to bed early."

After saying that, he quickly took out a quilt from the closet and hurried to the recliner, as if he wanted to escape from this embarrassing situation as soon as possible. After watching the fifth boss lie down, Ayi finally breathed a sigh of relief. She slowly walked to the dressing table, stood in front of the mirror, and carefully looked at her face.

When she looked at it, she was surprised to find that the mark on her face had really faded! In the morning, she hadn't noticed this detail because there were a group of people around her helping her with her makeup.

Her gaze slowly fell on the recliner and the figure with his back to her. It was not until this moment that she suddenly realized that the reason he looked at her with such a strange look just now was because of the mark on his face!

While the Fifth Master hadn't noticed her actions yet, she quickly took out a small bottle of grass juice from her bosom and carefully smeared it on her face. However, perhaps because she was too nervous, her hands trembled slightly, causing the grass juice to be smeared crookedly.

This sudden mistake made her heart beat faster, and a feeling of panic surged in her heart. After all, this was the "mark" on her face, and if it was completely different from the previous appearance, it would definitely arouse suspicion from others.

She became more and more anxious. Finally, after some effort, she managed to spread the remaining grass juice evenly, but the uneasiness in her heart did not ease at all.

The next morning, just after the sun rose, Ayi got up early and quickly dressed herself. When the fifth boss got up, he was surprised to find that Ayi had wrapped her entire face tightly with a cloth, with only a pair of eyes exposed.

The Fifth Master looked at Ayi suspiciously and asked, "What are you doing?"

Aiyi smiled and replied softly, "Master Wu, I know what the people in the village said to you, so I covered my face so that they couldn't see it."

The Fifth Master seemed puzzled by Ayi's behavior. He shook his head and said, "There's no need to do this. Everyone knows it anyway."

Aiyi raised the corner of her mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile, and explained: "But, the majority of people have never seen me. Since they have never seen me, it is best not to let them see me."

Ever since Ayi married the Fifth Master, she has always worn a veil to hide her true face. She has never taken off the veil in her daily life or when interacting with others.

Not only that, Ayi also deliberately avoided eating at the same table with others, always eating alone in her room. At first, she also insisted on smearing her face with grass juice to disguise the marks on her face. However, as time went by, people seemed to gradually lose their curiosity about her face under the veil. After all, many people have seen her true face.

What made Ayi feel even more fortunate was that the Fifth Master never questioned the fact that her mark had become lighter on her wedding night. Although she had already prepared an excuse, the Fifth Master's silence undoubtedly made her feel much more relaxed.

As time went by, the marks on Ayi's face began to fade. This time, she did not look for the herb juice again. On the one hand, she was now the wife of the Fifth Master, with a special status, and was afraid that her secret of using herb juice would be discovered; on the other hand, her movements were restricted, and no matter where she went, someone would follow her, making it difficult for her to move freely.

So she decided to give up using the grass juice. After all, she was wearing a face mask every day and no one could see her real face!

Not only that, with her current status, almost no one dared to offend her easily. However, what she never expected was that although the Fifth Master did not ask anything on the surface, his heart was full of doubts. Especially when Ayi covered her entire face, he felt that there must be something fishy.

However, for some reason, the fifth master did not investigate the matter. Days passed like this, until one day, he returned home early. Coincidentally, a door was not closed tightly, and he happened to catch a glimpse of Ayi washing her face through the crack of the door.

Although the mark on Ayi's face still exists, it is obviously much lighter than the day of the wedding. In fact, from the moment he saw the black spot on Ayi's face, the Fifth Master had doubts in his heart, always thinking that it didn't seem to be natural. Now that he saw it with his own eyes, he was more certain of his guess.

However, even though he had the answer in his mind, Wu Dangjia did not make it public. After all, he and Ayi still had an unfinished deal, so he pretended to know nothing and continued to maintain the status quo.

The two lived under the same roof, seeing each other every day, and the days passed by peacefully. However, late one night, when Ayi was still immersed in a sweet dream, a sudden shaking woke her up from her sleep.

Ayi opened her eyes sleepily and found that the Fifth Master was standing beside her bed, looking at her anxiously. At this time, the marks of grass juice on her face had completely fallen off, revealing her original face.

The Fifth Boss seemed to have no time to explain. He quickly picked up the face towel beside him and covered Ai's face with it. Then, without saying a word, he grabbed her hand tightly and pulled her up from the bed.

Ai was a little dizzy from this series of actions. Before she even had the time to ask what was going on, she was dragged by the Fifth Boss through a narrow passage and into a dim dark room.

As soon as they entered the dark room, the Fifth Boss immediately let go of Ayi's hand. His voice sounded a little low and hurried in the darkness: "Ayi, no matter what happens outside, don't make a sound. Wait for me to find you!"

After saying this, he turned around and left in a hurry without waiting for Ai's response, leaving Ai alone in the dark.

Ai stood there, looking at the back of the Fifth Master disappearing at the door of the dark room in a daze. Her heartbeat had not yet returned to normal, and the Fifth Master's words kept echoing in her mind.

After a long while, Ayi came back to her senses. She took out a tinder and blew gently, and the flame jumped up immediately. She began to look around the dark room slowly, but before she could see the whole dark room clearly, a fierce fighting sound suddenly came from outside, deafening.

She looked towards the door of the dark room and found a finger-sized hole in the wall. She looked through the hole and saw that a group of soldiers had come outside and were fighting with the bandits in the village.
