Warlords: Rising from the Northwest Border and Sweeping Across the Powers
Chapter 1204 Enemy Reconnaissance Aircraft
Khabarovsk, the base of the 47th Flying Wing of the Tsarist Russia.
"Scouting team, prepare for takeoff!" The commander's order echoed in the hangar.
The pilots of the reconnaissance team quickly boarded their reconnaissance planes, checked their equipment, and fastened their seat belts. The hangar door slowly opened, and the cold wind mixed with snowflakes blew in their faces.
"Target area: outside the town of Nev," the navigator confirmed the mission to the crew through the headset, "We need to obtain the specific movements of the Northern Division, especially the positions of their armored units and electronic warfare teams."
"Understood," the pilots answered in unison.
Following the command from the tower, the reconnaissance planes slid out of the hangar one by one and accelerated along the runway to take off. The propellers drew a blurry arc in the wind and snow, and the fuselage climbed steadily in the air.
"Maintain altitude," the navigator commanded, "fly as close to the clouds as possible to avoid being detected by enemy radar."
The reconnaissance plane flew through the snow, its wings trembling slightly in the air currents. The pilots were concentrating, observing the situation on the ground through the cockpit windows.
&34;Entering target area,&34;Navigator reporting,&34;Beginning recording.&34;
The onboard camera equipment began to operate, recording the deployment of the Northern Division on the ground. The pilots carefully observed the changes on the ground while operating the aircraft to ensure that no important information was missed.
"Be careful," the navigator warned, "the enemy may send fighters to intercept, so stay alert."
High in the sky, a formation of reconnaissance aircraft from the 47th Flying Wing of the Tsarist Russia was returning.
"Attention, the radar shows that there is an approaching UFO," the navigator's voice sounded in the headset, with a hint of tension, "It may be an enemy aircraft, stay alert."
At this moment, in the distant clouds, a formation of several Feiyan jet fighters approached quickly. Their fuselages shone with metallic luster in the sun, and they were moving at a very fast speed.
"Enemy plane!" The captain of the reconnaissance plane immediately realized the danger and said, "Attention everyone, evacuate immediately!"
The reconnaissance aircraft formation quickly adjusted its course, trying to use the cover of clouds and snow to get rid of the enemy's pursuit. However, the Feiyan fighter planes had obviously regarded them as prey and kept biting them tightly.
"Speed up, speed up!" the captain called out to his team members anxiously, "Keep in formation and try to avoid being defeated one by one!"
The Feiyan fighters swiftly shuttled through the air, quickly closing the distance with the reconnaissance plane. Their machine guns began to roar, and bullets streaked through the sky, heading straight for the reconnaissance plane.
"Left wing, be careful to avoid!" the captain shouted, "Don't confront them head-on!"
The reconnaissance planes made emergency evasive maneuvers in the air, trying to get rid of the enemy planes' lock. However, the Feiyan fighters were much faster and more maneuverable than them, leaving them almost no chance to breathe.
"Hold on," the captain gritted his teeth, "we have to bring the information back!"
High in the sky, the Feiyan fighter formation is tightening the encirclement.
"All aircraft, please pay attention," the voice of Chen Feng, the leader of the Feiyan formation, sounded calmly on the radio, "The target is four reconnaissance planes. Don't let them escape back to Boli."
He piloted a Feiyan fighter jet like an elegant hunter, commanding the entire formation with precision.
"Unit 34, Unit 34," Chen Feng ordered, "Encircle them from both wings and cut off their retreat. Unit 34 and I will maintain our altitude advantage."
The Feiyan fighters flexibly adjusted their positions in the air, gradually forming a deadly encirclement. The roar of the jet engines echoed in the clouds, like the roar of a hunter.
"Don't rush to open fire," Chen Feng continued to command, "First compress their space for movement. Let them feel despair."
The reconnaissance planes frantically maneuvered ahead, trying to find a breakthrough, but every time they tried to change direction, they would find that the Feiyan fighters had already blocked that route.
"Very good," Chen Feng said with a sneer, "Let them continue to consume fuel."
The Flying Swallows were like well-trained hunters, slowly and steadily closing the encirclement, knowing that their prey had nowhere to escape.
&34;高度4000米,&34;陈锋观察着仪表,&34;风速12节,完美的击落条件。&34;
In this cat-and-mouse game in the air, the Flying Swallow formation showed an absolute advantage. Not only did they have a faster speed and stronger firepower, but more importantly, they controlled the rhythm of the entire battlefield.
"Let's get ready to end this game," Chen Feng said calmly, "Let's send these uninvited guests off."
"This is the 34th Reconnaissance Squadron, intercepted by enemy aircraft!" The captain of the reconnaissance aircraft, Kuznetsov, shouted on the radio, "Requesting support! Repeat, requesting support!"
But he knew in his heart that it was too late to wait for support. The maneuverability of the Feiyan fighter was far beyond their expectations, and every evasion consumed precious fuel.
"Listen," Kuznetsov said to the formation members, his voice firm, "We must pass the intelligence back. The deployment information of the Northern Division is related to the entire battle situation!"
"Unit 34, Unit 34," he quickly ordered, "Start the emergency radio immediately and send all reconnaissance data to headquarters. Unit 34 will cover them."
"What about you, sir?" the pilot of Unit 34 asked, worry in his voice.
"I will attract the enemy's attention," Kuznetsov gritted his teeth, "to buy you time to transmit."
After saying that, he suddenly pulled up the joystick, drove the reconnaissance plane to make a sharp turn, and rushed directly towards the Feiyan formation.
"Quick! Start transmitting!" he shouted, "For Khabarovsk, for my comrades!"
Units 3 and 4 immediately began emergency data transmission. The radio waves traveled through the wind and snow, carrying the important intelligence they had collected towards the direction of Khabarovsk.
"Even if we all die here," Kuznetsov said in the headset, his voice extremely firm, "this information must be sent back!"
He knew that this might be their last mission, but at this critical moment, every pilot understood his responsibility.
"Let's end this game," Chen Feng ordered calmly, "and proceed as planned."
The Flying Swallows started their final hunt. First came Kuznetsov's reconnaissance plane, who rushed towards the Flying Swallows alone to buy time for his comrades. Chen Feng easily avoided his attack, while the No. 2 aircraft accurately pulled the trigger.
A string of tracer bullets streaked through the sky and hit the left wing of the reconnaissance plane. Kuznetsov's plane shook violently in the air and then fell to the ground with thick smoke.
"Target No. 34 has been shot down," No. 34 reports, "Turn to the next target."
The second reconnaissance plane that was covering the transmission became the next prey. It tried to make a sharp turn to get rid of the pursuit, but in front of the Feiyan fighter, these maneuvers seemed so clumsy. Three bursts of fire accurately hit the engine position, and the second reconnaissance plane began to fall with flames.
"The two planes that are still transmitting," Chen Feng ordered, "don't let them complete the data transmission."
The Flying Swallows were divided into two groups, pouncing on their last prey like hungry wolves. The No. 3 reconnaissance plane had just completed part of the data transmission when the No. 4 Flying Swallow shot sideways and hit the cockpit.
The last reconnaissance plane continued to transmit data in despair, but soon, under Chen Feng's personal aiming, it turned into a falling fireball.
"Mission accomplished," Chen Feng said calmly, "All targets have been eliminated."
The Flying Swallow formation circled high in the sky to make sure that no fish had escaped. On the snowy plain below, the wreckage of the reconnaissance plane was scattered everywhere, and black smoke slowly rose in the wind and snow.
This air battle lasted only a few minutes from start to finish, but for the pilots who sacrificed their lives to pass on intelligence, this was the last movement they wrote with their lives.
"Return home," Chen Feng ordered, "and report the results of the battle to the division headquarters."
The Flying Swallows changed course and disappeared into the snowy sky. All that was left were the burning wreckage on the snowy plain, witnessing this unequal air battle.
