I fought guerrilla warfare in the Yimeng Mountains during the Anti-Japanese War

After a round of intensive attacks, the Japanese marching troops suffered heavy casualties and retreated westward while organizing a counterattack.

After ten minutes of fighting, the Japanese army retreated to the wetlands by the lake. In a short period of time, they left behind corpses and scattered baggage on the ground.

The Japanese army did not continue to attack the Qilin Mountain front. Instead, they separated a regiment of troops and planned to bypass the blocking position in front and attack Linyi from the side and rear of the position after reaching the northwest of Cheshan. Seeing that the firepower on this position was still sufficient, the mortar position that had been ravaged by the Second Regiment's artillery continued to fire ten rounds at a slow rate. At the same time, the mountain artillery and field artillery also fired at the Second Regiment's artillery position that had been urgently mapped.

The battlefield was filled with gunpowder smoke and the sound of killing was deafening. With the protection of the door panels and the soil layer, the mortar shells had limited damage. Seeing the continuous artillery fire in front of them, the Japanese soldiers guessed that the light and heavy machine guns and submachine guns had been suppressed, so they climbed up and rushed to the position quickly.

The soldiers of the Second Regiment stared at the Japanese soldiers who were getting up, not giving them any chance to breathe. The firepower continued to be dense and intertwined, with close distance, fast firing rate and sufficient firepower. The Japanese attacking troops were lying on the ground in a blink of an eye, and the remaining troops behind had to retreat. A battalion of attacking troops came up, and less than two squads retreated.

At the Qilin Mountain position, the soldiers had no time to celebrate their victory. While the Japanese army was not firing, they continued to reinforce the soil on the door panels from the sides.
