The CEO's Wife and First Love

Chapter 695: Emotional Hurt

The relationship between Qiuyan and Bashan, like the leaves in autumn, quietly undergoes subtle changes. However, Qiuyan seems to be swallowed by this vortex of emotions, deeply immersed in it, unable to extricate herself.

She often recalled every little thing Bashan had done for her, those gentle words, caring eyes, and unintentional little gestures, all of which played continuously in her mind like a movie. Every detail made her feel how special Bashan was to her, and made her unable to let go.

On quiet nights, Qiuyan would lie alone in her bed, reminiscing about the time she spent with Bashan. She remembered their strolls along the park paths, the sunlight casting a warm and gentle light on them; she remembered the laughter and tears they shared together, and those moments became the most precious memories in her heart.

However, as time went on, Qiuyan gradually noticed that Bashan's attitude towards her seemed to have changed slightly. He no longer contacted her as frequently, and their conversations became less and less frequent. These subtle changes left Qiuyan confused and uneasy, but she refused to face reality, clinging to the fond memories of the past.

Bashan had originally intended to let time slowly fade his memories of Qiuyan, but every time he wanted to let go, he always felt a little reluctant. He recalled Qiuyan's mature and steady temperament, as well as her wisdom and decisiveness in various matters, which made him unforgettable.

However, Bashan also knew clearly that there was no going back to the past between them. He was struggling internally, unsure of what to do. Should he continue to cling to this relationship, or let it go completely, allowing both of them to start anew?

At this crossroads, Bashan felt lost and bewildered. He didn't know the consequences of his choice, nor did he know if he could truly let go of Qiuyan. This conflicting feeling left him in agony, as if he were being pulled between two powerful forces, unable to break free.

He was completely helpless and could only choose to use this gradual alienation as a way to test whether he could really let go of Qiuyan. He began to frequently use filming as an excuse to deliberately avoid returning to the rental house they lived in together.

Qiuyan, however, remained oblivious to all this. She continued to wait in her small rental apartment every day, anxiously awaiting Bashan's return. She would prepare a hearty dinner, eager to share it with him; she would meticulously tidy her room, hoping he would feel at home when he returned.

Qiuyan's waiting was so persistent and determined that she firmly believed that Bashan was unable to come home on time just because he was busy with work. What she didn't know was that Bashan was gradually distancing himself from her in this way, trying to erase her from his life.

It was a sunny day, and Qiuyan was in a particularly good mood, because this day was very meaningful to her—she and Bashan had been living together for a whole year! To celebrate this special day, Qiuyan took a day off and did not go to the filming.

In the morning, Qiuyan happily went to the supermarket and bought a lot of food that Bashan liked. She carefully selected a juicy steak, fresh fruit and a bottle of fine red wine.

After returning home, Qiuyan tied on an apron and skillfully cooked steak like a professional chef. She seared the steak until both sides were golden brown and exuded an enticing aroma. Then she carefully prepared a colorful fruit salad.

When everything was ready, Qiuyan looked at the fruits of her labor with satisfaction, her heart filled with anticipation. She even used pink fairy lights to decorate the dining table to create a warm and romantic atmosphere, as if the entire room was filled with the scent of love.

Qiuyan sat at the dining table, staring eagerly at the door, waiting for Bashan's return. As time passed, her anxiety grew. However, no matter how long she waited, Bashan never showed up.

Qiuyan had no choice but to call him, but the disappointing sound of a phone being turned off was heard from the other end. Despite this, Qiuyan did not give up, believing that he might actually be filming a movie. After all, she knew that actors were usually not allowed to answer the phone on set to avoid interruptions.

So, Qiuyan decided to wait patiently there, hoping that he would finish filming as soon as possible and get in touch with her. As time passed, Qiuyan became increasingly anxious, but she remained steadfast and refused to leave.

Gradually, Qiuyan felt a little sleepy, her eyelids became heavier and heavier, and finally she could not resist the invasion of sleepiness, and slowly fell asleep leaning on the table.

In fact, Bashan did not appear at the shooting scene, but gathered in a bar with a group of like-minded friends. They sat together, and the table was filled with various glasses filled with different kinds of fine wine.

Bashan picked up a glass of wine and took a sip, feeling the spicy taste spread down his throat. He felt a little heavy, as he had just left Qiuyan and was filled with reluctance. Although he knew it was a difficult decision, for the sake of their future, he chose to let go.

In this bustling bar, the music blared and people laughed and talked. However, Bashan couldn't join in the fun. He sat quietly in a corner, watching his friends drink to their heart's content, his heart growing more and more sad.

"Bashan, what's wrong with you? Look at your career now, it's at its peak and is getting more and more popular! Logically, you should be smiling from ear to ear, why do you look so sad? Is there a girl who makes you unhappy? If so, why don't you just dump her and find a better one! You look so sad all day long, it really affects your mood!" A friend of Bashan saw that he was in a low mood, so he hurried forward, asked with concern, and tried to enlighten him.

To soothe his pain, Bashan poured himself a steady stream of wine, guzzling it down one glass after another. He hoped the alcohol would numb his nerves, temporarily burying his longing for Qiuyan. However, as the alcohol got more intense, his thoughts grew increasingly confused, with memories of their time together constantly resurfacing in his mind.

When Bashan got drunk and fell asleep in the bar, it was already past three in the morning when he returned to the rental house. When he saw Qiuyan sleeping on the table and the food on the table, he was moved. He felt a pang of sadness in his heart and his eyes immediately turned red. He came to the table, looked at Qiuyan silently, and tears couldn't help but flow out.

Bashan went forward and put a coat on Qiuyan. He sat at the table and looked at Qiuyan silently. Bashan felt mixed emotions in his heart.
