Chapter 590 How Terrifying is the Kill Line in the United States?
People who have lived in China for a long time and are protected by the state often overlook the inherent cruelty of the world.
[When you see scenes of rampant drug trafficking and zombies everywhere, a scene straight out of a kill zone.]
[Chinese netizens will instinctively tag the San Francisco Municipal Health Commission and ask curiously: Why doesn't the government intervene?]
Because people have become less empathetic and don't realize that American-style horror is truly terrifying.
[Here are a few trending terms to give you a feel for it: human pig balloon, human skin kite, half a human]
Note that a horizontal cut is called a segment, while a vertical split is called a fan.

The supply of parts has peak and off-peak seasons. A mother holding her child's warm body asked: "Would the body of a child who died from an overdose of sleeping pills be more expensive?"
A father went to collect his 27-year-old son's belongings, only to be met with a plastic bag containing human brain tissue delivered by the funeral home.
To extract adrenaline-rich secretions from infants in extreme pain, they would painstakingly tear open the baby's skin, extracting the secretions amidst the baby's cries... This extreme physical discomfort, [the way the Sanity level drops drastically]...
[The "kill line" plus the wholesale of used Gundam models—truly a wicked and deadly method of social governance]
The American people are a treasure trove from head to toe; they are the most valuable talent in the 21st century.
Once this premise is accepted, many mysteries surrounding the other side of the ocean can be easily solved.
[First of all, as a well-known immigration country on Earth and a popular destination for immigrants, China has a large influx of immigrants every year, does not restrict births, prohibits abortion in some areas, allows dual citizenship, and has advanced medical care, yet its population has not grown much.]
[Excluding those who immigrate illegally, illegally, or through loopholes, there are about 3 million legal immigrants every year, yet the total number remains at 300 million. Where have all the living people gone?]
These 300 million people are no ordinary group. Although they only account for 4% of the global population, they supply 70% of the world's blood plasma, consume 70% of the world's drugs, imprison 25% of the world's prisoners, and export the world's largest number of Gundam organizations. Despite the massive input and high-intensity consumption, their total numbers have dynamically balanced out.
Even in such an extreme situation as the kill line, there is a bug.
This bug actually refers to Chinese people in the US.
Many people are wondering why, even in 2025 with the internet so developed, it's only now, at the beginning of 2025, that we Chinese people have learned about this phenomenon: the United States actually has a "kill line."
A significant part of the reason lies in the channels through which Chinese people understand the operating mechanisms of American society.
[And a significant portion of this channel comes from Chinese people in the United States.]
These Chinese immigrants who crossed the ocean in the past, out of pride and vanity, were unwilling to talk too much about the dark side of the United States; on the other hand, they carried their own return scrolls, which allowed them to exploit bugs and escape the execution line.
[So how did the Chinese manage to escape the kill line bug?]
This requires understanding how the kill threshold is triggered.
The US's "killing sword" is essentially a harvesting system designed with low fault tolerance.
High student loan debt, high health insurance costs, no savings, high taxes... any mistake in any of these areas could lead to elimination.
But what about Chinese people? They are completely different.
First of all, Chinese people have an innate gene for saving.
Even those who wash dishes will save some of their earnings and have an extreme aversion to debt;
Americans have become accustomed to overspending, with one-third of Americans having less than $400 in savings. If they lose their jobs, defaulting on their mortgage payments next month will trigger a financial disaster, leading to their homes being repossessed by the banks and them sleeping on the streets.
The result is that when faced with a crisis, Americans' health bars are instantly depleted, while Chinese people's health bars are surprisingly thick.
This ability to withstand risks is nothing short of a miracle in a society like the United States where everything is exposed.
The second bug is that Chinese people skipped the student loan OOT (Out of Time) section. The heaviest burden for Americans is student loans with interest rates of 8% or even more than 10%. Even Obama didn't pay off his college loans until he was over 40.
This is not a problem at all in the Chinese community. Either the parents in China sell everything they own to support them, and they go out with super equipment and zero debt.
Either second-generation Chinese immigrants can get a full scholarship by pushing themselves to the limit;
Even those who aren't academically strong will have a significantly higher level of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills thanks to the foundation they built in third grade, giving them a clearer advantage over the average working-class person in the US, and thus more job opportunities.
The third bug is the amazing ability of Chinese players to return to base. Many Americans are killed, possibly because of an illness, but Chinese players have return scrolls!
A significant number of Chinese people, unless their illness is so severe that they are about to die on the spot, will not call 911 as their first reaction, but will instead buy a plane ticket to return to China for medical treatment.
Comparing a round-trip ticket costing 10,000 to 20,000 RMB to a bill of $50,000, even a fool would know which to choose.
Even more cunning are some overseas Chinese who haven't cancelled their Chinese household registration and are still able to enjoy the reimbursement benefits of Chinese medical insurance.
These two-way profiteering tactics make those at the bottom of society who can't afford American healthcare think.
Even those who can't return to China and need medical care can simply go to a small clinic in Chinatown; there will always be some unlicensed Chinese doctors who will treat them. And although Chinatown is chaotic and has its share of dirty work, it at least provides a basic function: survival. If you can wash dishes or do manual labor, you'll have a skill that will keep you from starving, and there are family-run guesthouses to stay in.
Even if Chinese Americans were to fall below the cutoff line, as long as they sell their houses before being cut off, convert their dollars into RMB and return to China, it would be a three-dimensional attack, and finding a county town to retire in peace would not be a problem.
And what about a white American who has lost his home? His only refuge is a tent on the street.
Therefore, in the eyes of the United States, Chinese people are not playing a survival game, but rather cheating. Because the Chinese community is rarely killed, they naturally cannot convey that sense of despair to those in China who can truly empathize with them.
So even though the US TV series hinted at it so clearly, the Chinese people still didn't realize the existence of the "death line" until the end of 2025.
"When I first watched The Pursuit of Happyness, I was curious and looked into why the male lead became homeless with his son after losing his job..."
Why are many overseas Chinese unable to perceive the US's "cutting line"?
1. Studying at a university in China allowed me to avoid student loans in the United States;
2. If you get sick, you can go back to your home country for medical treatment;
3. Having received basic education in China, they avoided the "happy education" approach and their cognitive level is relatively higher than that of foreign societies.
4. Growing up in Chinese society fostered a value of saving;
5. The overseas Chinese saying that "foreign countries have no social customs" actually means that they are not so dark-skinned that they would be kicked out of white communities, nor so white that they would have to bear the high and respectable expenses of mingling in white social circles.
6. Psychologically, there is always the ultimate option of returning to China if all else fails;
7. Children raised in China who have received compulsory education are unlikely to use drugs, and they have a mindset of eugenics and are unlikely to engage in promiscuous sex or have children indiscriminately.
"Leaving aside illegal immigrants, let's talk about Chinese people who legally remain in the United States. First of all, families who can afford to fly to the United States are usually well-off and have financial backing, which can be provided by China. Even if they can't get financial support, they can be brought back to China and supported, so they have a way out."
Secondly, they received a good basic education in China before going to the United States, and were influenced by their parents, teachers and society to develop a sense of competition and crisis, making them highly competitive.
Furthermore, they brought their savings habits to the United States, making them more resilient to risks. They are capable of both offense and defense; do native-born American working-class people have this advantage?
"My friend is like that, her whole family has green cards in the US, she works for half a year and then comes back to visit! She's having a blast! [doge] She also has a bunch of capable relatives here, and she still has the house... Life couldn't be better... [laughs]"
"The target of the cutoff line is not wealthy Chinese who have gone abroad, but foreigners, those from the local lower class, or foreigners who have run into trouble and can't pay their bills."
"The doctor that Donut met might have been the only one who was kind to him. After the consultation, the doctor told him to leave through the back door so he wouldn't have to pay, but he insisted on going through the front door and ended up with a bill for 5600! And that doctor didn't prescribe any painkillers, which helped him avoid his drug addiction [awkward laugh]!"
"My classmate studied and worked abroad for thirteen years and returned to China this year. I always thought he had immigrated, but he didn't. He has retained his Chinese citizenship. I suddenly think he's quite smart [laughing and crying emoji]"
"To be honest, there were many Fujianese who illegally immigrated a long time ago, but when they went out to work for fellow Fujianese, they were provided with food and lodging, and Chinese people would help each other (many of them came from the same place and knew each other), so they were generally able to save money. Many of those who went out to work in the last century would return home to retire."
Zheng He: Do you finally understand? My invincible fleet went out for a spin, and everyone wanted to go home.
The ancients under the sky: We thought that future generations would live as happily as our descendants, without having to worry about war or hunger, only having to worry about trivial matters, being able to eat and drink to their heart's content, and living a prosperous life without any worries about food and clothing.
Those so-called developed countries only live better lives than people in our country.
Didn't you see the envy in the eyes of some people from later generations when they talked about the so-called United States?
I never imagined that the people of that country, which sounds so beautiful, would live such a miserable life, even after thousands of years of development, they are still worse off than us ancient people.
No matter what happens to us, we still have land to grow and food to eat! Although we may sometimes go hungry, at least we won't eat random things containing Gundam. If a family member dies in an accident, we can find a straw mat to bury them properly without worrying about their body being stolen.
Their rulers really don't treat the people like human beings at all!
The scholar standing nearby corrected him: What thousands of years? Didn't you see that the sky said that the United States has only been developing for more than 200 years?
The person, who was just lamenting life, got angry when he was said this for no reason. He already had a bad temper, so he retorted: Of course I know it's more than 200 years. What I meant was that we are thousands of years away from the future. Do I need you to come here to correct me?
Yes, yes, you're so knowledgeable and know everything, but if someone says something slightly off, you have to come over and criticize them to show off how knowledgeable you are, right?
With all the books you've read and all the knowledge you have, how come you didn't pass the imperial examination at the lowest level? So many people from the same region took the exam, yet you were the only one who failed. Are you going to tell me that story of how you failed the exam again?
I'm really sorry, I'm a rough person, not very educated, and I don't understand profound principles.
During the Tang Dynasty.
Wei Zheng looked at the sky above and saw the people of the United States living in misery, with society in chaos. He denounced the ruling party in the United States as cruel, heartless, and inhumane, and said that the people should not be treated as human beings.
After finishing his tirade, he glanced at his emperor, Li Shimin, vowing to make Li Shimin take this future nation on the sky as a negative example and learn from it.
Li Shimin was getting annoyed by Wei Zheng's constant nagging, but then a sudden flash of inspiration struck him, and he found himself transported to the social system of America, instantly feeling a deep empathy and shedding tears.
Wei Qing is right. I must take this country as a warning. If the people of my Great Tang become like this, it will be a testament to my incompetence as the ruler of the Great Tang.
