The Domineering General and His Post-it Lady

Chapter 101 Hu Lijing "explodes" the kitchen

Hu Lijing had never cooked porridge since she was a child. She put the pot on the stove and prepared to make a fire, but she was not sure how to light the fire. One time, she passed by the kitchen and saw Xiaoya doing it. She thought to herself that it would be nice if Xiaoya could help her.

Hu Lijing wondered whether she should go out and ask the servants and maids, but suddenly she remembered that it was Sixth Madam Lou Yunsi who arranged for the servants and maids to give up the kitchen to cook porridge for her. Maybe those servants and maids were just like Xiaoya, the maid of First Madam Zhao Chunlei. They would not help her and would even add insult to injury.

Hu Lijing continued to think about it on her own. After finally starting the fire, she had to keep adding firewood. The smoke that kept coming out choked Hu Lijing to the point of tears. Hu Lijing wiped her eyes with her hands.

After a while, Hu Lijing smelled a burning smell and stood up to take a look. Hu Lijing was startled and muttered, "Oh, why is it burnt?"

Hu Lijing wanted to pick up the pot quickly, but it was too hot and her hands couldn't hold it steadily. She threw it aside, and the pot happened to fall on the dishes next to it. Several dishes slid down with a clanging sound.

Hu Lijing looked at her burned hands, then looked at the bowls and dishes that had fallen to the ground and broken into pieces. She became angry and kicked the vegetable basket at her feet, causing all the vegetables in the basket to fall out. Looking at the messy kitchen, Hu Lijing was about to lose her mind.

Hu Lijing thought that she just needed to finish the task for half a day, and she held back the anger that was about to come out of her mouth. She cleaned the pot again, put rice in it, and started the fire again. After a lot of effort, she finally cooked the porridge. I don't know if it tastes good or not. Hu Lijing thought, anyway, Sixth Madam Lou Yunsi just said that she wanted to eat porridge, and she didn't ask for it to be delicious, so it's fine as long as it's cooked well.

When it was brought to Lou Yunsi, Lou Yunsi and Luo Yun looked at her with a strange look in their eyes, as if they were watching an animal. Hu Lijing hurried to the mirror, saw her face and hair, and screamed loudly: "Oh my, how did I become like this!"

Hu Lijing ran out like a frightened rabbit, leaving Lou Yunsi and Luo Yun confused.

Lou Yunsi began to taste the porridge cooked by Hu Lijing. After taking a spoonful, she thought, "Pah, this is too disgusting. Even beggars don't want to eat it. This is a dark dish!" Lou Yunsi thought as she vomited.

Seeing Lou Yunsi's painful expression, Luo Yun hurried forward to ask if her wound hurt, and shouted: "Someone come, Madam's wound hurts!"

Fan Ziren arrived quickly, and Li Shenning and Xiao Shenke followed in. Fan Ziren nervously asked Li Shenning to show Lou Yunsi quickly.

Seeing everyone's nervous expressions, Lou Yunsi shook her head and said, "I'm fine. I just drank that mouthful of porridge, which was really unpalatable. It may have touched the wound. I should be fine."

Li Shenning asked Luo Yun to help check the condition of his back injury, then described it to him. He also took Lou Yunsi's pulse and reported to Fan Ziren that she was fine. Only then did Fan Ziren feel relieved.

When Li Shen Ning was receiving treatment, Luo Yun described the injury to him because it was difficult to see the injured area. He also assisted in applying herbal medicine and ointment, so he knew how to describe it to Li Shen Ning.

In order to be able to take care of Lou Yunsi in time, Fan Ziren chose a room not far from Lou Yunsi. He usually read books and handled official business in the room and never went to the study. The study was some distance away from the room. He was afraid that if something happened to Lou Yunsi, he would not be able to get there in time. He just heard the shouting and ran over as soon as possible.

Xiao Shenk saw Lou Yunsi said the porridge was too bad, so he immediately asked someone to prepare more porridge. Li Shenning didn't understand why Hu Lijing was asked to cook porridge. How could she let a spoiled person like Hu Lijing cook porridge? The porridge she cooked might be poisonous to death.

Fan Ziren guessed Lou Yunsi's intention. If it was any other woman, he would think that she had bad intentions, or he would just ignore her if it didn't affect him.

However, Fan Ziren silently supported Lou Yunsi's behavior. Hu Lijing instigated Madam Fan to beat Lou Yunsi, causing her to be injured. Fan Ziren originally wanted to severely punish Hu Lijing.

When Madam Fan brought Hu Lijing over, he wanted to kick Hu Lijing out, but because Madam Fan was there, he had to let her in. When he heard the punishment method mentioned by Lou Yunsi, he was a little surprised, but he also felt that Lou Yunsi was kind-hearted.

If it was any other wife of Fan Ziren, Hu Lijing might have been beaten and thrown out of the Fan Mansion, but Lou Yunsi was sensible and knew how to take Madam Fan's face into consideration. She also had a kind heart and was able to empathize with Hu Lijing and did not punish her severely. Fan Ziren thought to himself that Lou Yunsi was worthy of being the person he liked and was indeed different from others.

Fan Ziren understood that Lou Yunsi asked Hu Lijing to stay and serve for a long time just to make trouble for Hu Lijing, so he secretly told Xiao Shenke to tell the people in the other courtyard to listen to Lou Yunsi. Only then could Luo Yun freely send the people in the other courtyard away and let Hu Lijing do what she wanted.

Hu Lijing seemed to be frightened and ran back to her own courtyard. The maid Xiaoya saw Hu Lijing's appearance and thought that Hu Lijing had fallen into a fire pit. Why was her face black and her hair messy? She hurried forward and asked, "Miss, what happened? Oh my God, that vicious woman Lou Yunsi actually burned you like this!"

Hu Lijing said aggrievedly: "No, I was smoked by the fireworks when I was cooking!"

When the maid Xiaoya heard Hu Lijing talking about cooking, she was very surprised. She had been serving Hu Lijing in the Hu Mansion since she was a child, and she had never seen Hu Lijing do any work, let alone cook. Now she was asked to cook, which was too depressing.

The maid Xiaoya said angrily: "Lou Yunsi tortured you like this, what a vicious woman, I know she kept you to serve for a long time just to torture you, Miss, let's go, don't stay here."

When Hu Lijing heard the maid Xiaoya say she was leaving, she shouted, "No, if I leave now, that means I admit defeat. I don't want to leave in disgrace. I want that Sixth Madam to admit her fault to me!"

The maid Xiaoya persuaded: "Miss, you see she has tortured you like this. Although it is only half a day, it is very difficult to endure. Why don't we talk to her and let me help you."

Hu Lijing rejected the maid Xiaoya: "No, she said she would leave me alone, so I will tolerate her for a while. After today, I will find a way to deal with her!"

Seeing that Hu Lijing was so determined and unable to change her mind, the maid Xiaoya said nothing more.

Hu Lijing asked her maid Xiaoya to give her a bath and change her clothes, and then went back to the general's villa. When she reached the door of the general's room, she found that the general was also there, as well as Li Shenning and Xiao Shenkek. There were a lot of people standing in the room. Hu Lijing was a little panicked, wondering if they were going to be held accountable for what she had just done.

Luo Yun saw Hu Lijing and said, "Miss Hu, you ran really fast just now!"

Hu Lijing didn't even dare to look up at them. She lowered her head and said, "I just ran to wash up and came back to avoid scaring the Sixth Madam."

Luo Yun said speechlessly: "Do you know that the porridge you just cooked was so unpalatable that it almost choked Madam Liu and caused her wound to split open!"

Hu Lijing thought: It would be nice if it cracked, but unfortunately it didn’t!

Hu Lijing pretended to be pitiful and said in a crying voice: "This is my first time to cook porridge. I have never done this before. I have tried my best to cook it!"

Lou Yunsi felt sorry for her and decided to just let it go and deal with her during dinner. Lou Yunsi asked Hu Lijing to leave first.

Hu Lijing glanced at Fan Ziren, and Fan Ziren only looked at Lou Yunsi. Hu Lijing reluctantly left.
