Chapter 541: Ancient Buddhist Temple in the Deserted Mountain

Tomorrow is high in the sky, the sun is not too hot, and the spring breeze is warm.

The road was covered with overgrown grass. Chu Mo and the others rode on their war horses, accompanied by the faint chirping of insects in the deep grass, which was quite an experience.

Now, Chu Mo has left Cangshan County and come to the neighboring Tiansuo County.

Although Chu Mo was not involved in the affairs of Cangshan County, Emperor Tang Tiansheng had already arranged everything, and Prime Minister Wei Yu was supervising the implementation. The counties of Luzhou also sent additional support personnel to try their best to save Cangshan County.

Earlier, the encirclement and suppression of the Hengjiang bandits, the foiling of the Divine Punishment plan, the interception of the Divine Punishment members, etc., were all done by Chu Mo's subordinates under his command.

But now, Chu Mo’s staying there would play a very small role, so he stopped interfering and directly led everyone to move forward.

Jiang Qin and Zhou Tai were left in Cangshan County by Chu Mo. Firstly, they could act according to the circumstances, and secondly, they were naval generals and could use the legacy left by the Lancang River and Hengjiang bandits to recruit and train a navy in case of emergency.

The high mountains in the distance are layered upon layer, shrouded in clouds and mist, appearing hazy.

Chu Mo took out a jar of wine, opened it, and immediately a fragrance spread out, which made people intoxicated at the smell.

The name of this wine is Yunshuijian.

The mist and rain make the mountains and rivers intoxicating, and the sake drips between the clouds and water. It is a kind of wine that makes people feel as if they are swimming in white clouds and clean water. It is cool and delicious when they drink it.

Just as everyone was enjoying the wine, suddenly, a melodious bell sound seemed to pass through the mountains and rivers, lingering in everyone's ears.

Yao Guangxiao's ears moved slightly, and then he put his hands together and said, "Amitabha, my lord, the sound of this bell carries a strong sense of Zen. There must be a temple here, and there must be a great monk in the temple. Why don't you follow the sound of the bell and take a look."

Chu Mo, who originally thought he was hallucinating, suddenly found it interesting after hearing what Yao Guangxiao said, "This temple is located in the wild mountains and forests, which is different from those Buddhist temples located in the downtown area and competing for incense. The monk you mentioned is very extraordinary, so we can discuss it."

After saying this, he urged his horse forward and headed towards the direction where the faint bell rang.

After passing through the winding road, you can see layers of stone stairs leading into the depths of the jungle.

Chu Mo took back the green-eyed jade dragon and led everyone slowly towards the stone stairs.

At this time, in addition to Sarliang, Yang Jiye and Yao Guangxiao, there were several more monks in the team.

The leading monk had kind eyes and a compassionate look on his face. He clasped his hands together, and the image of Buddha seemed to be reflected in his eyes. He was wearing moon-white plain clothes, which was simple and plain.

Name: Li Yinzhi

Weapons: Dingguang Xuanyin Bell, Wuji Miao Pagoda

Practice: "Buddhist Scriptures on Enlightenment of Bodhi"

Faction: Human (Buddhist)

Potential: Casting Gold Body

Cultivation: Peak of the Second Level of Body-Replenishing Stage

Introduction: Li Yinzhi, whose surname is Li and courtesy name is Yinzhi, was a monk of the Yunmen sect in the Song Dynasty. He was born in Pengxi County, Sichuan Province. He was educated at home and aspired to leave the world. Later, Li Yinzhi became a monk in Pu'an Temple in Yizhou. He first studied sutras and Vinaya, and then specialized in meditation. He learned the Dharma from Master Zhimenzuo in the North Pagoda of Fuzhou.

He preached at Cuifeng Temple in Suzhou and Zisheng Temple in Xuedou Mountain in Mingzhou, and was praised as the founder of the revival of the Yunmen Sect. Li Yinzhi passed away in the fourth year of Huangyou at the age of seventy-three, and was posthumously named "Master Mingjue".

Behind Li Yinzhi, there were five young monks with young faces, namely Shi Zuqin, Shi Miaolun, Shi Shouyuan, Shi Zonggao and Shi Shiguan.

They are all comparable to Li Yinzhi, and are also well versed in Buddhism. Each of them has their own research and explanation of Buddhism, and their own explanations of Buddhism, as well as articles and poems that have been circulated.

Now with Yao Guangxiao, there are seven monks who are well versed in Buddhism. Since we are discussing the Dharma, of course the more people the better. They can each expound on his own Buddhist teachings, learn from each other's strengths and make up for each other's weaknesses, so that the wisdom of past lives can collide with current thoughts. It is exciting just to think about it.

Chu Mo glanced at everyone, cleared his throat and said, "Yang Jiye, Sarliang, you guys stay at the foot of the mountain. The blood of the military monks is boiling, don't taint the Buddhist high ground."

Sarliang didn't say much, just stood there quietly, firmly obeying every order given by Chu Mo.

Yang Jiye looked worried and said, "My Lord, it would be fine if you don't let me follow you, but General Sar is the one who specifically guards your safety. Moreover, he is the most powerful among us. I will be worried if he doesn't follow me."

"This ancient temple deep in the mountains is very strange. If the other party has some intention, isn't it a bit too risky to rely on Yao Guangxiao and his men alone?"

Before Chu Mo could speak, Yao Guangxiao stepped out and said, "General Jiye, I know you are worried about the safety of our lord, but I am practicing the Way of Karma. This ancient temple is full of Zen and Buddhism, so there will be no danger."

Chu Mo continued, "Jiye, just wait here with peace of mind. Even if I really run into danger, I can protect myself. By then, it won't be too late for you and Sarliang to go up the mountain to support me."

Yang Jiye thought what he said made sense, so he nodded.

Finally, he did not forget to ask: "My lord, please be careful. General Sar and I are waiting for you to come down the mountain."

So, Chu Mo and Yang Jiye separated, and he led Yao Guangxiao, Li Yinzhi and others up the mountain along the stone steps.

Walking up the stone steps, we soon arrived at the gate of a Buddhist temple.

There was a verse written on each side of the Buddhist temple.

Chu Mo looked at the stone pillars on both sides and read out the verse word by word.

"The ancient temple has no lights but relies on the moon for light, the mountain gate is not locked yet waiting for the clouds to seal it."

When Yao Guangxiao and the other seven people saw this Buddhist verse, they all quietly comprehended the artistic conception of the verse. Only Chu Mo, although he also had some understanding, was unable to deeply comprehend the artistic conception since he did not practice this Tao after all.

Looking at the seven people who were lost in thought, Chu Mo quietly observed the surrounding environment and things without disturbing them.

Chu Mo looked up at the plaque hanging on the temple gate, with the words "Qingzhao Temple" engraved on it.

The green lamp and the ancient Buddha accompany the ringing of the bell, illuminating the four directions and eliminating disasters.

In the back mountain of Qingzhao Temple, a burly figure walked out from behind an ancient tree. What was surprising was that this person was wearing a mask.

If Chu Mo discovered at this opportunity, he would find that this was exactly the same mask worn by the Shusi divine servant he met in Cangshan County, except that the pattern this time was replaced by Dang Kang.

Obviously, this person is also a member of the Divine Punishment Organization. As for why he came to an ancient temple in a deserted mountain, I am afraid he is the only one who knows.

Then, Buddha's light flashed in his eyes, and he saw endless Sanskrit characters emerging around the wall of Qingzhao Temple. It was obvious that this ancient temple in the desolate mountain was protected by Buddhism.

The next second, Kang Shenshi's body shape kept changing, and soon he became a little monk wearing gray monk's robes.

At the same time, the Buddha's light was shining all around him, and Sanskrit words appeared.

The Buddhist doctrine of protecting the ancient temple and preventing outsiders from entering was thus easily resolved by him, when the divine servant Kang easily sneaked into Qingzhao Temple.

It all happened so silently, without causing even a ripple.

Even the abbot of Qingzhao Temple, who was sitting cross-legged in the main hall, quietly beating a wooden fish, was not alarmed.

Then, when Kang Shenshi transformed himself into a young monk, he blended directly into the backyard chores and completed everything from beginning to end without anyone noticing.
