【One Piece】Dawn in the Darkness

Lucci sighed softly, took a sip of tea, and turned his attention back to Jinbe. As he expected, the story was indeed a tragic one.

Fisher Tiger, one of the heroes of Fishman Island, was born in Fishman Street and was the leader of the chaotic Fishman Street. Jinbe, Arlong, and Hachi were his underlings. Later, he went to sea as an adventurer. His last adventure was when he climbed the Red Line alone, set fire to Mary Geoise, and rescued thousands of slaves of all races.

He thus became a hero of Fishman Island. After returning, he led Jinbe, Arlong, and the fishmen he rescued to create the Sun Pirates. Each crew member was branded with a sun-shaped pattern to cover up their slave marks.

Fisher Tiger believed that the meaning of the Sun Pirates was liberation and freedom, nothing more. He did not want their actions to affect the future of the Fish-Man race, and killing would only breed a greater tragedy of revenge. Therefore, the Sun Pirates had a rule: they would not kill anyone, not even their enemies.

Their power also attracted the attention of the Navy, so an operation against them was launched. Fisher Tiger accepted a request from an island to help a little slave girl who was unable to return home because of the distance.

Upon arriving at the island where the slave girl lived, Fisher Tiger escorted her to the island alone to avoid causing panic among the villagers. A targeted ambush took place on the island, and Fisher Tiger was seriously injured as a result.

Before his death, Fisher Tiger revealed the truth that he had once been a slave. Because of this, having witnessed the cruelty of humanity, he could no longer love humans, nor could he accept human blood flowing in his body. Thus, the hero Fisher Tiger, who refused human blood, came to an end.

Another hero is Queen Otohime, who possesses the special Observation Haki awakened innately. She can hear the inner voices of others and even influence their minds, giving them a stronger sense of empathy.

Luffy seems to have a similar ability, though he's unsure if it's some kind of Observation Haki. Thinking of this, Lucci tapped his teacup a few times, but he was more inclined to believe it was Luffy's personal charm and his extraordinary intuition in that area.

In short, 14 years ago, in order to change the situation of the fish-men and enable them to live on the sea, Queen Otohime began collecting signatures from the people of Fish-Man Island so that she could propose that mermaids and fish-men live on land at the next World Conference. However, due to the fish-men's prejudice against humans, Queen Otohime's collection did not go smoothly.

A turning point came when a Celestial Dragon was stranded on Fishman Island. It was easy to imagine what would happen when a Celestial Dragon was stranded on an island that hated him. However, Queen Otohime shielded the Celestial Dragon from bullets fired by an angry Fishman with her own body and decided to sail with him for a week.

Ultimately, Queen Otohime moved the Celestial Dragons with her abilities and signed a relocation agreement for peaceful coexistence between humans and fish-men (I also agree with the submitted signatures for the sake of friendly exchanges between fish-men and humans). This meant that they had the support of the World Nobles. Queen Otohime's proposal was no longer a naive fantasy for the residents of Fish-Man Island, which rekindled their hope, and they began to sign their names.

But just as the signatures were about to be collected, an assassination occurred, and Queen Otohime was shot and killed. Although Queen Otohime warned the fishmen present before her death, hoping that they would not let hatred and anger take over their hearts because of her.

Despite Jinbe's attempts to stop him, Hody declared on the spot that it was a human who shot and killed Queen Otohime, and that the murderer was a human pirate. This successfully stirred up a new wave of hatred among the fish-men towards humans, and they once again lost hope in humanity.

In fact, he could sense that this was a premeditated assassination. Everything was too coincidental and too targeted. It wasn't just humans who didn't want the fish-men and humans to live in harmony. Lucci looked up at Jinbe, who was still talking, but this was just his own guess.

"Ten years have passed. Led by the three princes, along with the king and princess, they appealed through the screen. Through their efforts, they once again collected a large number of signatures from the people. This is the origin of the island's 16-year struggle against racial discrimination and the formation of the Fishman Pirates..." Jinbe felt deeply sorry for Nami.

"Wow, a giant Den Den Mushi has come to the forest!" Chopper exclaimed in surprise as he looked at the huge, slow-moving snail-shaped Den Den Mushi.

"It's a video den Den Mushi (video phone), it needs to be displayed on the big screen."

"Ah, can all the inhabitants of Fishman Island hear me?"

"That's him!" Nami immediately pointed to the fishman on the screen, "the one who invaded the palace."

"Hody!!" Jinbe exclaimed in shock.

After hearing Hody's provocation and his declaration of usurping the kingdom, Lucci looked at Luffy and asked, "What do we do now? Zoro, Usopp, and Brook have been captured, and King Neptune will be executed in three hours."
