Chairman Mao took the letter very seriously after reading it. He understood that the Wa people's loyalty to the Central Plains had never changed, and the new China must never forget this ethnic group.

[So, he immediately instructed the Yunnan Prefectural Committee to send representatives to Banlao to appease the Wa people and make it clear that the Banlao area and the Wa people must return to the motherland]

The Wa ethnic group was first recorded in historical documents as early as the pre-Qin period, and this ethnic group once appeared in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas".

Regarding the origin of the Wa nationality, the ethnic group has always passed down the legend of "Sigangli". "Sigang" refers to "Hulu Cave" and "Li" means to come out, meaning that their ancestors walked out of "Hulu Cave".

From this myth, we can know that the ancestors of the Wa people originally lived in caves.

It was not until the reign of Emperor Wu of Han that the Wa people came under the jurisdiction of the Central Plains dynasty, but the Wa people of this period only obeyed orders and did not listen to orders. This situation was not changed until the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty by Zhuge Liang.

Three Kingdoms period.

When Emperor Zhaolie of Han, Liu Bei, just passed away, Zhuge Liang urgently needed to stabilize domestic affairs and clear up the southern border in order to be able to concentrate on the Northern Expedition.

So he personally led his army to the south, passed through the Banlao area, and brought the Central Plains culture and advanced farming techniques to the Wa people, thus establishing a certain connection between the Wa people and the Central Plains dynasty.

When Zhuge Liang got along with them, he found that they not only learned more efficient farming methods, but also showed extraordinary loyalty to their regime in the Central Plains.

In the third year of Jianxing in the Shu Han Dynasty, Prime Minister Zhuge Liang signed an alliance with the Kanamanjuan tribe of the Wa people, requiring the Wa people to submit to the Shu Han court, help Shu Han guard the border, and never rebel.

On the other hand, the Shu Han court recognized that the Hulu King's land belonged to the Shu Han territory. If anyone invaded the Wa tribe, Shu Han would send troops to support them. As the chief king of the Wa people, Kanamanjuan enjoyed the power to rule the Wa people, and the throne was hereditary.

Zhuge Liang, now gray-haired, recalled the original scene. No matter how smart he was, he never expected that the Wa people would stick to this contract for more than a thousand years.

The sky is high and the earth is vast, but the ties between our people are even deeper.

Mountains, rivers and streams are not as deep as the love of my people.

The righteousness of our people is as solid as a rock and will never be shaken.

From this perspective, being able to become a family with such a loyal and righteous ethnic group, to jointly face foreign enemies and defend the country is not only a blessing for future generations, but also his own.
