HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 54 Meeting in Azkaban

In the cold waters of the North Sea, an island stands in the vast ocean. The weather here is bad and the waves constantly wash over the island cliffs.

The strong wind hit the magical defense, and Gloria stood on top of Apophis, watching the island getting closer and closer.

Azkaban, the wizard prison.

"So much pain. I love it." Apophis said happily.

Gloria curled her lips, "Where there are Dementors, there will always be pain."

Apophis hissed, "That stuff tastes good, too. Pain mixed with pure pleasure. It tastes like bonbons."

He loves pain, but he also doesn't reject happiness.

"Want to eat?" Gloria said, "Then try a few later."

The black-scaled giant snake thought for a moment and said, "Try eating one. Magic gems are my favorite now."

They were only a few dozen meters away from the island during their conversation, but as they approached the island, they saw a figure with his wand pointed at her and Apophis, and it was obvious that the size of the giant black-scaled snake frightened him.

"Who are you? This is Azkaban. Leave immediately!"

Since the establishment of Azkaban, there have been only a handful of visitors, not to mention that visitors need to be reviewed and approved by the Ministry of Magic before notifying the Aurors on duty. Since the wizard took up his post here, he has not received any application for family visits.

Golinia poked her head out from her collar, her golden eyes flashed, and a low voice appeared in the wizard's mind, "Go back to the guardhouse. Today you must write a letter to your family to report that you are safe, and report to the Ministry of Magic that everything is normal."

In the blink of an eye, the wizard put away his wand and returned to the house he was guarding as usual despite the strong wind.

The house is some distance away from the cliff. Azkaban is filled with pain, and the Aurors on duty there cannot get too close.

Gloria followed him in, picked up the list of detainees, and quickly found Sirius' name.

Apophis shrunk and crawled onto Gloria's outstretched palm, "This is Extis's territory. I haven't been here for a long time. After his death, I was the one who brought the body back to the manor."

Axtis, unsurprisingly, was a member of a family obsessed with black magic. As soon as he reached adulthood, he found a pure-blooded witch to inherit his bloodline, and then came to this island. At that time, Apophis was responsible for passively protecting him.

In the fifteenth century, there was a wizard conference that restricted the study of dark magic, so he used the manor's protective magic as a reference to create a powerful concealment spell, which indeed allowed him to conduct research smoothly for many years and eventually created magical creatures such as Dementors.

To be precise, the Dementors were a failure, and Axtis died with regret.

The interior of Azkaban was pitch black, and the shrill screams seemed to come from the abyss, making people shudder. Gloria walked in without feeling anything.

He was wearing a cloak as if his entire body had been soaked in water, and his hood fluttered, revealing the "mouth" that wizards feared the most.

Seeing a living person approaching, a group of Dementors quickly attacked. Gloria raised her head, looked at these failures with contempt, and spoke a language that no one in the world could understand except her and the Dementors, "Pain, tearing apart a complete soul, you filthy failures, bowing to the descendants of Axtis--"

The attacking Dementor quickly stopped, then trembled all over, and its 'mouth' seemed to emit a silent scream.

Gloria's tone became more serious, "Bow to the source of pain, bow to me!"

All the Dementors flew over and crawled at her feet. As the one who created them, Axtis would naturally not let them harm their offspring.

"Stay stationed in Azkaban, disperse."

The Dementors panicked and scattered, not daring to stay, especially when Apophis poked his head out. They saw him as if he were their natural enemy.

Gloria touched his head and said, "Don't you want to eat one?"

Apophis shook his head, "Not really interested."

Since she was not interested, Gloria stopped talking and walked towards the prison cell where Sirius was.

Many imprisoned wizards who had not seen light for a long time raised their hands to block the light emitted by the wand, but soon put their hands down, wanting to see clearly who was coming.

All the Dementors here had run away, and the people who were suffering in agony had not yet recovered. Through the scattered light, Gloria saw people lying on the ground with their chests slightly rising and falling.

Many wizards imprisoned here will go crazy and be in constant pain, and their happy memories will be sucked away. Their overflowing pain will be absorbed by the prison walls, and when the time is right, new Dementors will emerge from the walls.

Even Gloria didn't know how many people Axtis had captured and tortured to create this situation.

The higher you go, the quieter the prisoners become. If you don't look for them, you would think this place is empty.

Gloria found Sirius' room number based on the room number and cast a silencing spell. Then a beam of light separated from the wand and floated into the room. A man in tattered clothes and with long, greasy, black curly hair came into view.

Feeling the presence of light, the man curled up in the corner looked back. His face was thin and haggard, and his familiar gray eyes gave Gloria a momentary illusion that she saw her father. They brothers really looked alike.

"Sirius Black." Gloria called out his name.

He didn't answer, just stared at her quietly, then turned back.

"I am Gloria, the daughter of Regulus Black."

This successfully made the silent man react. He lowered his head and shook his body a few times, as if laughing, "Regulus' daughter?"

Gloria squatted down and stared at him. "I came here to ask only one question. Why did you betray the Potters? You were expelled from the family when you betrayed them. Why did you suddenly betray them again when the war was going on?"

She wanted to know more about any family member that Regulus loved. She originally thought that Sirius was just a person who was used to betrayal, but after hearing what her father said, she found that it did not seem to be the case.

Sirius lowered his head and looked at her suddenly. There seemed to be a fire burning in his eyes, but soon the fire dimmed and went out.

"You're just a child. It's very dangerous here. You should let the Auror on duty accompany you." Sirius looked at her with complicated eyes and didn't want to think about why she appeared here alone.

Of course Gloria saw through his eyes and sneered, "You think my father is a hateful Death Eater. You are both traitors, but your final choices are completely opposite!"

She took out the fake locket and threw it beside him, "Open it."

Sirius didn't understand why she did this and didn't want to pay attention.

"Open it, and don't force me to use the Imperius Curse on you," Gloria warned him.

Hearing one of the three unforgivable curses, Sirius glared at her, hesitated for a moment, picked up the locket, twisted it open and found the folded paper.

After opening the note and seeing the familiar words, the man froze in his tracks, trying hard to open his eyes wide as if trying to see the combination of letters clearly.

Gloria said quietly, "My father betrayed Voldemort for the safety of the wizarding world and even paid the price with his life. Why did you, a self-righteous Gryffindor, betray your best friend and the Order of the Phoenix?"

Sirius's eyes were blurred, and he smiled strangely, his face covered with tears, "My Leir, my good brother——"

Gloria watched coldly as the flying spell took back the locket and the paper.

"So tell me, are you really betraying me, or are you being wronged?"

Sirius looked at his empty hands, his eyes struggling with pain for a few times, and then he looked at the strange girl, "It's all my fault. I'm not wrongly imprisoned. You should leave quickly. There are Dementors here..."

"The fact that I can come here means I'm not afraid of Dementors!" Gloria interrupted her, "Since this is your answer, I know now."

She turned around and left without hesitation, taking the light in the room with her.

There was another relative of hers in Azkaban, but Gloria had never thought of going to see her. She hated that woman, even before she received her father's diary.

When they were about to leave Azkaban, the girl summoned a Dementor and ordered: "Don't get close to Sirius Black, or I will make you relive the painful abyss of the past."

The Dementor crawled on his stomach, not daring to move, until the girl walked away.

Considering the corruption in the Ministry of Magic, if Sirius was wrongly accused, Gloria would take him away immediately to overturn the case, but if everything was correct, then for the sake of her father, she wanted him to live soberly for a long time and watch himself rot in the dark Azkaban.
