Chapter 30 Breaking out of the siege

Franz expressionlessly chopped off the insects that pounced on him one by one, and the bursting juice soaked his shoulders.

At first he would carefully avoid it, but after being covered in it and realizing that it had no other effect other than making him feel disgusted, he no longer even bothered to dodge.

There was a sound of breaking air from the left side. Franz didn't even turn his head and chopped with the same force as before.

"Dang~!"

The hard shell lifted the sword high, and the huge impact force made Franz lose his balance.

“Fuck! Aaaaaah!!”

Miserable cries were heard, and in the light of the torch, Li En saw several mercenaries being knocked down by cheetah-sized insects with dark purple shells.

The mercenaries around them shouted their names and were about to rescue them, but they saw nearby insects swarming over them, screaming and blood spurting out.

In just over ten seconds, the swarm of insects dispersed, leaving only some bloody rags.

Under everyone's incredulous gazes, a few of the ordinary bugs that ate the most quickly grew larger and evolved into dark purple forms that killed the mercenaries.

"Hi~!"

The successfully evolved insects opened their hideous mouthparts, let out unpleasant roars, and looked at the crowd with eyes flashing with excitement and desire.

For a moment, the mercenaries subconsciously took a breath. After traveling around Shurima for so many years, this was the first time they had seen such a terrifying and strange creature. Some people even began to doubt whether this was still life?

Some of the young mercenaries showed obvious fear on their faces.

"Bang bang bang!"

Samira raised her gun and fired, and the swarm of void larvae exploded one after another due to the bullets. Then she slashed with her long sword, tearing a path through the swarm.

"Crench!"

Stepping on the half-dead larva, Samira jumped to the front of the adult insect and cut it down with a knife.

"Puch!"

The sharp long knife cut into the connection of the dark purple shell, and the Void Adult was directly split into two halves.

Sticky juice spurted out from the broken part. Samira dodged it nimbly and returned to the front of the crowd.

"Follow me and kill them! They are just bigger bugs! Aim for the joints and don't rush. Pay attention to each other's blind spots and be careful of sneak attacks from these monsters!"

Samira shook the slime off the knife and yelled.

"Oh! Boss is so powerful!"

"Go, kill these disgusting monsters!"

Seeing Samira deal with an adult insect so easily, the mercenaries' morale was boosted and they shouted excitedly.

"Hi~!"

The bugs seemed to be enraged by the shouting of the crowd, and they pounced on them even more frantically.

At the same time, as if noting Samira's fighting power, most of the adults on the field gathered around her.

Even though Samira was extremely powerful, she was unable to hit the joints every time in the melee, and was in a tough fight for a while.

Samira leaped backwards to avoid the three adult insects that pounced on her, twisted her body in the air, and killed two of them with one blow.

The sticky liquid just splashed on her footing. After her toes touched the ground, they inevitably slid, and her body paused for a moment. As if they had calculated it, the four of them seized this opportunity and pounced on her.

Guns and swords were wielded, and three adults were killed and repelled, except for the one at the back which was too late to be dealt with.

"It happened!"

Sensing the air disturbance behind her, Samira adjusted her body, preparing to take the blow with the thickest part of her armor.

"Bang~!"

There was a clear sound of a gunshot.

The hideous adult was torn into two halves, and after piercing each other's bodies, it cleared a straight path through the swarm of insects.

Samira glanced back and saw Li En put down his gun and smiled, winking at her. She smiled and nodded, then turned to face the swarm again.

Looking at Samira charging into the swarm of insects, Li En said to the person beside him: "Safet, support Samira!"

"Yes... Uh! But your safety, sir..."

Safet agreed subconsciously, and then reacted immediately.

"The contrast between the Zerg swarm before and after is too great. There is probably someone controlling it. We need to keep as many people as possible. Samira is the leader of the mercenaries. Only with her will the mercenaries stay in order. We must protect her!"

"Yes, sir, I understand!"

After saying this, Safet drew out the giant axe behind him and rushed into the battlefield.

Unlike Samira's nimble and swift fighting style that combines a pistol with a long sword, Safet is like a heavy tank. Every move he makes is very simple, but the destructive power he causes is almost equal to that of the entire mercenary group combined.

The speed of the group's breakout increased several times, and they could vaguely see the yellow sand at the end of the swarm.

-----------------

"Bang bang bang!"

With Samira's last few shots, she finally broke the encirclement of the swarm of insects, and the few remaining insects gradually burrowed into the sand and disappeared.

Looking at the yellow sand that was so familiar that it was annoying, everyone felt a sense of familiarity in their hearts.

At this time, the sky was slightly brighter and dawn finally arrived, as if heralding the end of this nightmare.

"Oh my god, it finally came out! I'm so tired!"

"This slime is disgusting. Damn it, all my equipment is left at the camp and I can't even change it!"

"Your problem is nothing, look at me, it's all over me from head to toe!"

The mercenaries who survived the disaster began to chat with each other, with a lot of horse talk in their words, using this method to soothe their tense nerves.

"Alright! Stop talking nonsense here and take care of yourself. This place may not be safe. Let's leave quickly!"

After Samira finished speaking, the mercenaries dealt with the slime obediently - they picked up sand and scrubbed it. Some of them were covered in sand and simply lay on the sand and rolled back and forth. The scene was quite lively for a while.

Samira walked towards Li En, and Safet stood beside him. These three were the only ones in the team who were not covered with mucus. Samira was quick and nimble, and avoided these disgusting things.

Safet relied on his enchanted full body armor to keep them out. The water would flow down the armor the moment it splashed on him. After a battle, the armor was as shiny as new.

This attracted many people's attention, but due to Safet's amazing fighting ability, there was only envy in their eyes.

Unscrewing the lid, Li En smiled and handed the water bag to Samira.

"Drink some water!"

"Thank you!"

Without hesitation, she took the water bag and drank.

The clear water mixed with honey moistened Samira's throat, and the slightly sweet taste refreshed her.

"Ha! Alive!"

"How does the Ramos sect's ritual compare to this?" Li En pointed at the crowd that was raising clouds of dust.

"It's much more spectacular than this! I can understand worshipping Ramos, but imitating the way he moves, rolling like a bucket. I don't know if they won't shake their brains into mush!"

Suddenly, Samira paused and said, "Uh, sorry, did I ruin your expectations?"

"No, I know this from a book, but I still want to go and see it in person!"

"Hahaha! Then you better cover your hair. The dust they raise will cover the sky!"
