HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 80 Newt's Visit

The Slytherin family's portrait room is very large, with three walls covered with picture frames and the remaining wall having only a few picture frames.

The moment the door opened, the voices of the portraits reached my ears.

"Gloria finally came back. Did she bring her boyfriend with her?"

"It's the Malfoy kid. I didn't expect that their family had been in Britain for ten centuries, and in the end Gloria chose this family."

Gloria came in first, followed by Draco.

The two walked into the portrait room, and Gloria greeted them as usual, "Hi everyone, meet my boyfriend."

The portraits on all sides looked over, and Draco swore that in the ones that were closer, he saw some faces from the Dark Wizard Anthology.

"What's your name?" the male portrait with a lazy expression and sharp eyes asked him.

"Draco Malfoy." He answered calmly, maintaining the elegance of a noble pure-blood family.

"Is your father Lucius Malfoy II?" he asked with a solemn face, looking at the man who was intimidating without even getting angry. He was Gloria's grandfather, who knew about the Malfoy family's marriages in recent generations.

"Yes."

Gloria said, "Grandfather, if you have any objection, I will take him to see Salazar first."

The serious man snorted and turned to chat with the other portraits.

Seeing the black-haired man in the portrait sitting on a chair with his eyes closed, still with an astonishing aura, Draco understood why Gloria smashed the statue in the Chamber of Secrets. The image was very different.

"Salazar, why is your statue in the secret room so ugly? I thought I saw a monkey with hairless hair—"

The man with closed eyes opened his eyes, revealing the same pair of silver eyes. He said coldly: "That fits the image of a powerful wizard." Then he continued to close his eyes.

Draco looked at the portrait with infinite admiration in his heart. After the Malfoy family came to England, every generation graduated from Slytherin College. He never expected that one day he would be able to see Salazar's portrait in person.

"The aesthetic taste of the strong a thousand years ago was so strange... I have already smashed it and am going to renovate the secret room."

"Whatever." Salazar didn't seem to want to reply and simply turned his face away.

Draco's eyes moved to the portrait next to them. A man with black-gray hair and silver eyes was looking down at them. His eyes were as empty and cold as an ice cave. Even though it was just a portrait, he couldn't help but feel his heart tighten.

"That's Enzo. My middle name is taken from him." Gloria pointed at the dark-haired man and said, "He... looks at everyone like this."

Draco looked at her and said, "I see there are very few portraits on this wall. They must be of powerful people in your family, right?"

Gloria nodded. "Salazar is needless to say. As for Enzo, there are still many dark wizards who like to use the spells he invented."

"Enzo..." Draco felt that he must have heard this name somewhere.

"Killing Curse—"

Gloria's words reminded him completely that the first of the three unforgivable curses was the one whose inventor left his name but his surname was unknown.

Draco stood there in a daze. The portrait of the dark wizard who invented the Killing Curse was right in front of him. No wonder his eyes looked so scary.

Gloria said: "Enzo likes to be clean and neat, and he attaches great importance to the identity of wizards. He thinks it is too stupid to wave the wand back and forth during a duel, so he spent a lot of effort to invent the Killing Curse."

Part of her understanding of the identities of wizards and Muggles came from Enzo.

Then she took the initiative to point to the portrait in the middle. Gloria's light blonde hair was exactly the same as the man in the painting, who was sleeping soundly in the frame and looked imageless.

"Elvis Slytherin, the greatest creation of the family was created by him, a genius among geniuses. If Salazar made the Slytherin family famous in the wizarding world, then Elvis was the person who laid the strong foundation for the family. He has a good personality, but it may be too energy-consuming to create three snakes during his lifetime, so the most common thing he does after becoming a portrait is to sleep."

No matter how loudly the portraits quarreled or how loudly they chatted under their portraits, they could not make this legendary figure open his eyes.

Draco whispered, "I thought Salazar Slytherin was the most powerful person in your family."

Gloria looked at Elvis deeply and said, "In terms of fame, this is the case. Of course, Salazar is very talented and has ideals... It's getting late. I'll come to see them next time. I have to get up early tomorrow and go to the forest to watch Adonis hatch."

Amid the whispers of the portraits, the two left the portrait room.

·

In the forest, Gloria and Draco sat in a nest of hay, staring at the pitch-black dragon egg.

Draco was still pressing his left hand. Gloria had just completed the blood contract between him and the young dragon. The wound from taking the blood had healed. After the contract was completed, he could feel the heartbeat inside the eggshell.

With a few clicks, a black claw broke the eggshell, and soon the dragon baby's head popped out, crying tenderly. Grace stared at the dragon egg until the dragon baby was completely out of the shell, then he licked it.

Adonis, who had just hatched from his shell, had a pair of very beautiful bronze animal eyes. When he and Draco looked into each other's eyes, the man and the dragon could vaguely sense each other's emotions.

Gloria asked, "How do you feel now?"

"It's amazing..." Draco said, "I can sense some of his thoughts. For example, he wants to eat now."

With a crackling sound, Grace immediately leaned down to block the young dragon and looked behind the two men.

Gloria stood up immediately when she saw the person coming, "Don't worry Grace, this gentleman means no harm, I invited him here." She had told Coco to bring Mr. Scamander directly to the forest when he came, but she didn't expect him to come so early.

With her assurance, Grace relaxed a little and continued to keep an eye on her child.

"Merlin - is the real black flame dragon."

Newt Scamander was wearing a faded blue suit, carrying an old suitcase, with silver hair. His face had not changed much from decades ago and looked quite shy.

Gloria said, "Welcome Mr. Scamander, we are watching Adonis break out of his shell."

"Adonis, his name? It's a great one." Newt was in high spirits. "I looked up a lot of information on how to distinguish the gender of a black flame dragon cub from its appearance."

He had been looking forward to this day for a long time. When he received the letter saying that he could come today, he picked out his best suit from home and put it on early. He didn't even have the heart to take a look around the legendary Slytherin Manor. His mind was only on the extinct creatures in the forest that were in the outside world.

Draco followed suit and stood up, "Welcome Mr. Scamander, I'm Draco Malfoy."

Newt shook her hand gently and said, "Just call me Newt." After saying that, his eyes were fixed on Grace, and the love in his eyes was pure and contained nothing else.

Gloria sat down again and patted the seat next to her, "Can you move over slowly? Are you coming alone?"

Newt walked slowly closer with a suitcase in hand, "Yes, it's just me. My wife went to the kids' house." Although he was old, his movements were light and measured.

Draco was standing by and watched him move over little by little, then put down his suitcase and sat down carefully. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. It was hard to imagine that such a shy and taciturn old man had captured Grindelwald, the most prestigious dark wizard at the time, when he was young.

Newt stared at the young dragon that was whimpering with its head raised. "His horn... the book says that a creature will grow up after seven horn changes. This is the first time I've seen such a creature. Is the record true?"

After all, only members of the Slytherin family have ever set foot in this forest.

Gloria usually just liked to come and see them, and she had no idea how many times the Black Flame Dragon had changed roles. "I really don't know, but Draco might know about it later. He just established a blood contract with Adonis."

"Bloodline contract." Newt sighed, "This is rare. Few creatures are willing to establish this kind of contract. Your contract must be equal."

Draco nodded, his tone unable to conceal his pride, "Yes, Adonis will be a very important partner in my life from now on."
