Come to another world and become a lord
Chapter 234 Framed
When Noura received the news, she could hardly believe what the guard said. She grabbed him and shook him, shouting:
"What did you say? Daddy...how is this possible?"
"We saw it with our own eyes. The Great Khan invited the woman into the tent for negotiations. Then we heard the sound of fighting. When we went in, we saw the Great Khan..." The guard was visibly choked up when he said this.
"Daddy, he..." After listening to the guard's story, Noura felt dizzy and almost fell down. Why did this happen? Alia killed Daddy? But why? No, it couldn't be like this. She had to find her and ask her about it. Thinking of this, she asked again:
"Where's Alia? Where is she now?"
"She ran away. She was too powerful. None of us could stop her." The guard stammered.
Ran away? She shouldn't have run away, unless she really did it, but how could that be possible? Thinking of this, Noura punched her thigh.
But the guard added, "This happened too suddenly. Captain Hassan has temporarily blocked the news and sent me to find you, the princess..."
"Hasen..." Hearing the guard's words, she suddenly frowned. No, now that Alia was on the run, this matter must implicate Carl. Thinking of this, she had a bad feeling in her heart. Without any hesitation, she immediately jumped on the horse, and even had no time to gather people. She just shouted to the few guards around her:
"All of you, follow me to the camp immediately!"
Seeing her unusual expression, the guards did not dare to neglect her and quickly gathered together, following Nura all the way. The wind and sand were blowing in her face, and she held the reins tightly, her heart churning.
When she arrived at the camp, she found that the entrance to the camp was in chaos. Sogar and Talbat had already led a team of men to gather at the entrance of the Khan's camp, and were now confronting the defenders. Daddy's personal guard captain Hassan was the first to stand in front of them, preventing them from entering the camp. Looking at this scene, she seemed to understand something, and she pulled the reins of her horse, staring coldly at the chaotic scene in front of her, her eyes as cold as ice.
"Get out of the way!" Sogar shouted angrily, "We need to go in and capture the murderer Carl! If we don't take action now, are we going to let him escape?"
Tarbat fanned the flames: "Hasen, you are the Great Khan's personal guard, why are you shielding the criminals now? If you don't get out of the way, don't blame us for being rude!"
But the guard captain Hassan looked cold and replied calmly:
"It's been less than half a day since the Great Khan was assassinated, and you've already brought your team here. How did you know about this?"
"We..." Sogar seemed to be choked for a moment, but then he said, "Don't worry about it. The key point now is that the murderer must be brought to justice! We must avenge the Great Khan!"
"That's right!" Talbat echoed, "Anyone who protects the murderer now is a traitor to the tribe!"
Then he drew his scimitar:
"And my sword, Talbat, will never show mercy to traitors!"
Just as he raised his scimitar, he heard Nura shouting:
"That's enough, stop it!"
Everyone turned to look at her and saw Princess Snow riding her horse forward with a heroic look on her face. Sogar and Talbat's faces changed slightly, but they still managed to remain calm.
“Your Highness,” Sogar cupped his hands, his tone a little disdainful, “The situation is urgent. We must deal with Carl immediately to prevent him from escaping.”
Noura glanced at the two of them, then said in a cold voice: "Captain Hassan is right. My father just died, he blocked the news and notified me to come here immediately. How did you two know about it?"
Talbat's face was gloomy: "Your Highness, I've already said that this is not the point now."
"Answer me!" Nura pressed him word by word.
"Hasen deliberately shielded the criminal, and some guards couldn't stand it, so they came to us to report it~" Sogar answered unconfidently.
"Huh~ Who is it? Point it out." Noura continued to ask rudely.
Sogar's face turned ugly, and then he continued:
"Your Highness, is this necessary? You leave the real criminal alone and come to question us?"
"Of course it's necessary!" He just finished speaking when he heard Noura raise her voice, "You came right after the incident. I have every reason to suspect that you are the one who did this!"
"Your Highness, how can you say that? We are loyal to the Great Khan!" Tarbat quickly replied after hearing this.
"Then prove it to me!" Nura said again, her voice cold and firm: "Now that my father has been killed, as the princess of the tribe, I have the right to take over the command of the camp. Before finding out the truth, no one is allowed to act without authorization! Including you two!"
"Your Highness, this is inappropriate! We just want to avenge the Great Khan~" Talbat shouted.
"Revenge? Or are you feeling guilty?" said Nura.
"This..." Talbat's face turned red. He wanted to say something, but couldn't utter a word for a long time. On the other side, Sogar's face was even more livid.
"I will investigate this matter myself. No matter who did it, I will kill him with my own hands and avenge my father. Do you understand?" Nura's majesty stunned everyone present.
"I understand..." The two nodded reluctantly.
"Why don't you step back!" Princess Snow shouted sternly.
Sogar and Talbat looked at each other, and finally gave in. They turned their horses around at the same time and evacuated with their team.
Seeing this, Noura sighed slightly, then turned and looked at Hassan. The captain of the guards came up with a complicated expression, looking guilty: "Princess, it's my fault, I failed in my duty..."
"Uncle Hassan, this is not your fault..." Noura interrupted him, her voice low but firm.
"What should we do next?" asked Hassan.
Noura thought for a moment, then said:
"Let Karl go first, and then we can make a long-term plan."
Hassan's face changed, and his tone was full of embarrassment:
"But Your Highness, this... Many people in the camp believe that it was Karl's men who assassinated the Great Khan. If we release him now..."
"Do you believe it?" Noura stared at Hassan, her voice calm but powerful, "Do you really believe that it was Karl's men who did it?"
Hassan avoided her gaze and remained silent for a moment. He struggled in his heart. The princess in front of him reminded him of the young Akitila. Her decisiveness and clarity made him sigh:
"Okay, Princess, I'll listen to you."
When Sogar and Talbat returned to their tent, they saw Kasabelos sitting there waiting for him. The mage was hunched over, tapping his staff on the ground, his black robe swaying slightly in the wind. Although his face could not be seen, the two could still feel the cold eyes under the dark hood staring at them.
Casabelos spoke slowly, his voice low and dangerous: "I thought you would rush into the camp and kill Carl in one go."
"That's what I was planning to do, but Princess Snow came..." Thorgar replied.
"So you retreated?" Casabelos asked coldly.
"So what do we do?" Talbat replied.
"Useless thing! You still want to accomplish anything with this much guts?" A scolding came, the tone full of disdain and ridicule.
"If I can just kill him, why would I need you two pieces of shit?"
"Why don't you kill him? Your magic is so powerful, just use magic to kill him!" Talbat shouted angrily.
"If I kill him, then what's the point of everything!" Casabelos raised his voice. "I set up this trap and made him the murderer of the Great Khan. Then you two killed the murderer and avenged the Great Khan, thus winning the support of the entire tribe... You two can't even accomplish such a simple thing~"
"What's the point of saying this now?" Sogar shouted, "Even if he's not dead, it's not a big deal. We still have a chance. Most people will think that it was Karl who assassinated the Great Khan. Now as long as we convince Alma and Bakhtar to stand on our side, even the Snow Princess Noura can't stop us."
After listening to this, Casabelos was silent for a while, and then he sighed slowly:
"That's all I can do. Don't let me down again this time."
