HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 17 The Spotlight

Even though the common room was crowded, no one dared to sit in Draco's reserved seat.

Before they sat down, Zabini couldn't wait to ask, "Everyone is talking about the Chamber of Secrets, but no one has heard of it. What about you, Draco?"

Draco sat down slowly, pressing his slender fingers on the front of his collar. The cold scales were gradually soaked by his body temperature. Thinking of what Gloria said, "You don't know?"

This rhetorical question made everyone look at him in shock. From the implication of this question, did he know?

The boy leaned back on the sofa as usual. "The Chamber of Secrets is a secret room built by Salazar Slytherin, the founder of Slytherin House. It is said to be used to remove clay figures. I was not sure about its existence before, but after what happened tonight, it seems that the Chamber of Secrets does exist."

Not only Zabini and the others were surprised, even the usually silent Theodore looked up at him.

Facing everyone's gaze, Draco seemed relaxed and said, "You can write home and ask."

The students who were nearby also heard it, and immediately everyone looked at him with a different look.

Is it really the Malfoy family? They even know such an unknown thing.

Receiving everyone's awed looks, Draco enjoyed the feeling of being the center of attention.

"What is that clay figure?" a student nearby asked tentatively.

Draco raised his eyebrows slightly and explained slowly: "It means wizards who are of Muggle-born. Mudblood was the former name of Muggles several centuries ago. Later, a group of mudmen changed the word to Muggle, and then Mudblood became their exclusive name. Traitors of wizards should be treated like this!"

"Is that so? I've never heard of that."

In everyone's cognition, Mudblood is the title of Muggle-born wizards. Who would have thought that they were Muggles before that.

Zabini nodded appreciatively. "You are right. After all, they grew up in the Muggle world and are not on the same page as the wizards in the wizarding world."

"No wonder you're called Granger Mudblood." Pansy had long since returned to the pure-blood group. "But I prefer the term Mudblood!"

Draco ignored her.

Almost the entire academy's attention was focused on Master Platinum. He decided to write a letter to ask his father so that he could know more and tell Gloria.

On the other side, Gloria returned to the dormitory and immediately released three snakes. "Have you sensed the presence of Bajirisk?"

Jörmungandr: "Although it's been over a thousand years, I still remember the smell. It's definitely him."

Golinia climbed onto Gloria's shoulders and said, "If you were able to move freely at that time, you might be able to track him."

"Even though it was just a cat, the professors must be very alert, especially Headmaster Dumbledore." Gloria was quite distressed as to why the system didn't let her take back the basilisk immediately. "I can only find a chance to meet with Basilisk first."

As long as they see Basilisk, he can unfold his nictitating membrane to block the snake pupils. At that time, even if someone does not see the basilisk through the mirror, they will not be killed directly, but will be petrified at most.

Compared with Slytherin's collateral bloodline, the basilisk respects the orders of its direct bloodline the most.

Apophis lazily climbed onto the soft cushion and said, "I don't know what happened to that guy after all these years. He seems very weak from the smell. I think you should remember to feed him some food when you find him."

Hearing this, Gloria became even more anxious, and was really afraid that the basilisk would starve to death.

"Hogwarts Castle must have been renovated over the years. Perhaps the people of the side bloodline helped conceal the existence of the basilisk, otherwise they would have found the recorded entrance long ago."

Golinia's snake scales caressed her fair face, presenting a strange beauty. "But you were kind enough to that brat, giving him the scales of Apophis for protection."

Since they were born into this world, they have rarely shed their scales, and have even only shed their skin a few times.

Apophis spit out his snake tongue, "Yes, you should compensate me with a few magic gems. Those were given to you. How can you give them away? It hurts my heart."

"But I'm so happy that you are wearing my scales." Jörmungandr was happy and wrapped his arms around Gloria's wrists.

The next moment Gloria took off the necklace, "I can't wear it now, or Bajirisk will hide from me."

I wear it for safety when I go out, but Golinia's golden scales are too eye-catching.

Finally, Gloria gave them a few more magic gems to comfort their "wounded hearts".

The next day when Harry and the others arrived at the auditorium, the scene was even quiet for a moment. Only after they sat down did they continue to chat about their own things.

Today, Harry and his two good friends chose a place a little distance away from Gloria. Her frequent glances at them made Draco unable to bear it.

"Don't keep looking at Scarhead."

Gloria turned back reluctantly and whispered, "Aren't you curious about what they went through last night?"

Draco glanced at the three people who were concentrating on their studies, "Don't ask in a crowded place if you want to."

"Go ahead and grab a seat. I'll be there later."

Gloria did not follow them, but waited until Harry and the others walked out of the hall before catching up.

Walking to a quiet place, Harry and the others stopped, and Gloria walked forward quickly, "You know what I want to ask, the words from last night..."

"Not us!" Harry was very emotional, and Hermione and Ron patted his back soothingly.

"Did you meet anyone else on the road? Or... any obvious noises." Gloria felt that with Bagillisk's physique, he might have made some noise.

The three people opposite looked at each other. They knew that Gloria was not a bad person by nature, but she was a Slytherin student after all.

Hermione had a complicated expression. "We had just finished the Deathday party and were going to the Great Hall to get some food before the dinner was over, but we saw bloody words in the corridor, and then a large group of you showed up."

"Now everyone looks at us like monsters," Ron complained.

Harry lowered his head, probably saddened by his classmates' attitude.

Gloria could sense that they were hiding something, but it was impossible to force them to tell the truth.

"I believe those words were not written by you, but you have to be careful recently. You should understand the existence of the Chamber of Secrets by looking at the bloody words. If you want to know more, you can try to ask Professor Binns of the History of Magic. Hogwarts is also a part of the History of Magic. It's almost time for class, so I'll leave first."

Harry and Hermione frowned, and Ron said, "You should be careful too. Ginny was frightened because of what happened last night."

Gloria nodded and left quickly, not wanting to be late for her next class.

While running on the road, the three snakes said that Harry did not have the smell of Basilisk, and none of them came into contact with the basilisk.

He quickly ran to the corridor where the incident happened last night. Filch was standing on the V-shaped wooden ladder, holding a rag in his hand and staring with his bright eyes. When he saw it was Gloria, he stared at her for a while and then looked away, continuing to wipe the bloody words on the wall.

However, the blood words were still bright red, and seemed impossible to wipe off using ordinary cleaning methods.

"If I catch...oh my poor Mrs. Norris..."

As he passed by, he heard Filch mumbling to himself. The Hogwarts caretaker was always alone, with only Mrs. Norris by his side.
