Clouds and mountain tops

Chapter 1: The Fall of a Master

Early autumn.

There was a slight chill in the air.

Dragon Valley is a very dangerous area. According to legend, many heroes have died here, so it is usually uninhabited.

Baili Lishu and his family live in a village nearby.

Because there are almost no other people coming to the Dragon Valley, they almost always return with a full load every time they go hunting.

One afternoon, Baili Lishu and his son Baili Qi came to the mountain in the Evil Dragon Valley to hunt.

Suddenly, some unusual sounds were heard in the distance. The father and son immediately put away their hunting gear and hid deep in the dense forest on the mountain.

In the narrow valley, a fast horse was galloping forward rapidly. On the horse was a monk in black clothes, and behind the monk was a child.

Suddenly, the monk stopped, pressed the child's sleeping point, wrapped the child in a blanket, and threw the child up the mountain with all his strength, and the child just landed in a big tree branch.

Then, the monk immediately continued to run forward, but after running only about 400 meters, he saw a lot of soldiers pouring out from the opposite side.

The soldiers attacked the monk with spears in one hand and shields in the other.

But the monk waved his hand and a burst of fist force spurted out. The soldier in the front immediately vomited blood and fell backwards. The soldiers behind him continued to rush forward by stepping on the fallen soldiers.

The monk threw another punch, and many soldiers vomited blood, broke bones, and fell backwards.

At this time, some cavalrymen were chasing after the monk. They rushed behind the monk with long swords in their hands and started chopping at him.

But the monk just waved his other hand, and a huge force surged out. The long sword was immediately knocked down by the wind from his fist, and the man on the horse vomited blood and fell off the horse.

The monk kept striking with his hands, and dozens of people on both sides of him had their bones broken, vomited blood, and died instantly.

But those cavalrymen rushed towards the monk like crazy, without any fear at all. Even though all the cavalrymen in front of them were killed and fell off their horses without exception, they still kept rushing towards the monk.

The infantry on the other side did the same. The soldiers behind stepped on the bodies of the soldiers in front and stabbed the monk with their spears.

The monk just used his bare hands to strike continuously, and the soldiers on both sides kept falling to the ground and dying.

Soon, corpses piled up like mountains on both sides of the monk. The monk slapped the horse's buttocks, and the horse leaped forward and hovered in the air. The monk continued to punch.

The soldiers and cavalry also took off into the air, each one of them was in mid-air.

Some soldiers swung their spears or long swords with all their might, hoping to take advantage of the chaos to seriously injure the monk.

However, there seemed to be an invisible air wall around the monk. When the guns and long swords came within a meter around the monk, they seemed to hit the wall and fell down one after another.

Bailiqi and his father did not dare to breathe, for fear that they would be discovered by the soldiers and killed immediately.

Bailiqi was so amazed by the monk's skills that he couldn't help but keep watching and almost screamed out.

Fortunately, his father was quick-witted and immediately covered Bailiqi's mouth with his hand.

Baili Qicai didn't make a sound, otherwise the consequences would be disastrous.

No one knew where the soldiers and cavalry came from, but they came in an endless stream, seemingly without end.

The monk was like a god descending from heaven. His punches were extremely powerful. Anyone who was touched by his punches would die.

The monk took advantage of the opportunity to pick up the spear, leaped up and killed the soldiers with guns.

Wherever the monk's spear swept, the soldiers' spears and shields all fell down.

The monk then swung out with one hand, and those soldiers died instantly. The scene was quite tragic.

The blood on the ground had already spread all over the valley, and the entire valley was filled with a strong fishy smell.

The monk galloped on his horse and killed the soldiers everywhere. Wherever the monk went, all the cavalry on the opposing horse fell off their horses and died!

The battle lasted nearly three hours, and by the end the valley was filled with corpses.

The monk was also exhausted and fell to the ground, and his horse also died of exhaustion.

The monk no longer had the strength to look for the child he had thrown out in the first place.

The valley finally became quiet, but Bailiqi and his father waited for a while before quietly going down to the valley to take a look.

Bailiqi was very envious of the monk. In his heart, the monk's martial arts were simply invincible! He was a god-like existence!

So he and his father went straight to the monk's place, climbed up the pile of corpses, and saw the monk. The monk actually spoke.

"Don't be afraid, benefactor. I am a monk from Pufa Temple, my name is Huiyan. I will soon pass away, but I have a favor to ask. I hope you can fulfill it."

Bailiqi's father said, "Master, you are a master of martial arts, you will not die."

Huiyan said, "My martial arts skills cannot be called peerless, but they are just okay. I really don't have much time left, benefactor, please promise me one thing."

Bailiqi's father said, "Master, please tell me if I can help you."

Huiyan said, "I would like to ask you to take care of the child for me. I left him on a tree branch. Please look for him."

"Please help me raise this child. I have no other request. Thank you very much."

"From now on, the child will follow your surname and live with you, and I will have no regrets."

"As a reward, you can use this bracelet to go to the Pufa Temple in the capital to find the abbot, Master Hui Jing, to get my notes. That was what I agreed with my junior fellow apprentice, Master Hui Jing."

"He won't make things difficult for you. The notebook contains my unique skills, so I'll give it to you."

"After I pass away, I would like you to help me cremate my ashes. This is the second thing I would like to ask you to do."

After Huiyan finished speaking, she took off the bracelet and handed it to Bailiqi's father. After a while, she died.

But he still maintained a sitting posture. Bailiqi's father wanted to ask the master a few more questions, but Huiyan's head was already tilted at this moment.

Bailiqi's father walked up to the master and felt with his hand. The master had no breath left and had truly passed away.

Bailiqi said to Abba, "Abba, I like this master and I respect him very much. Abba, let's help him."

Bailiqi Abba replied, "I also respect this master. Come, let's carry him away and leave this place."

"We don't know if there will be more soldiers coming. If they come again, we will be in trouble."

So Bailiqi and his father worked together to carry the master out of the valley and moved to the other side of the mountain. They collected some dry branches, made a fire, and burned the master.

Then they went to look for the child in the master's mouth because they had seen the master throw something out before.

But Bailiqi's father and his friends were too scared to move, and they didn't see exactly where it was. Now they had no choice but to go look for it nearby.

There were many trees in that place, and it took a long time to find the child.

The child had his sleeping point pressed by the master and was still sleeping.

The master was indeed very skilled, and with a casual throw, he actually made the child fall on the branch with his back facing downwards. The child could sleep with his face up and did not feel any pain.

Bailiqi's father had no way to wake the child up, so he had to hold the child in his arms.

The two returned to the body of Master Huiyan, which was almost burnt. The three of them waited there for a while, preparing to pack up the Master's ashes and take them away.
