Chapter 129 Subduing the Secret Agent (2)

The spies at a table near the window also heard the conversation between Zhou Bingkun and Director Zhang of the cafeteria. They also wanted to get some wild game to satisfy their hunger, so one of them waved at Zhou Bingkun, and Zhou Bingkun hurried over.

Then, the youngest among them said, "Little boy, do you still have that beggar's chicken? Give us one to go with our wine! We'll give you double the price!"

Zhou Bingkun pretended to take out another beggar's chicken from his schoolbag and sold it to them at the price they agreed. Several people immediately impatiently "cut the beggar's chicken into pieces" and their mouths were full of oil as they ate.

While collecting the money, Zhou Bingkun used powerful hypnosis on them. After a while, all four of them collapsed on the table one after another, as if they were drunk.

Zhou Bingkun walked to the bar and called Director Zhang from the cafeteria, saying that he wanted to borrow some time to call the village in the mountains and ask them to send the other prey over. Director Zhang took out the phone from the locked drawer and saw those staggering people. He thought they were drunk and didn't bother to care about them. He went straight to the kitchen to get busy.

The emergency number in 1960 was not the 110 number that we are familiar with today, but the "00" number inherited from the Kuomintang rule.

The first generation of "110" emergency number in New China was established in Guangzhou. At that time, the emergency number consisted of only six staff officers from the Operations Section of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Corps Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It was not until the 80s that the "00" number was changed to "110" as the emergency number.

Zhou Bingkun dialed the "00" emergency number. As soon as the call was connected, a soft female voice came from the receiver: "This is the Changchun Public Security Bureau. Do you need to call the police?"

Zhou Bingkun said, "Yes, this is the Second Canteen of Changchun City. We have confirmed that there are spies armed with guns and knives who want to rob the ICBC armored car across the street. They are now in the Second Canteen and are unconscious. Please send the police as soon as possible!"

The operator confirmed the information and told Zhou Bingkun not to act on his own and to wait for the police.

Zhou Bingkun was worried that the four spies might suddenly wake up and cause serious consequences, so he hypnotized them every once in a while to ensure that they were deeply hypnotized.

Ten minutes later, more than a dozen police officers from the nearby Guangzi Pian Police Station arrived at the scene, arrested the four spies who were sleeping in a mess, and searched their bodies and belongings for guns, ammunition, daggers, and spy equipment. A few minutes later, police from the Changchun Public Security Bureau also arrived at the scene.

Since it was a case involving espionage, the relevant departments of Changchun City reported the case to the Central Investigation Department, the agency responsible for counter-espionage (the predecessor of the Ministry of State Security, which was reorganized into the Ministry of State Security in 1983).

After rigorous interrogation and secret investigation, the captured robber was named Sun Yifeng, male, 46 years old, 1.72 meters tall, from Changchun City, formerly known as Sun Dongsheng, an "old Northeasterner". In 1938, he joined the seventh special training class of the Kuomintang Central Military Academy. After the liberation and founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, he was sent to the Northeast to engage in underground activities serving the Kuomintang. He served as the special envoy of the Northeast Advancing Army and deputy director of the Northeast Party, Government and Military Education Work Station.

The other three spies were all Sun Yifeng's subordinates. They were named Yang Guochao, Wang Daomeng and Li Hua. They were all from Changchun. After liberation, they remained lurking in Changchun for a long time. Due to a long-term lack of funds and dissatisfaction with the status quo, the four of them decided to do something big to improve their living conditions. However, they fell asleep inexplicably before they started to implement the plan, and therefore the sentences they were sentenced to were relatively short.

Because of his meritorious service in reporting the spies and avoiding unnecessary loss of life and property, Zhou Bingkun was commended by the Changchun Municipal Public Security Bureau and rewarded with a total of 200 kilograms of various grains.
