Chapter 110: Special 1st Treasure Hunt
Speaking of which, this year's treasure hunt festival and treasure hunt activities have undergone major changes in rules compared to previous years. They have become more complicated, more random, and more challenging for the players' luck and wisdom.
The number of participants has not only changed from single-person competition to two-person team participation.
At the same time, the rules have changed from simply determining the champion based on the number of Easter eggs found to a point accumulation system similar to the blind box mechanism.
During the festival, the organizer will place 1001 Easter eggs in the treasure hunt site. Each egg contains a scaled-down replica of an unearthed cultural relic that was previously unearthed in the Stardew Valley area. A total of 10 classic styles of cultural relics have been selected for this event.
Cultural relics are divided into three levels: common, rare, and supreme.
Among them, there are 6 common cultural relics, 3 rare cultural relics and 1 supreme cultural relic.
The points assigned to each level of cultural relics are also different. The ordinary version has 1 point, with a total of 900 Easter eggs; the rare version has 3 points, with 100 Easter eggs; the supreme version has 10 points, and there is only one.
There are two ways to win the championship.
The first one: the easiest and the most difficult, directly collect all 10 types of artifacts and be announced as the champion on the spot;
The second type: If no team has collected all 10 styles at the end of the event, points will be calculated and the team with the highest points will win the championship.
This treasure hunt is fully sponsored by Gast, including the prizes and the cost of 1001 Easter egg blind boxes. (This is Mr. Gast's way of expressing his gratitude to the people of Pelican Town for saving Geller despite their own dangers)
Champion Reward: 5.000G
Second place reward: 2.000G
Third place reward: 1.000G
Supplementary Note 1: The shell of each Easter egg is unique, and it is impossible to determine the type of artifact inside by observing the shell.
Supplementary Note 2: Before the Easter eggs are cracked open to confirm the type of artifacts inside, one-to-one transactions are allowed. Other than that, any change in the ownership of the Easter eggs is strictly prohibited. Once discovered, the participant will be disqualified immediately. (This includes throwing the Easter eggs on the ground and having them picked up by others.)
Supplementary Note 3: Intelligence information exchange is allowed, whether true or false.
Supplementary Note 4: After the event, the ownership of the found Easter eggs will belong to the participants to commemorate the event.
Supplementary Note 5: All rights of interpretation of this event belong to the event organizer.
The location of this treasure hunt was chosen in a large wilderness east of the Pelican Town Museum, where a huge underground tomb complex is buried. The 1001 Easter eggs of this event are hidden in these abandoned tombs.
This group of tombs, which is who knows how old it is, has been excavated by successive rebels, visited by tomb robbers, destroyed by wars a hundred years ago, affected by geological disasters, and excavated by official organizations in the past few decades.
By now, the entire tomb has been explored from top to bottom several times, and it can be said to be one-way transparent to the official. Nothing valuable can be found in the tomb except loess.
After this rough exploration like plowing the land, the entire tomb has been completely razed to the ground except for the somewhat gloomy environment and dangerous places.
Unless Gunther is crazy, he wouldn't choose this place as the venue for the event.
Originally, the Stardew Valley Museum was established to develop this group of tombs. Since the output of the entire tomb complex has become less and less, the official archaeologists have gradually abandoned this place.
The museum in Pelican Town became even less valued until the previous owner could not withstand the increasingly stringent assessment requirements of his superiors, took away all the museum's collections and fled for fear of being punished.
Up to now, the only official staff member in the entire museum is Gunther, the curator, and Penny is just a temporary worker hired by Gunther.
If no new growth point can be found, it is only a matter of time before the entire museum is closed down.
This treasure hunt can be said to be Gunther's desperate attempt. The stone carvings and murals that Sean brought out from the alien space were carefully placed by Gunther in a secret space deep in the tomb group.
That place was discovered by Gunther accidentally during an archaeological excavation. The entire space was square, with some weathered bone powder mixed in the shallow soil. Apart from that, there was nothing else, and no signs of anyone having visited or destroyed it.
Absolute privacy and security.
This time, Gunther embedded the stone slabs into the surrounding mud layer. To prevent accidents, he only took out half of the stone slabs.
On the other hand, he and Mayor Lewis are preparing to hold a treasure appraisal conference during the Treasure Hunt Festival.
For this purpose, they invited some treasure appraisers. Of course, based on their connections, these people are not big names, but they are also well-known in the local area. However, after Geist joined the sponsorship, a well-known person was invited.
She is a well-known rising star in the archaeological world, a beloved disciple of the leading figure Mr. Merlin, and a renowned scholar studying ancient civilizations - Ms. Petra.
She is only 26 years old, but last year she caused a strong response in the academic community because of a paper titled "Evidence of the Existence of Ancient Civilization."
In the paper, she described a dwarf civilization that had lived underground for generations. This civilization was highly developed, even surpassing existing human civilization in some aspects.
However, this underground civilization seemed to have suddenly encountered a great terror for some unknown reason ten thousand years ago. The entire civilization seemed to have been wiped out, and there was almost no sign of their activities in the entire world.
This viewpoint was strongly refuted by the mainstream view in the academic community. As the voices of condemnation grew louder and louder, her leading mentor Merlin spoke out and Petra was saved from too much criticism.
However, in exchange, research on dwarven civilization can only be carried out secretly, and related research can no longer receive official funding support.
This time she came to Pelican Town because, firstly, she was invited by Gast, and secondly, she heard from other places that there were traces of dwarven activities deep in the Stardew Valley Mountains, so she wanted to come and investigate.
By the way, I'll also attend the treasure appraisal meeting.
Yes, Lewis and Gunther invited these people on the pretext of treasure appraisal. After all, the tombs in Pelican Town and the place where the war took place a hundred years ago are still well-known in the archaeological community.
During the entire treasure hunt festival, some people participated in the treasure hunt, while other residents brought bottles and jars from their homes to be identified.
As to whether these experts who were invited here had the mentality of picking up bargains, it is unknown.
The task that Lewis gave to Sean was to find these hidden stone slabs, and then with the help of Gunther, a professional, work with this group of professionals to confirm the identity of these cultural relics unearthed here.
Leave these slate artifacts in Pelican Town.
