Emotionally stable, but continuing to go crazy

Chapter 26 It’s not like, it’s your brother.

Li Jinhe drove to the downstairs of Cashew, but did not see Wei Zhe'an. He looked around, found a suitable parking space, and then called him, but only got a cold response from the other party that the phone was turned off.

In desperation, he had to pull out the car keys and decided to walk around the area looking for Wei Zhe'an.

After some patient searching, he finally saw Wei Zhe'an. He was squatting under the parasol of the convenience store, holding the white chinchilla cat named Seventeen tightly in his arms.

Wei Zhe'an's eyes were fixed on the tempting ice cream machine at the entrance of the convenience store. Although he didn't say anything, Li Jinhe heard Wei Zhe'an's thoughts clearly.

Wei Zhe'an said in an almost pleading tone: "Just give me some advance. It's so hot, don't you want to have something cold?"

Seventeen was a little annoyed by his pestering, and gently patted his hand with her claws: "You haven't completed your mission. In my opinion, you are in a locked state. I really can't advance it."

Wei Zhe'an stroked Seventeen's back hair perfunctorily to comfort him, but his eyes were always fixed on the ice cream machine, deeply attracted by it: "I don't care, you think of a way, I want to eat it."

Seventeen rolled her eyes in his arms: "I am a cat that only you can see. What can I do? Even if I can act cute, the clerk won't give me ice cream. Otherwise, you go."

Wei Zhe'an showed an aggrieved expression: "I also have the burden of being an idol. How can I take advantage of other people's ice cream for free? It's so hot, I want to eat it..."

Li Jinhe looked at this scene and thought he was cute, but he felt an inexplicable sourness in his heart. He walked straight to the convenience store and politely stopped the clerk.

"Hey, there's a handsome guy passing by. His back looks like Brother He." Wei Zhe'an gently pinched Seventeen's chin and turned his gaze towards the entrance of the convenience store.

Seventeen shook her head and broke free from his fingers: "It's not like, it's your brother."

At this moment, Li Jinhe turned around and called him with a gentle smile: "Come over here, what flavor do you want to eat?"

Wei Zhe'an didn't know how to describe his feelings at the moment. His heart seemed to be soaked in sour plum soup, with a sour and soft feeling with a hint of sweetness.

He stood up and trotted over to Li Jinhe, smiling as brightly as a blooming sunflower: "I want to eat vanilla flavor."

Li Jinhe looked at Seventeen in his arms and thought that since no one could see the cat, it probably couldn't eat snacks. So he said to the clerk, "One vanilla ice cream, thank you."

The two returned to the car with ice cream. Li Jinhe fastened his seat belt and asked with concern: "Why is your phone turned off?"

Wei Zhe'an put the spoon in his mouth and answered vaguely: "Huh? Is it turned off?" He took out his phone and pressed a few times, but found no response. "It's out of battery. What a close call."

Fortunately, the phone was not turned off when he was recording. He breathed a sigh of relief and put the phone back in his pocket.

"Remember to charge your phone before you go out next time. Luckily you didn't wander around, otherwise what would I do if I couldn't find you?" Li Jinhe said as he turned on the music radio.

"I know. I'll pay attention next time." Wei Zhe'an agreed obediently, with a happy smile on his face. "Then what are we going to eat?"

"What do you want to eat?" Li Jinhe easily turned the steering wheel with one hand and started reversing.

Wei Zhe'an made no secret of his desire: "Fried chicken, hamburgers, spicy hot pot, or at least spicy hot pot." He added honestly: "We eat less oil and salt every day at the base, and I'm almost anorexic. I need some high-oil and high-salt food to feel the beauty of the world again."

Li Jinhe laughed at his confession: "Aren't you afraid of losing your figure if you are so indulgent?"

Wei Zhe'an thought to himself, I can't eat boiled vegetables every day. As long as my data remains stable, I won't get fat.

"Brother, please have pity on me." He blinked his watery eyes and acted cute on purpose.

Seventeen sneered at his behavior: "Didn't you say you have an idol burden? Then what are you doing now?"

Wei Zhe'an confidently retorted: "Why would I ask my brother for any idol baggage? My brother won't laugh at me."

Li Jinhe couldn't help but chuckled: "Then let's go eat hot pot? I know a good restaurant. Although it's a little far, it's definitely worth a try."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work, brother." Wei Zhe'an's eyes stayed on the profile of Li Jinhe in the driver's seat. Li Jinhe skillfully controlled the steering wheel with one hand, and his fingers tapped unconsciously to the rhythm of the music flowing in the car. His eyes swept out of the car window from time to time, concentrating on observing the road conditions.

Wei Zhe'an was deeply attracted by Li Jinhe's serious look. He held the ice cream spoon in his mouth with a dazed expression.

Li Jinhe felt Wei Zhe'an's gaze, and a smile appeared on his lips. He laughed softly again, and the vibration of his chest conveyed his joyful emotion: "What are you looking at? You were so engrossed in it that you even forgot to move the spoon."

Wei Zhe'an came back to his senses and continued to taste the ice cream. He smiled and praised: "Brother, you are so handsome, why haven't you thought about making a debut? This is definitely a big loss for the entertainment industry."

Li Jinhe chuckled and said jokingly, "Maybe it's because I have nothing but my looks."

Wei Zhe'an refuted seriously, and he said proudly: "If you participate in the talent show, I guarantee that you can get first place in all aspects. But then again, brother, your vision and ability are first-class. You can organize such a large program and manage the team. It is a pity if such a great talent only sings and dances when he debuts."

Li Jinhe glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, and said with a hint of joking, "I wanted to ask you before, is your filter for me a little thick? Why do you trust me so easily?"

Wei Zhe'an's movements suddenly stopped and he fell into deep thought.

He did have endless trust in Li Jinhe, but what was the source of this trust?

Is it because Li Jinhe is the only familiar face in this strange world? Is it because he always shows him great tenderness and care at critical moments? Or is it because, to some extent, Li Jinhe has become the only link between him and the previous world, the only proof that he once lived?

Although Li Jinhe himself knew nothing about this, deep in Wei Zhe'an's heart, he did regard Li Jinhe as his connection with the past world. This unconscious closeness and trust made him subconsciously believe that Li Jinhe would always stand by his side, no matter the wind and rain, no matter the ups and downs.

Now when he thinks back on it carefully, Wei Zhe'an realizes that this trust may not be entirely correct. After all, in this world full of unknowns and variables, who can guarantee to stand by someone consistently?

He understood that true trust should be built on a more solid and rational foundation, not just based on past memories or emotional dependence.
