Snape's office.

"Our new professor...who cares about students...Professor Lupin," Snape frowned, as if reading his name was something extremely disgusting, "he couldn't wait to send me a message on the train, for the sake of your physical and mental health."

He stared at Theodore and Brace, and the wrinkles between his brows were exposed:

"And the delicate, boy-who-lived is enjoying the exclusive care of Madam Pomfrey because of it. I should have sent both of you to keep him company, but I thought a Slytherin student wouldn't be so fragile."

He slammed down two bottles of euphoria potion, and Jian Yu couldn't tell for a moment which one was more stressful: him or the Dementors.

"No need, Professor Snape," said Theodore. "We've already had the Viagra."

Snape paused for a moment and looked at Jian Yu beside him. He crossed his arms and suddenly asked:

"How to deal with the side effects of euphoria, singing too much and twisting the nose?"

Fortunately, Jian Yu had not completely forgotten the special class at the end of last semester. She replied:

"With a sprig of peppermint."

Snape's expression seemed to ease a little. This seemed to be the only good thing he had heard all day:

"Looks like you didn't completely waste your summer... get your paper out."

She was checked for homework on the first day of school, and both Theodore and Bryce looked at her with sympathy.

Snape took her parchment and scanned it inch by inch, his expression becoming increasingly ugly:

"Shrinking potion - why don't I remember giving you this assignment?"

He slammed the parchment on the table:

"I don't think Lockhart's curse includes insanity, Miss Jane."

"If you are still clear-headed, you should remember that what I arranged is the principle of the Living Hell Potion."

Jian Yu’s eyes went dark.

Only then did she remember that her Potions essay was assigned by Snape individually, and was not the shrinking potion that was commonly used in class.

She was so happy playing video games during the holidays that she completely forgot about it when she was doing her homework in the last three days!

Snape snorted coldly. Although he did not deduct points from Slytherin, he did not let her off easily.

"I'm sorry, Miss Jane. Your stupid brain has earned you a month's detention - starting tomorrow."

Jian Yu's face froze.

Why does she have to suffer such unexpected misfortunes every year?

She was put in confinement on the first day of school for two consecutive years, and she strongly suspected that she had a connection with this cellar in her previous life.

After issuing the detention order, Snape seemed to be in a much better mood. He waved his wand and a piece of paper floated in front of her:

"Your great guardian, considering your furry hobby... has specially arranged an extra elective course for you."

"Now, you three, go back to the auditorium."

Jian Yu took the paper, and the ominous premonition began to drip again.

She looked closely and found that it was a class schedule, and her elective courses had increased from two to three.

There is actually an additional course called Care of Magical Creatures!

The corners of her mouth drooped suddenly.

Although animals are indeed fascinating——

But new work is also beckoning her...

With a malicious smile.

……

Inside the auditorium.

The Sorting ceremony was over and Dumbledore was speaking.

When he saw her come in, his eyes caught her figure for the first time and he blinked at her.

"Welcome!" He had a smile on his face, but Jian Yu had spent half the holiday with him, and she could still sense some displeasure from his micro-expressions. Perhaps it was related to the attack she had suffered in the car. "There are a few things you must know..."

"First of all, our school has welcomed several Dementors. They are sent by the Ministry of Magic to perform official duties - you have already seen them on the train. They will be stationed at every entrance of the school, and no one is allowed to leave the school without permission."

"No disguise, including the invisibility cloak, can fool them. Their nature will not understand excuses or pleas for mercy, so do not give them a reason to hurt you. I hope that the prefects and the chairman can ensure that students do not conflict with them."

No one in the auditorium moved or made a sound.

Theodore and Bryce's faces turned grim again.

"Let's change to a more pleasant topic," Dumbledore continued. "I am very pleased to have three new teachers join us."

"First, there's Professor Lupin, who has kindly agreed to fill the vacant spot in Defense Against the Dark Arts."

Jian Yu found that it was the professor who came to check on them from the train. The other professors were all wearing their best robes, but he was the only one in rags, so almost no one in the auditorium applauded.

"I heard that the dean was extremely angry about this matter." Daphne bit her ear and said to her, "Look at his expression."

She followed Daphne's gaze, only to find that his expression was even darker than before, more like a kind of... hatred?

"As for our second new teacher, Rubeus Hagrid, he has agreed to take on the Care of Magical Creatures position, filling the shoes of Professor Kettleburn, who has retired."

There was thunderous applause at the Gryffindor table, but the Slytherin students who had chosen this course all looked unhappy.

"Merlin--" a senior student groaned, "Professor Kettleburn is reckless enough... but fortunately there haven't been many accidents in class. But Hagrid, the gamekeeper? I doubt he can feed us to those animals!"

Dumbledore continued to introduce the last new teacher.

"Our third new teacher, Professor Slughorn, will take a few days to take up his post. He will take up a new teaching position in the school and provide career planning guidance to students in the fifth grade and above. Students in the lower grades are also welcome to come for consultation!"

Now all the senior students smiled, and the Slytherin students were particularly happy and applauded - even though Slughorn was not present.

"My father said he was an excellent wizard at the time." Draco also clapped his hands symbolically and commented, "I don't understand why the important characters are always mentioned at the end."

Pansy, who was sitting on his right, echoed him. She had not been able to squeeze into the compartment where Draco was sitting, which contained Jane and Daphne, two of his enemies, on the train. Now that she had finally caught the opportunity, she immediately began to praise how correct and pertinent his views were.

Daphne looked at her and curled her lips in disdain.

I was wise enough to learn how to judge people early on.

She couldn't help but think of the serious conversation she had with her father during the summer vacation...

"You'll be in your third year at the beginning of the school term, Daphne." Old Greengrass put down his cane. "I heard that your relationship with the Parkinson children is very strained. Is it because of Malfoy?"

Daphne quickly took out the letter sent by Jian Yu and defended herself in panic. She first talked about Pansy's betrayal, and then said that she had found a friend who was truly worth associating with, who was strong and friendly, and had won the Special Contribution Award for two consecutive years.

The more she spoke, the more she regretted it. She felt that her father would be furious, and he had even made preparations to secretly plot against Jian Yu.

But her father pondered for a moment, but did not scold her, nor did he cut off her friendship with Jian Yu:

"We in the Greengrass family have always understood the principle of not putting all our eggs in one basket."

"A mysterious background, such ability and wisdom... and she's a Slytherin... She must be ambitious and calculating."

"It is said that Dumbledore invested in her and became her guardian... There is no reason why we shouldn't do the same."

Daphne was stunned. She never expected that her father, who had only taught her to get along well with Draco and hinted in various ways that she should choose a high-quality marriage partner from a pure-blood family, would actually say such profound words.

"Of course, we still have to maintain close contact with Malfoy."

"As for Parkinson... they have the same idea as us about Malfoy." Old Greengrass sneered, "Don't worry about her. Just save face."

Daphne felt that she had realized something.

Their Greengrass family is indeed better than Parkinson's!

It turned out that her good vision was inherited. Her father also understood that Jian Yu was the one who would ascend to the throne!

She smiled and selectively ignored her father's advice to put family interests first.
