Chapter 149: Gathering at Shaohua Mountain (2)

Lin Chong had no choice but to skim the surface of the water on his horse, and then he jumped a few times between the many war horses like a kite, and landed steadily on the open space in the middle. He performed the spear skills passed down from his ancestors of the Lin family, and with the last swing, he hit the tip of the spear on the rock next to him. The huge rock was instantly smashed to pieces. He was extremely powerful and fierce.

As the saying goes, "An expert can tell whether there is something or not with just one stretch of his hand." Almost at the moment when Lin Chong made his move, Zhu Wu's eyes suddenly lit up. He was worried that Chen Da and Yang Chun had low martial arts skills, and there was no one with high martial arts skills on Shaohua Mountain. It was obvious that he was dozing off and suddenly a pillow fell on him.

So Zhu Wu and the other three immediately dismounted and invited Lin Chong and others to go to the Juyi Hall on Shaohua Mountain to drink. Lin Chong then took a dozen old soldiers and hundreds of horses to Shaohua Mountain.

The Shaohua Mountain is in the shape of a "dustpan", with its mouth facing north. The main peak is inside the "dustpan", and the remaining peaks are connected to form the edge of the "dustpan".

The outer side of the edge is almost entirely cliffs, and there is only a narrow path leading down the mountain on the inner side.

Not far into the mountain, there is a towering and long stone wall, which is connected to the east and west cliffs at both ends. There is only one door in the middle for pedestrians to pass, forming a situation of "one man guarding the pass, ten thousand men cannot open it". According to legend, it was built by the ancient green forest hero Wang Bodang when he gathered in Shaohua Mountain at the end of the Sui Dynasty.

After passing through the door in the stone wall, Lin Chong saw the mountain covered with dense thorns. He followed Zhu Wu and others through the bushes and went straight to the main peak of Shaohua Mountain, the Middle Peak.

Zhongfeng is the top of Shaohua Mountain. On it stands a huge temple-like building. Under the eaves, three large characters "Juyi Hall" are clearly visible.

Zhu Wu waved his hand to signal Lin Chong and the others to take their seats, saying, "Brother, please take a seat. I have already prepared some wine and food. Just wait."

Lin Chong bowed and said, "It's still early, and the food and wine will not be ready until later. Why don't you take us to see the beautiful scenery of Shaohua Mountain first!"

Zhu Wu said, "Okay, brother, get familiar with Shaohua Mountain first, and we can have a banquet later." So the three of them led Lin Chong and others to continue enjoying the scenery of Shaohua Mountain.

The west peak of Shaohua Mountain is also called Wulong Mountain and Maling Mountain. It is slightly lower than the middle peak. There is a stone cave on the peak, which is artificially dug and is seven or eight meters long. It is dark inside and it is as dark as the wind. According to legend, Wang Bodang once shot and killed three tigers here, so it was named Tiger Cave. It is now used as a material warehouse for the mountain village.

The East Peak, Middle Peak and West Peak of Shaohua Mountain are closely connected. It is more than 2,000 meters long and only a dozen meters wide at its widest point.

To the south is a bottomless cliff, and to the north is a steep slope that is difficult to climb. The mountain is extremely steep.

The peak is covered with bushes, towering pines and cypresses, surrounded by white clouds and strange rocks. Standing on the top of the mountain and looking around, you can see the Wei River in the north, winding eastward like a belt, and Mount Taihua in the east, towering in the clouds, majestic and tall, and in the south, you can see thousands of mountains undulating, reaching the sky and the earth, and in the west, you can see the wind and smoke for thousands of miles, with no end in sight.

From the Middle Peak, walk north along the East Mountain Ridge, as if walking on the back of a fish, and you will reach the North Peak of Shaohua Mountain.

There is a stone flat land with a radius of several tens of meters, known as Wang Bodang's Horse Racing Hill. Next to it is a circular stone trough that collects rainwater, known as the Horse Drinking Pool. A huge stone stands on the stone flat land, blocking the passage. On the west side there is only a stone hole that can accommodate one person.

Zhongfeng is the main peak of Shaohua Mountain, also known as Duxiu Peak or Yunu Peak, which is what people call Shaohua Mountain.

Dongfeng, also known as Futou Peak, is located in the south of Zhangqiao Village, Liuzhi Town.

Among the four peaks, the Middle Peak is the most precipitous and has the most spectacular scenery. Therefore, after the Ming and Qing Dynasties, when people referred to Shaohua Mountain, they specifically referred to the Middle Peak.

Afterwards, everyone returned to the Juyi Hall for a banquet. During the banquet, Zhu Wu, Chen Da, and Yang Chun knelt on one knee, raised their hands and clasped their fists, and said in unison: "Brother, you are a great martial artist. The three of us are willing to accept Brother Lin Chong as the leader of the stronghold."
