Blending of Planes: I am leisurely farming

Chapter 200: Drinking on a Moonlit Night

Late at night, the moonlight is like frost and snow, falling on the earth.

It was cold and quiet, with only the occasional feeble chirping of insects from the grass by the river, further highlighting the darkness of the night.

Under the hazy moonlight, Sean walked forward with difficulty and in a tortuous way along the river bank. It took him a lot of effort to push aside a thicket of reeds that was so lush that it was almost airtight, revealing a different world.

This is a secret space, surrounded on three sides by trees with branches and leaves intertwined with each other, like a natural and solid barrier.

The only side that was not enclosed faced the gurgling stream, which made a subtle and crisp sound.

A thick layer of dry straw mixed with fine fallen leaves was spread evenly on the ground, obviously the result of someone's long-term and careful care.

Needless to say, Sebastian was sitting on the ground, supporting his knee with one hand, staring at the flowing stream with empty and dull eyes.

Sam told Sean about this place. As Sebastian's best friend, no one in the entire Pelican Town knows Sebastian better than Sam.

This time when he ran away from home, Sebastian temporarily put his luggage in Sam's room.

Sasha's subtle voice came, and Sebastian, who was sitting, noticed it. He turned around and glanced. Seeing that it was Sean, he curled his lips in annoyance and said in a muffled voice: "What are you doing here?"

Sean didn't say anything and found a clean place near him to sit down, and the two of them fell into silence.

At this moment, the atmosphere was solemn, and the moonlight cast silvery shadows on the water. As the stream flowed, the light and shadows broke and distorted.

"Would you like a drink?" After a long time, Sean broke the silence. Regardless of whether Sebastian was willing or not, he took out a can of beer from the plastic bag and threw it directly at Sebastian.

I don't know whether it was Sebastian who took the initiative to take it, or Sean threw it too accurately, but the beer fell steadily into Sebastian's hand.

Sean opened a can first, tilted his head back and took a big gulp, his Adam's apple gurgling up and down, and he finished the whole can in great pleasure.

Sebastian, who was standing next to him, raised his head and took a sip. Then he held the wine in his hand, turned his head and looked at the river in silence.

Invite the moon to drink, the bright moon in the sky and the flickering moon shadow in the riverbed reflect each other.

Sean picked up the empty can, pretended to put the moonlight into the can, and then poured it out. The "moon wine" flowing down made the river surface sway even more sparkling.

Sean slowly said, "I heard that you were going to the city. I'm afraid there will be one less person to drink with on a moonlit night. What a pity, what a pity~"

He sighed, then opened a can of beer and slowly poured it into the gurgling water, saying softly: "I hope this flowing water can carry my blessings. No matter where you go, we can drink the moonlight together."

Sean knew very well that once a dull person like Sebastian made a decision, it must have been after careful consideration. It was almost impossible to persuade him to change his mind. So from the beginning, he had no intention of forcing Sebastian to stay.

Instead, he chose a roundabout strategy, moving people with emotion first.

Sure enough, Sebastian reacted. He turned around, raised the beer can at Sean, shouted, "Cheers!" and then drank it all in one gulp.

Sean threw two more cans over and said, "Come on, cherish this last chance to get together. I won't come to see you off when you leave." There was a hint of melancholy in his tone.

The two of them drank one sip after another without saying a word.

"Life, I never thought that I would come to the countryside while you would go to the city. It's unpredictable." Sean sighed to himself.

"Come and drink! You won't have such a leisurely and relaxed life in the future. Those annoying bosses, unfinished KPIs, and countless people who are either deliberately making things difficult for you or are just stupid are waiting for you."

Sean urged Sebastian to drink again. He knew very well that Sebastian didn't like city life at all, but he had to choose this path just to stay away from his hated stepfather.

He is essentially a person who extremely dislikes constraints, is independent, somewhat selfish, and is always immersed in his own world.

This is also the main starting point of his conversation.

Sebastian frowned when he heard that, and thinking of those troubles, he took another big gulp of wine.

"I say, what if, what if. There is a programming job in Pelican Town with good salary, no KPI assessment requirements, no interference from others, and flexible working hours and location. It only requires you to use your talents to solve problems. If this job is in front of you, what would you choose?" Sean asked.

"There are no ifs in this world." Sebastian replied coldly, with a hint of helplessness in his eyes.

From his answer, Sean already knew the answer, and he continued to talk based on the hypothesis.

"With this good salary, you can move out. There are so many abandoned places in Pelican Town. Just find a place with few people and beautiful environment to build a house. It's also a good life to hang out on rainy days and listen to friends' complaints."

Sean tried to avoid topics like "Robin is very sad and she is worried about you." He thought Sebastian didn't tell Robin about his decision in advance because he didn't want family affection to affect his judgment.

"There is no such thing as perfect two things in the world. Since I have made my choice, I have to bear the consequences of my choice." Sebastian sighed.

"I'm leaving tomorrow. I didn't expect that you'd be the one to accompany me on my last night overlooking this river. Come! Drink!"

"Come on! Drink!" Sean drank a can with him.

"I want to talk to you about the development of my farm since I came to Pelican Town from the city. I hope you will have a good start and a good process in the city." Sean turned the topic to himself.

As Sean drank can of beer, he naturally extended his thoughts to the development of the farm and moved on to a job that was in short supply on the farm: a programmer.

"What a pity. I don't think there is anyone more suitable than you for the position I envision." Sean said with regret.

"Sebastian, I hope you can consider this. I sincerely hope you stay as a friend, and I also hope you can come to help me out of my desire for talent. I will not have any rigid requirements on you, everything is up to your heart."

Sebastian's heart wavered. He took another sip with a flickering look in his eyes, but said nothing.

In order to strike while the iron is hot, Sean had to introduce his plan to him in detail, from the writing and debugging of the automated production program of fertilizer to the subsequent series of product production lines.

He talked endlessly about the follow-up improvements to Pelican Town’s Internet access and the network logistics support for live streaming, but Sean had already painted all the pies he could in the team’s app development.

In order to increase credibility, Sean also showed the income from fertilizer and video accounts, indicating that he was indeed building something.

"Sebastian, this requires a great programmer like you to be in charge," Sean invited solemnly.

Having said this, Sean slowly stood up and left, giving him enough time to think.
