Dressed as a little fool: marry and have children
Chapter 195 Postpartum Depression
He Yuzhu followed closely behind Liu Xiuxiu, and the two came to the hospital together. After registering, He Yuzhu turned to Liu Xiuxiu and said softly: "Xiuxiu, wait here for a moment, I will go and ask how long it will take for our turn."
After that, He Yuzhu stood up, tidied his clothes, and then walked towards the doctor's office with steady steps. He walked to the door, knocked gently, and waited for a response.
"Come in." Doctor Jiang's voice came from inside. He Yuzhu pushed open the door and walked in. He saw Doctor Jiang, who had seen him before, concentrating on diagnosing the patient.
He Yuzhu waited for a while until the patient in front of Dr. Jiang left, then he said, "Dr. Jiang, I have something to tell you."
Doctor Jiang raised his head and looked at He Yuzhu, motioning him to speak first. He Yuzhu took a deep breath and began to describe in detail Liu Xiuxiu's abnormal behavior in recent days:
"Doctor Jiang, I feel like my wife has become a little abnormal since she gave birth. She gets angry easily, has mood swings, and sometimes cries for no reason."
He was observing Dr. Jiang's reaction as he spoke, fearing that he might miss any important details. Dr. Jiang frowned slightly, as if thinking about the possible causes of these symptoms. He asked He Yuzhu some more specific questions, such as Liu Xiuxiu's diet, sleep, and daily activities.
He Yuzhu answered them one by one, trying to provide accurate information. He knew that only by describing the condition in detail to the doctor could he get a better diagnosis and treatment advice.
After listening to He Yuzhu's detailed description, Dr. Jiang frowned and his expression became serious. He thought to himself that Liu Xiuxiu's symptoms were very similar to those of a patient he had met before.
The patient's personality also changed after giving birth, but her family did not give her enough understanding and support, and she eventually passed away. However, no obvious symptoms were found when the patient was examined before, which made Dr. Jiang hesitate to make a conclusion easily.
He looked up at He Yuzhu and said in a calm tone, "Bring her in, I'll check her out first." He Yuzhu looked at Dr. Jiang's serious expression and his heart skipped a beat, but he tried to stay calm and not show too much worry.
He stood up and walked out of the office, and said to Liu Xiuxiu who was waiting outside: "Xiuxiu, Doctor Jiang let us in, let's go."
The two walked into the office, and Dr. Jiang motioned for Liu Xiuxiu to sit down and put her hands on the table. He began to carefully feel Liu Xiuxiu's pulse, first her left hand, then her right hand.
After taking the pulse, he said to Liu Xiuxiu, "Stick out your tongue for me to see." Liu Xiuxiu obediently stuck out her tongue, and Dr. Jiang observed it carefully.
After the examination, Dr. Jiang said to Liu Xiuxiu, "Okay, you don't have any serious problems, you just have some dampness in your body. You don't need to take medicine. Just keep warm. You can eat more coix seeds and soak your feet. This will help expel the dampness from your body."
After hearing Dr. Jiang's diagnosis, Liu Xiuxiu showed a hint of disapproval on her face. She felt that she had always been in good health, so how could there be anything wrong with her?
What's more, she came to the hospital this time because of He Yuzhu's advice. If she hadn't come, she could have saved the money. So, she curled her lips slightly and didn't say much.
He Yuzhu looked at Liu Xiuxiu's expression and knew that she might not take his words to heart. But he did not say it directly, but chose to appease Liu Xiuxiu's emotions first.
He patted Liu Xiuxiu's shoulder gently and said, "You go wait outside first. I'll leave after I finish looking at this."
Although Liu Xiuxiu was a little confused, she didn't say much when she saw He Yuzhu's serious expression. After nodding in agreement, she got up and left the clinic.
After the door was closed, He Yuzhu's face immediately became solemn. He looked at Dr. Jiang nervously and asked cautiously, "Dr. Jiang, is my wife really okay? She has been a little emotional recently, and I am really worried about her."
Doctor Jiang frowned at He Yuzhu's worried expression. He sighed softly, recalled the situation of the patient he had met before, and then told He Yuzhu as much as possible in simple and easy-to-understand language.
He knew that He Yuzhu must be very anxious at the moment, but he still wanted to help He Yuzhu understand Liu Xiuxiu's situation as much as possible. Finally, Dr. Jiang said earnestly:
"Your wife's situation may be similar to that of the patient. I suggest you pay more attention to her mood changes and give her more care and comfort. Sometimes, psychological problems may be more difficult to detect and treat than physical problems. Therefore, you must take care of her patiently and carefully."
He Yuzhu's heart skipped a beat when he heard what Dr. Jiang said. He thought of the term postpartum depression and couldn't help feeling guilty.
He knew that he had been busy with work for some time and had not paid enough attention to Liu Xiuxiu. Now, he had to make a change, spend more time with Liu Xiuxiu and pay more attention to her.
He took a deep breath and said to Dr. Jiang, "Thank you, Dr. Jiang. I will remember your words. I will pay more attention to my daughter-in-law's emotional changes and give her more warmth and comfort. I hope she can recover as soon as possible."
After that, He Yuzhu stood up and bowed to Dr. Jiang to express his gratitude. Then, he turned and walked out of the clinic and found Liu Xiuxiu who was waiting outside. He smiled gently and said to Liu Xiuxiu, "Xiuxiu, Dr. Jiang said there is nothing wrong with my health. Let's go."
When Liu Xiuxiu saw He Yuzhu's smile, her dissatisfaction was slightly relieved. But she still pouted and said, "I told you that we don't need to come for inspection, but you just don't believe it."
Hearing this, He Yuzhu gently held Liu Xiuxiu's hand and said softly, "Yes, yes, Xiuxiu is right. I will definitely listen to you in the future. Let's go to the department store. I'll buy you something you like."
When Liu Xiuxiu heard what He Yuzhu said, most of the resentment in her heart dissipated. She felt He Yuzhu's sincerity and concern, so she nodded, followed He Yuzhu out of the hospital, and prepared to go shopping in the department store.
