The Great Dream God

Chapter 221: Parting Again? Never See You Again!

Meng Jin stood up suddenly from the bed. His body was exhausted, as if he was pushed by an invisible force, forcing him to walk forward. He pushed open the door, and the scene in front of him made him a little stunned. Standing outside the door was a pale man, who stood there, looking a little uneasy. Meng Jin's eyes revealed a trace of anger, he frowned, staring at the man with dissatisfaction.

"Please don't bother me anymore." Meng Jin said in a very bad tone. His voice was full of impatience and annoyance, as if he had lost patience with this man. "I know you have something to ask me, but I'm not interested in you. I don't want to help you, so don't come over again!"

Hearing this, the man's expression suddenly turned ugly. His eyes revealed a hint of disappointment and helplessness, as if he was deeply hurt by Meng Jin's words. He nodded silently, sighed and said, "It seems that you already knew everything that happened in this inn the first time, but you just didn't want to care."

Meng Jin frowned when he heard this. He didn't want this man to misunderstand his meaning. He knew that he was not interested in this man's affairs, but that didn't mean he didn't care about what happened in the inn. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and then explained: "I didn't say that I don't care about what happened here, but I feel that my ability is limited and I can't help you solve the problem. I hope you can find a better way to solve the problem."

Meng Jin stood under the dim light, looking at the man in front of him with a serious expression. He said in a deep voice: "All of this needs to be faced by a grown man like you. If you can't even hold your head high, what's the point of breaking free from this cage? Even if I can rescue you from this predicament, where will you live? At least you can still depend on your wife now. Once you leave, you will be left alone and homeless." Although Meng Jin's words were a bit harsh, they were more concerned and worried, like a warm current, warming the man's heart.

The man looked up at Meng Jin, with a glimmer of gratitude in his eyes. Meng Jin continued in his steady and powerful voice: "Think about it carefully. You are not in danger here for the time being. Although your wife has turned into a monster, she has never thought of hurting you." These words were like a heavy hammer, hitting the man's heart and making him begin to reflect deeply on his actions.

The man slowly stepped back and gradually merged into the surrounding darkness. His face was shrouded in haze, and his expression was gloomy and complicated. Finally, he turned and left, disappearing from Meng Jin's sight. Meng Jin retracted his gaze and nodded slightly, as if everything was within his expectations. He knew that the man had made his choice and he would not come back.

So Meng Jin turned around and went back into the house, lay down on the comfortable bed, and prepared to continue his sleep.

In the corridor on the other side, the man walked with heavy steps, as if carrying the heavy past and confusion of the future. He walked down the stairs slowly step by step, and each step seemed to tell his thoughts. He walked into his bedroom, the atmosphere there was familiar and kind, as if it was his safe haven.

The woman was lying on the bed. She heard the man's footsteps and opened her eyes slightly. Her eyes were full of vigilance and doubt, but she didn't show too much emotion. She didn't even turn her head and said lightly: "Don't you want to call for help?" There was a hint of sarcasm and indifference in her voice.

The man turned around and looked at the woman. His eyes were filled with complex emotions, pain, helplessness, and a hint of love. He walked to the bed, looked at the woman and said, "I don't want outsiders to deal with you. After all, you are my wife." His voice was firm and gentle.

Hearing this, the woman suddenly sat up from the bed. She looked at the man in front of her coldly, her eyes full of doubt and confusion. She looked at the entanglement and pain on the man's face, and suddenly laughed. She shook her head and said, "So, what do you decide to do? Continue to resist me? Or..." Before she finished her words, she was interrupted by the man.

The man took a deep breath, looked at the woman and said, "I will live with you honestly. Even if you become a monster, you are still you to me. Whether you want to hurt me or attack me, I have no reason to resist you." There was a hint of determination and persistence in his words, as if he had made some decision.

The woman suddenly fell silent when she heard this. She looked at the man with a complicated look in her eyes. She seemed to be thinking about something, but she didn't say it. The man stood quietly by the bed, waiting for her response.

In the house, the moonlight poured through the window, adding a touch of mystery to the dark space. After hearing this, the woman couldn't help laughing. Her laughter echoed in the empty room, which seemed a little weird. She walked forward step by step, opened her arms, and hugged the man in front of her tightly, as if she wanted to merge him into her body.

The man felt the woman's embrace, but felt that her body was as cold as ice, completely different from the warmth of the past. He knew in his heart that his once gentle and virtuous wife had long since turned into a monster under some unknown force. Perhaps, she was now just a monster in his wife's skin, but the man still chose to accept this cruel reality and continue to live with her.

The next morning, Meng Jin woke up from his dream. He opened his eyes and saw the familiar ceiling. He got up and went downstairs, only to find Qing Que waiting there. Qing Que's eyes revealed a trace of concern. She nodded to Meng Jin and said softly, "Let's go, let's leave here!"

When Meng Jin heard this, he couldn't help but feel an inexplicable emotion in his heart. He looked up at Qingque, trying to find the answer from her eyes. However, Qingque just stood there quietly, waiting for his response. Meng Jin took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He shook his head and said, "Nothing, I don't have any worries. This is just your illusion, let's go!"

Although Qingque was a little confused, she didn't ask any more questions. She just followed Meng Jin silently and left together. They walked through the courtyard, walked out of this temporary residence, and headed towards the unknown.

Before leaving the theater, Meng Jin looked back at the inn behind him. He saw a figure by the window on the second floor of the inn. That figure should be the man. After Meng Jin retracted his gaze, he continued to walk forward calmly, letting go of this very bizarre thing in his heart.
