[Yunnan Army, the country's elite force]

(Sad music plays, gradually moving down from the Chinese map to Yunnan, and the narration begins at the right time.)

In the 33rd year of Emperor Guangxu's reign, Yunnan opened a military academy to learn advanced combat methods. The Governor of Yunnan and Guizhou spent a total of 8 million taels of silver to purchase various new weapons and equipment from foreign countries in order to improve the combat capability of the Yunnan Army.

After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, Songpo General Cai E became the leader of the Yunnan Army. After General Cai E's death, the Yunnan Army was handed over to Tang Jiyao. After Tang Jiyao's death in 1927, after three years of internal fighting, the Yunnan Army was handed over to Long Yun.

In the Yunnan-Guangxi War of 1930, 3 Yunnan troops besieged Nanning, which was defended by 3 Guangxi troops, and fought for four months but returned empty-handed.

(The Chinese map begins to turn to Japan's invasion route)

[In 1931, the September 918th Incident broke out. Chiang Kai-shek pursued the policy of pacifying the country before resisting foreign aggression and turned a blind eye to the Japanese invasion. Moreover, due to the policy of non-resistance, the Japanese invaders quickly occupied the three northeastern provinces of my country. However, Chiang Kai-shek's order to Long Yun was still to "encircle and suppress the Red Army in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan."

After the Xi'an Incident, the Anti-Japanese National United Front was established.

On July 1937, 7, the Marco Polo Bridge Incident occurred and Japan launched a full-scale war of aggression against China, threatening to "destroy China within three months."

Chiang Kai-shek convened a national defense meeting in Nanjing. At the meeting, the leader of the Yunnan Army, Long Yun, expressed his willingness to use all of Yunnan's manpower and financial resources to support the War of Resistance against Japan. He also promised that Yunnan could send 20 troops to support the national war of resistance, and that all supplies and weapons and equipment would be provided by themselves.

Long Yun made a public speech: "The Japanese soldiers are arrogant and unreasonable, and have insulted the Chinese people to the extreme. All Chinese people should make the greatest determination and be prepared to sacrifice for the country!"

The six brigades of the Yunnan Army were organized into the 6th Army of the National Revolutionary Army, which was composed of Han, Bai, Yi, Zhuang, Dai, Yao, Jingpo and other ethnic groups in Yunnan. Lu Han was the commander of the army, which had three divisions under it: the 60nd, 182rd and 183th.

[“Battle of Yuwang Mountain”

The Yunnan Army was supposed to replace Tang Enbo and Yu Xuezhong's troops defending Taierzhuang, but Tang Enbo and Yu Xuezhong fled without waiting for the Yunnan Army to relieve them. The Japanese army took advantage of the gap in the defense line and ambushed the 60th Army before it reached the front line of Taierzhuang.

If the gap was not plugged in time, the Taierzhuang front would collapse completely. In order to cover the main force, more than 183 soldiers from all ethnic groups in Yunnan from the 2nd Battalion of the 500rd Division of the Yunnan Army fought a fierce hand-to-hand fight with the ambushed Japanese army. In the end, due to the huge difference in numbers, all except one person in the battalion died heroically.

Brigadier General Chen Zhongshu of the 60th Army took the opportunity to lead a large force to launch a charge, successfully seizing Xingjialou and Wushengtang, and blocking the gap.

After failing to capture the city, the Japanese used aircraft, artillery and 50 tanks to bomb and attack the Yunnan Army positions. Because they had no anti-tank weapons, the Yunnan Army soldiers could only use explosive packs and grenades to destroy themselves along with the Japanese tanks.

The desperate fighting of the Yunnan Army soldiers frightened the Japanese army. A Japanese military reporter reported: "Today we encountered stubborn resistance from the Barbarian Army." However, the Yunnan Army soldiers were quite proud of the name "Barbarian Army" afterwards.

The Yunnan Army's stubborn defense made it difficult for the Japanese army to break through Taierzhuang from the front, so they changed direction and attacked Yuwang Mountain.

The vanguard of the Japanese army had rushed to the top of the mountain. Zhang Chong, commander of the 184th Division of the Yunnan Army, ordered the Yunnan Army soldiers to launch a charge from the west slope. Braving the fierce firepower of the Japanese army, they captured the main position in one fell swoop and trampled the Japanese army's banner of "long-lasting military destiny" under their feet.

During this battle, the Yunnan Army used Yi and Bai languages to transmit intelligence. The Japanese monitoring system was stunned and could not understand what they were saying. They were completely desperate and helpless.

When the bullets ran out, they used their swords to hack at the enemy. When the swords were bent, they used their fists to attack. They used the craters as shelters and the bodies of their comrades as fortifications, fighting to the death. The Yunnan Army used their flesh and blood to repel the Japanese army again and again.

After the battle, if you picked up a handful of soil from Yuwang Mountain, you could find more than a dozen shrapnel. The bodies of the Yunnan Army soldiers still had their bayoneted rifles tightly grasped in their hands. A note was found in the martyrs' pockets, which read: "Born in Yunnan, died in Shandong."

In major battles such as the Battle of Xuzhou, the Battle of Wuhan, the Battle of Changheng, and the Anti-Japanese War in Southern Yunnan, Yunnan dispatched more than 40 troops and suffered more than 10 casualties.

"Han River Blockade"

During the War of Liberation, the 60th Yunnan Army revolted and joined the People's Liberation Army. After the outbreak of the Korean War, the Yunnan Army was renamed the 50th Volunteer Army.

To cover the retreat of the main force, the 50th Army was ordered to guard the Han River defense line.

In 1951, the U.S. military sent 40 aircraft and more than 200 tanks to attack the 50th Army. There were no shelters in the Han River area, and the 50th Army suffered heavy losses under the U.S. military's overwhelming bombing.

After fighting for eight full days and nights, the 50th Army had suffered nearly casualties.

24 vs. 4, the US Army still couldn't do anything to the 50th Army despite its overwhelming advantages in equipment and numbers. Our army resisted the US Army for 50 days and finally won the victory of the Han River Blocking Battle at the cost of sacrificing more than soldiers. 】

[Although they were a separatist local army, 200,000 men of all ethnic groups in Yunnan shed their blood and sacrificed their lives in the anti-Japanese battlefield and in defending their country. They are not only the pride of Yunnan but also the immortal heroes of our Chinese nation! ]

<Don’t look down on the Yunnan Army. At that time, the Yunnan Army’s weapons and equipment were the most sophisticated in my country>

<Magic Equipment Master>

<Yunnan was very rich at that time, the Yunnan Army led by Cai Songpo>

<You must have heard of the Whampoa Military Academy, but at that time the Yunnan Military Academy was the top military academy. General Zhu and Marshal Ye Jianying both graduated from there>

<Mr. Cai E, the national hero, was the first person to be given a state funeral in the Republic of China>

<My ancestors followed the King of Yunnan out of Yunnan and never came back.>

<Long Yun and Lu Han are both Yi people>

<I thought of Long Yun presenting the map in the Four Crossings of the Chishui River [laughing and crying]>

<The 60th Army of the Yunnan Army, never won a civil war, never lost a foreign war>

The 60th Army wore French helmets and all their weapons and equipment were imported.

<Now that we have mentioned the Gui Army, let’s talk about our Gui Army later>

<Although our Yunnan Army was called the Bear Soldiers in the civil war, we were like the God of War in foreign wars [cool]>

<Brigade Commander Chen Zhongshu was unfortunately hit while charging [sad]>

<Hahaha, we ethnic minorities in Yunnan are very brave, and encrypting conversations is a good thing>

<It seems that when the Japanese heard the Yi and Bai languages, they thought we had invited foreign aid, but they didn’t know which country they were from [covering face]>

The total number of casualties of the Yunnan Army during the Anti-Japanese War should be at least more than 20.

<It is no wonder that the 60th Army revolted. They were not Chiang Kai-shek’s direct troops and had to endure bullying from within the KMT. General Zeng Zesheng saw the truth and led his troops to revolt in Changchun>

<Hey, just like the soldiers of the Ming Dynasty who were owed wages, firing a few shots at them was considered to be a way of showing respect to the Ming Emperor. The 60th Army also fired a few shots, which was considered to be a way of showing respect to Chiang Kai-shek.>

<I am also from Zhaotong. I am honored to be from the same place as General Zeng Zesheng, the commander of the 50th Army [proud]>

<50th Army, the Strongest Shield on Earth!>

<The Yunnan Army is the only army in my country that accepted surrenders across borders [thumbs-up]>

<Salute to the martyrs of the Yunnan Army>

......

"It turned out to be the Yunnan Army! History is really getting worse and worse. I only remember that there was a Yunnan-Burma Road and a rear base during the Anti-Japanese War." Li Ranran reflected on himself: "Well... I still have to read more about these later."

Li Ranran is becoming more and more disgusted with Japan. Although she still watches Japanese TV dramas, variety shows, anime, etc., after watching too much news and history in recent years, it is really difficult for her to have a good impression of Japan anymore.

Thinking of the 731 incident which has recently become a hot topic, Li Ranran felt sad and a nameless anger rose in her heart.

"Japan is so shameless!"

...

After seeing the carpet bombing and various weapons and equipment of the Japanese and American armies, the people of various dynasties were filled with fear and worry. Are they at the same level of development as us at this stage? !

Whether it is the Sichuan Army mentioned before or the Yunnan Army being broadcast now, people from all dynasties can see that Japan and the United States at that time were superior to China in terms of weapons and equipment, but the Sichuan Army and the Yunnan Army were able to win. This is what makes people feel incredible and admired.

As for the Yunnan people and ethnic minorities who were included in the territory, when they saw the bravery and unity of the Yunnan Army, they felt proud and said, "Humph! They are using us as a place of exile, but in the end they still need our help."

“This video doesn’t play more of our Bai language/Yi language/…”
