The CEO's Wife and First Love

Chapter 663: Self-destruction

Robert's heart was beating like a drum, his hands tightly gripping the steering wheel as he sped home. When he arrived at the door, his hands were shaking with fear and anxiety, as if they weighed a thousand pounds.

He stared at the door, as if he could see everything behind it. However, when he reached out to knock on the door, he found that his arm was unable to move as if under a spell.

He was in a fierce struggle. On the one hand, he longed to see the person behind the door and get an answer; on the other hand, he was afraid to face the possible truth and fear of being rejected or hurt.

In this conflicting emotion, Robert's hands remained suspended in the air, unable to fall. His eyes wandered, his thoughts were in a mess, as if the whole world had frozen at this moment.

He felt so guilty and remorseful that he didn't have the courage to face Wanjun. He knew he had let his wife down. She had sacrificed so much for their family and their child. Yet, when she needed him most, he betrayed her and did something so unbearable.

He could not forgive his mistakes, his heart was filled with regret and pain. Every sip of wine seemed to punish him, making his throat burn, but he did not care, just wanted to use alcohol to numb himself and forget everything.

He kept drinking, one glass after another, as if this would allow him to escape reality and forget his sins. However, alcohol could not really eliminate the pain in his heart, but made his thinking more confused, and his mind kept emerging with the figure of his wife and their past.

"Give me one too!" He suddenly felt someone standing in front of him. He looked closely and saw that it was the deputy. He jumped up, stretched out his hand, grabbed the deputy's collar, and pulled him in front of him. The deputy was startled by this sudden action and his body trembled involuntarily.

"Why are you here?" His voice was filled with surprise and anger. The deputy's eyes revealed a hint of panic, but he quickly regained his composure.

"I... I just wanted to come see you." The deputy's voice trembled a little.

He stared at the deputy, as if trying to see through her eyes to see her true thoughts. The deputy met his gaze, not flinching.

"What do you want to do? You did it on purpose. You were the one who put the drug there." His tone became more severe.

The deputy took a deep breath and said slowly: "I know you have doubts about me, but I really don't mean anything else. I just care about you. I have liked you for a long time. Please don't drive me away. Let me stay with you, okay? I love you."

His eyes gradually softened, but still full of vigilance. He loosened his deputy's collar and let her stand again.

Robert, like a mad beast, recklessly pushed her to the ground. Her body collided violently with the hard ground, making a crisp sound, as if the whole world had frozen at this moment.

However, Robert turned a blind eye to all this, his eyes fixed only on the wine glass in his hand. He drank one glass after another, as if the wine could drown out the pain and troubles in his heart. Every sip of wine burned his throat like a flame, allowing him to temporarily forget the cruel reality.

As time went on, the effect of alcohol became stronger and stronger, Robert's consciousness gradually blurred, and his body began to shake. Finally, he could no longer support himself and collapsed on the table like a puddle of mud, unconscious.

The deputy watching this scene secretly rejoiced. She quickly stood up, walked over to Robert, and carefully helped him up. Then, she supported Robert and slowly walked out of the bar and towards her car.

The deputy's steps were light but firm, her heart filled with anticipation and excitement. She helped Robert into the car and drove to her residence. All the way, Robert was unconscious, unaware of his surroundings.

When the car pulled up to the deputy's house, she gently nudged Robert, but he still didn't respond. The deputy's lips curled up slightly, revealing a barely perceptible smile. She struggled to pull Robert out of the car and then, step by step, led him into the house.

As soon as they entered the room, the deputy couldn't wait to throw Robert onto the bed. She stared at Robert's drunken, handsome face, and a strange impulse surged in her heart. She quickly took off her clothes, climbed onto the bed, and hugged Robert tightly.

Under the influence of alcohol, Robert's body was unresponsive, but the deputy didn't care. She thoroughly enjoyed the intimacy with Robert's skin, as if time had stopped at this moment.

After the lovemaking, the deputy climbed up from Robert's body with satisfaction. She looked at Robert's sleeping face, and the smile on her lips grew even brighter. Then, she slowly helped Robert change into clean clothes, as if everything was so natural.

Finally, the deputy gently lay down beside Robert, feeling his warmth and breath. She felt no guilt at all, but rather that it was all natural. Before Robert woke up, she closed her eyes and fell into a sweet dream.

But Robert had not returned home for two consecutive nights. When Robert was awakened from his dream by a phone ringing, he looked at his deputy lying next to him, and he understood everything.

There was a hint of helplessness and guilt in his eyes. He knew that his behavior was wrong, but he couldn't control himself. He picked up the phone and saw that it was Wanjun calling. He hesitated for a moment, but finally answered the phone.

"Hello, Wanjun..." Robert's voice was a little low.

"Robert, why haven't you gone home yet?" Wanjun's voice was filled with anxiety.

"I... I'm still working overtime and may be back late." Robert lied to his wife again, his heart full of contradictions and pain.

He knew that this would hurt Wanjun, but he couldn't break his relationship with his deputy. He silently asked himself, is this the right choice? Should he end this immoral behavior and return to Wanjun?

However, when he saw his deputy's sleeping face, his heart softened again. He gently stroked her hair, feeling her warmth. In that moment, he seemed to forget all his worries and responsibilities, wanting only to immerse himself in this brief happiness.

Wanjun was still talking on the other end of the line, but Robert could no longer hear her. He hung up the phone and sat quietly on the edge of the bed, thinking about his future. He knew he had to make a decision, a decision that would bring happiness to himself and those around him.
