HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 77 Birthday Party

On July 5th, a lavish and grand banquet was taking place at the magnificent Malfoy Manor.

Under the sparkling crystal chandelier, the carefully decorated long table was filled with delicious food. In the huge crystal glass, the magic red wine floated into the wine glasses in the guests' hands as elegantly as musical notes.

There are many guests at today's banquet, including various pure-blood families in the UK and even some foreign families, who all come here to see the legendary Miss Slytherin. Some high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Magic also came to the scene, and a special photographer from the Daily Prophet was allowed to enter the banquet.

As one of the protagonists of this banquet, Draco has gone down to meet the friends of the Malfoy family with his father.

Gloria had just changed into her dress in the room. It was a long light blue tulle dress with sparkling diamonds on the hem, which made her look even more dazzling. Narcissa was pleased. "It's about time. I'll take you downstairs. Are you nervous?"

"Not nervous." Gloria said, "Draco should be nervous."

"He was certainly quite nervous," Narcissa said. "He kept asking me if my tie was crooked before we went in."

At this time, on the field, Lucius had passed the family ring to Draco, who wore it on his right ring finger, and the guests were applauding.

"Now, as the protagonist of the banquet, it's time for you to dance the first dance." Lucius looked at his son with eyes full of admiration and pride, "with Miss Slytherin."

Everyone made way for Gloria and Narcissa who had arrived. When Master Platinum turned his head, the only thing he could see was Lori who was not far away.

Everyone's eyes were on Gloria. She stared at Draco with a smile in her eyes and walked towards him step by step.

When the two hands were clasped together, the young man noticed cold sweat on his palm due to nervousness. They faced each other sideways, with their right hands on each other's waists, and moved slowly under the bright crystal lamp.

Draco didn't use hairspray today. His platinum hair falling in front of his forehead gave him a youthful handsomeness. He wore a white suit with a light blue bow tie, which matched the color of Gloria's dress.

"Nervous?" Gloria asked him in a low voice.

Draco brought her into his arms, hugged her waist and held her hand, "I'm not nervous anymore when I see you. You look really beautiful today."

"Thank you." Gloria said, "You are handsome too. I like your hairstyle now. I can touch your hair when we kiss again."

Draco's face flushed at these words. "Can you tell me this in private?"

Gloria heard his voice tremble slightly and knew that he was shy. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. There has been movement in the eggs of the Black Flame Dragon recently. Let's witness the hatching of the dragon together."

After changing the subject, the blush on Draco's face gradually faded away. "I have already thought of a name for the dragon that will accompany me."

"what name?"

Draco leaned down close to her ear and whispered, "Adonis."

"What a nice name, he must be very handsome." Gloria's eyes lit up.

Adonis means a handsome man, which is very suitable for the Black Flame Dragon.

The two of them danced and talked, completely oblivious to the eyes around them. The camera flashed from time to time, but it did not affect them at all.

Gloria said, "I need to go to St. Mungo's Hospital on my own tomorrow after the party."

"What?" Draco wondered why he hadn't been told this before.

"Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom. Although I don't like the woman who married Lestrange, I have to express my opinion on this matter." Gloria said, "And I have something to give to Neville Longbottom. It's very important."

Draco frowned, "That little fat boy." He remembered very clearly that he had teased that boy many times in the first grade.

"His parents are very brave," Gloria said. "I also wonder how magical that thing is."

"what?"

"You'll know later. Oh, by the way, I have to go to Tonks's house again." Gloria said calmly.

Draco couldn't calm down for a moment after hearing this, "That Tonks? Why?"

In his opinion, Andromeda, who married a Muggle wizard, was a traitor to the Black family and as hateful as Sirius.

"After all, the person she is marrying is a wizard." Gloria said, "The rest of the time after today will basically be spent in Slytherin Manor. I have to meet them before that. My father thought of her in the end."

"Okay..." Draco knew her character and didn't bring the person to them after all.

The dance was over and everyone was free to move around. Gloria saw familiar classmates and nodded to them with a smile, then turned her face away uncomfortably, as she still remembered clearly what she had seen in the Slytherin common room.

Soon a short man with fluffy gray hair and wearing a wizard robe appeared, accompanied by a cameraman from the Daily Prophet. He pointed the camera at Gloria and Draco and clicked, with a smile on his face.

"This is the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge." Lucius introduced the gray-haired man who only reached his shoulders.

"When Miss Slytherin first announced her identity, I wanted to go to Hogwarts to see you." Fudge held out his hand, "But Dumbledore always said that you were still a student and shouldn't be disturbed by the Ministry of Magic at school."

Gloria shook his hand lightly and said, "We met today. I believe there will be more opportunities in the future."

Fudge looked like a kind old man. He asked the photographer to take another photo of them. After taking the photo, he smiled and said, "I am very happy to see the Slytherin family return to the wizarding world during my tenure. The combination of you and little Malfoy has excited the pure-blood families. I am also happy about this."

"Thank you." After thanking her, Draco raised his chin slightly and hugged Gloria's waist tightly.

Gloria said, "Speaking of which, I have something that needs the Ministry's approval recently. Mr. Fudge happens to be here, so why not ask him first."

"Oh?" Fudge tried to straighten his chest and put on the dignity of a minister. "What is it? It's not very important. I can agree to it right here."

"The form regarding the third grade going to Hogsmeade needs to be signed." Gloria asked for the form in advance before the summer vacation. "I believe the Minister also knows the identity of my parents. Since I was not born when my father passed away, the outside world does not know my existence, so the guardian naturally transitions to Sirius Black. Even if he becomes a prisoner, I still need his signature."

Fudge was stunned. He not only knew who Gloria's father was, but also knew that Regulus had completely betrayed Voldemort and seemed to have done something big. However, Dumbledore did not reveal it and only said that it was best not to know. Even though Voldemort had disappeared for more than ten years, Fudge was still afraid of his name.

Some high-ranking officials in the Ministry of Magic already knew about it, so the entire magical community was mostly curious about Gloria's attitude, and no one questioned her position by using Regulus's former identity as a Death Eater.

"This is easy to handle. I'm planning to go to Azkaban. Miss Slytherin, why don't you give me the list? I can't let a student like you go to Azkaban. It's really not good."

Fudge never imagined that Gloria had been to that place before.

"That's great." Gloria didn't really want to see Sirius. "I'll get the form after the party. If it's signed, just send it to Malfoy Manor and I'll pick it up."

"It's just a small matter." Fudge waved his hand.

The conversation was perfect. Afterwards, Gloria also met other families. Today was not her home day, so she simply said hello to everyone. Lucius understood what she meant and took them through the formalities.

In the first year of announcing her identity, Gloria did not plan to be too high-profile. She only showed up briefly today. Compared with those adults who had their own thoughts, she would rather select students in the school who had not yet firmly stood on their side. Loyalty to the Slytherin family should be cultivated early.

The next day, the Daily Prophet used an entire page to report on the dinner. The first photo was of Gloria and Draco having their first dance, followed by a photo of them with Minister Fudge.

The report almost portrayed the birthday party as an engagement party for Slytherin and Malfoy, but Draco enjoyed watching it so much that he cut a copy of it for his collection.
