We agreed to farm, why do you go to the palace every day?

Chapter 134 Going to the Village to Help

"Madam, the cape is indeed nice, but it doesn't suit us. We'll come back next time if we find a suitable one!"

Although the proprietress felt a little regretful, she still said generously: "I'll save it for you next time, so remember to come!"

Luo Yu smiled and nodded, paid the bill with the proprietress, got on the carriage, and the family returned to the village.

Since Luo Yu's home was at the entrance of the village, the villagers were unaware of the presence of the carriage and there was no commotion; everyone was still immersed in the happiness of the warm kang and stayed in the house to enjoy it.

After returning to the village, Mu Feng drove the carriage to deliver rice to Yun Niang or Aunt Lin's house, and then returned home.

When I went out, the heated kang at home was already on, so when I came back home I felt warm all over.

Luo Yu felt sorry for Mu Feng who had been driving the carriage all day and was outside in the wind and cold, so when he returned to the house, he hurriedly urged him to go inside to warm himself up, and even boiled water for him to take a bath.

However, Mu Feng did not care about himself at all. After returning to the house, he first fed the horse, even mixing water with hot water; then he moved the rice and flour to the house where grain was stored, and put the meat in the kitchen.

He didn't put down the work until Luo Yu boiled the water and urged him again and again.

"Go take a bath and warm yourself up. Don't catch a cold! I can take off your clothes myself!"

When Luo Yu was about to carry the hot water in, Mu Feng came over and took it: "Let me do it, do you want to take a bath too!"

Luo Yu shook his head: "I was warming myself by the fire in the carriage today, so I didn't feel cold. But you were cold all day, and you only cared about the horses when you came back."

Mu Feng smiled and said, "It would be troublesome if the horse got sick."

"Okay! Ma'er is lucky to have you! Then you carry the hot water in, and I'll get you some clothes."

"it is good!"

After saying that, Luo Yu quickly ran to Mu Feng's room to help him get clothes, while Mu Feng carried buckets of hot water to the bathroom.

"I've put the clothes away, go wash them quickly!"

As Luo Yu spoke, he came out of the bathroom, took the clothes from the carriage back to the room, and hung them in the closet.

The stove was lit, and Luo Ci sat by the fire to warm herself, while Luo Yu was sorting out the pork she had bought.

After sorting out some of them, Luo Yu put them into the pot and stewed them with the bones.

When Mu Feng came out of the shower, Luo Yu had already cleaned up the kitchen. Seeing that there was nothing to do, Mu Feng took Luo Ci to the study to practice calligraphy and read.

Just two days passed, and as Brother Shu and Brother Yu returned to the village, they found that in some villages, houses had collapsed due to snow, and food was buried under the ruins. Gradually, some people had frozen to death or starved to death.

I guess if the snow gets heavier, the imperial court will have to provide disaster relief.

They were worried and only built heated kangs for those families who had already paid. Others who wanted to build them could only make plans after they returned to the village to investigate the situation.

The village head was secretly relieved that although they were away from home, their hearts were still with their family.

The collapsed houses in the village were where the people had built heated kangs.

They were only concerned with going out to make money, completely ignoring the fact that their wives and children at home were suffering from the cold. Looking at all this, they blamed themselves and felt that they had committed a heinous crime!

Fortunately, the village head arranged for them to rest at home in time, otherwise when they returned, they would probably see only a few bones. Their gratitude to the village head was beyond words.

When everyone learned about the misfortune that had happened to their family, they took a short rest and then went to help.

The family whose house collapsed was surnamed Wang, and they lived next to Lin Luoluo’s old house. Luo Yu had some impression of them.

Uncle Wang looked at the ruins of the old house, and then saw that his wife and children were not injured. He felt sad and relieved.

Fortunately, Uncle Wang made a lot of money building heated beds these days, so he made a quick decision to build a new house directly, so that when he was working hard outside, he would be more assured about his wife and children at home.

Everybody agreed with this, and then began to divide the work. Some went to purchase materials for building the house, and some went to clean up the ruins. Everyone was full of energy and worked hard without complaint, as if they were handling their own business.

Aunt Lin told Luo Yu about this and she was also very worried.

So she, Mu Feng and Aunt Lin went to help together, and Luo Ci asked Luo Luo to help look after the kids.

Seeing them all coming over to help, Uncle Wang was very grateful and said, "Why did you come over? It's so cold, Luo Yu, you should stay at home, be careful not to catch a cold!"

Aunt Wang also pulled Luo Yu and said, "That's right, why are you here?"

Luo Yu was thankful at this moment and said, "Aunt, luckily you and the child are fine. I only found out about it today after hearing what Aunt Lin said. I came to see if there is anything I can help with."

Uncle Wang looked at her and Mu Feng and said gratefully, "Luckily I have your recipe for a heated kang, otherwise the house would collapse and I wouldn't have the money to rebuild it."

"Uncle Wang deserves it all, so there's no need to express gratitude."

So Luo Yu and the others helped for two days, all of which involved moving stones. Luo Yu was unable to help, and Luo Ci had a cough. Mu Feng was worried, so he asked her to stay at home to take care of Luo Ci, while he and Uncle Lin went to help.

Luo Yu was also worried that Luo Ci would be seriously ill, so he said to Aunt Wang: "Aunt, Ah Ci is not feeling well, I have to go home to take care of her, I am sorry that I can't come. If you need my help, just let Mu Feng go home and tell me."

When Aunt Wang heard that Luo Ci was ill, she said loudly: "Of course, taking care of your child is more important. There are so many people in my village who are helping me. You should take good care of the child. Auntie knows your intentions, so go home quickly!"

Luo Yu did not delay and went to their home with Aunt Lin to pick up Luo Ci. As expected, her smiling face was red due to coughing. Luo Yang also had a cold, so when he met Aunt Lin, he didn't want to be alone and stuck to her.

"Aunt, I'm taking Ah Ci back home. Luo Luo, I'm leaving now!"

He held Luo Ci in his arms and went home.

As soon as she got home, Luo Yu boiled ginger soup and medicine. Luo Ci's forehead felt a little hot, and she coughed from time to time. She looked listless, which made her feel heartbroken!

After boiling the medicine, he coaxed Luo Ci to drink it: "Ah Ci, let's drink the medicine, and you won't cough tomorrow!"

Luo Ci did not refuse. After drinking all the medicine that Luo Yu fed her, she kept retching and crying, holding on to her clothes tightly and refusing to let go.

Luo Yu watched her drink the medicine obediently, kissed her forehead, carried her back to the house, and prepared to let her sleep.

Luo Ci fell asleep soon after lying down because of the medicine she had taken; Luo Yu wanted to make some porridge for her, but he was worried that she would kick off the quilt and she would not want to drink porridge for a while since she had just fallen asleep, so he slept with her.

After a while, sweat started to appear on Luo Ci's forehead. She wanted to stretch out her hand and kick the quilt, but Luo Yu stopped her and coaxed her softly.

While busy, Luo Yu fell asleep unknowingly; when she woke up, half an hour had passed.

Seeing that Luo Ci was sleeping soundly, she quietly got up and went to the kitchen to cook porridge.

After the porridge was cooked, she went into the room to see Luo Ci, only to see the little girl's mouth opening and closing. She could only put her ear close to her, trying hard to hear what she was saying.

"Auntie!"
